Interesting little book about a woman who accepts the responsibility of adopting her sister’s unborn child rather than her sister’s alternative which was abortion.
Very nice cast of characters, most very loving and accepting: Beth, adopting her unmarried sister’s baby Carol, well, not as loving, as she was willing to abort her baby than be a mother. At least she would see it to term if Beth would adopt it. Aunt Tess, their Christian aunt who was kind and non-judgmental. Faye Logan, a flight attendant who took Beth to her home in Asheville, NC when flights to Baltimore were cancelled due to weather Josh Logan, Faye’s brother who was kind and understanding and offered wise counsel to Beth. Jean and Sam Logan, Josh and Faye’s parents. Very loving and warm and willing to help Beth with anything she might need Randy, nice guy Beth dated for two years, but didn’t want to be a father to someone else’s baby.
This is a story of great sacrifice, but also about how God’s plans are best and of how Christ can change stubborn hearts.

Adopt or abort? Powerful plot. Courageous lead character. We've adopted nine children, so this story held a special place in my heart.
I liked this story because the characters felt real. They may feel “too good to be true” at times, but I have experienced love from Christian people throughout my life very similar to this. It was a beautiful story to read and has encouraged my heart to look for opportunities to love and share my faith in the same way. I hope others enjoy the story as much as I have.
This was a good Christian book. Beth and Josh were great characters pulling you into the story as though it was happening to you.LBeth was willing to give her life and love for her sister. Her belief in God came through to a happy ending it points out that there is good people out to help others.
I love stories in which Christians live out their faith in spite of serious challenges. I am passionately pro-life, so I really appreciated the pro-life message that was integral to the story. Although there were some editing issues, the story appealed to me so much that I was able to overlook them. This is a powerful Christian prolife message told in a heart-touching story.
Is the baby Beth's or Carol's? Who is the father to be, since the biological father walked out as soon as he knew Carol was pregnant? Lehman creates a vivid picture of lives in turmoil. Recommended for all readers of romance.
Sweet, but it felt incomplete. I'd have loved for there to more character development, more time spent in the story. The characters were likeable, the story predictable but sweet, and overall a decent read but just lacked something.
This book shows how truly relying on God and trusting in Him works in our lives and how we can be positive influences in the lives of others through Him.
The Story of 2 sisters, Beth's a Christian, the other, Carol, becomes pregnant & threatens to have an abortion unless her sister agrees to take the baby & raise it. Beth works for an airline & gets free flights, but ends up stranded in a small airport that closes during a winter storm.
Asheville is also the setting of another story I remember reading, the story is briefly mentioned in this one (flower shop owner who's abusive husband was killed in an auto accident, leaving her to take care of their daughter), but I can't remember the name of the story.
What a wonderfully written and endearing story. Full of God's love and grace, with characters who sincerely extend it to others. Set in the lush Carolina mountains, with description that makes you feel you're right there.
Beth Bennett will be a Mother in a few short months, though she is unmarried and had never had a serious relationship. How? Why? She loves her family much and feels a responsibility that isn’t her own.
Yvonne Lehman spins a beautiful story of characters who are truly community. The well-developed mix of rejection and acceptance throughout the tale reveals Lehman’s grasp of the struggles of one who seeks to be totally committed to God but wrestles with life issues beyond her control.
This story touches me in ways no book has in a while. A poignant story of love & sacrifice which paints a clear picture of the way we should be living out our faith. Well done!
