Changing Lanes
Lane Bennett is the new hotshot lead public defender of Bounty County. A transplant from Chicago to Montana, Lane ran from the big city to escape a bad breakup, a far-too-stressful job, and all the anxiety issues that came along with it. WOW! I absolutely LOVED Changing Lanes! I felt like I was right in the story with all the characters. It is packed full of friendships, family, fun, romance, sexiness, and excitement. It's a definite 'I can't put it down' book!

Jake and Lane kinda hated each other. More like lusted after each other and hating themselves for it. They moved in the same social circle so had to put up with each other. They made for good banter, even if it was heated. They both gave as good as they got and the sexual tension was alive!
This story was hot, no doubt. Jake was a smooth, dirty talker and could melt the panties off of anyone. He was also uber protective and quite alpha indeed. He outshined Lane quite easily and I was okay with that because her temper tantrums were a bit hard to take. There is mention of his past, only that he was a manwhore, and there was no OW drama to worry about. He met the woman he wanted to spend his life with and no one was going to get in his way. As introductions go, this one was a hot and sexy welcome. Maren Lee created a truly scrumptious hero in Jake and I found myself wanting to devour even more of him. He was dee-lish!

Lane Bennett has been hurt before. She moved to Bounty County for a fresh start! To get away form the bastard that hurt her, and to do the job she loves in a bit of a more stress free environment. Or so she thought. Whether or not to act on the tension she has with Jake Hamilton isn't the only stress she has currently. She's working to defend a man she actually thinks is innocent, but there are some corrupt people in Bounty County working against her.
Jake Hamilton wants Lane. That about sums him up. No, I'm kidding. His start with her has been pretty rocky. Both of them throwing stones at every turn. She's fierce in the courtroom and he's always on the opposite side. He's a cop, he can't stand defense attorneys, but there's just something about Lane. Can these two FINALLY leave work at work and figure out if they can have a HEA? Read their book and see!
If you read Ride-along then you already know that Jake and Lane have a bit of a tense relationship! Well, you don't know the half of that until you read Changing Lanes! Jake and Lane FINALLY come together (in more ways than one!) and the results are absolutely HOT! I could not get enough of the banter between these two characters, how natural their relationship felt, how relatable it felt, and how hot their naughty bits were!
In the first book I had moments when I was not a Jake fan. He BEYOND redeems himself in this book! So many things he said were just right, and so swoony. Ugh, I might actually be a big Jake fan now. I'll admit it. Not only that but he's quick witted and funny as well!
Lane is amazing, but I loved her before. She's sassy, she's fierce, she works hard, and she's just plain amazing. She's very back and forth about her relationship with Jake, but it feels real to her character and the back story. Her issues are really the main angst in this story, and I loved that Lane did not back down. She is such a strong character and I loved that. I also loved that she did have a vulnerable side, but she saved it for Jake. Ugh these two.
We get visits from some of our favorites from book one. Chloe, Justin, Sierra, and a bit of Brenden. We also get a bit more of some other side characters in Wesson and Molly. Some of Jake's other roommates as well. I also loved meeting Jake's family and wouldn't mind getting to know his little sister Katie more! Even though these people were side characters they were interesting and actually ADDED to the story!
This story had amazing flow, and the banter between all the characters is great. I really enjoyed the entire story, and was super into the side plot. It was intriguing and kept me turning pages. Trust me Jake and Lane were enough to keep my interest, but the bit of suspense and mystery that Maren throws in was also really good! There's an amazing mix of sweet romance, naughty bits, and suspense. Such a well rounded read, and it's awesome to see how much this authors writing has progressed since book one!
I'm so ready for book three and book two isn't even technically out yet! Highly recommend this one!

I've been a huge fan of all things Bounty County since meeting most everyone in Ride-Along (Justin & Chloe's story), so I had been eagerly anticipating this book.
Now, you know how sometimes when you're sooo looking forward to something, it then arrives and it's just ok? And you end up feeling a bit devvo about the whole thing?
Well, THAT DID NOT HAPPEN HERE BOOKSISTERS!
This book was sen-fricken-sational & completely delivered on my expectation what of Jake & Lane's story would be like.
Maren absolutely #NailedIt, and since I finished the book, I've found myself grinning like the Cheshire Cat.
Jake and Lane together were everything I wanted & anticipated they'd be - stubborn, explosive, snarky, sassy, and hot. So hot. Oh. So. Very. HOT!
I loved that their individual personalities were not dulled by their budding relationship, but in fact complimented the other. Jake continued to be Alpha-tastic with every thing he did & Lane continued to Type-A her way through every situation she found her self in. Their banter, arguments & discussions were engrossing, hilarious & very realistic.
As always with Maren's writing, I loved the 'truthfulness' of the guy talk, the girl talk & how each of the personalities interacted within their crew when they all got together.
Sierra is still a firm fave - that mouthy filterless chick is badass - and Jake's parents were brilliant.
I loved everything about this second book in the Bounty County Series - the writing, the story, the plot, the pace, the romance & the people.
So, with that said, I'm now 110% in love with Jake Hamilton AND Justin Hunt, and ready to inhale Molly & Wesson's story in GridLocked. The snippet at the end of this read was just a cruel tease!

OMG!!!! I flove this book so much!! After reading Ride-Along I could not wait to get more of Jake and Lane and they did not dissapoint. Lane is your type A personality and stubborn to boot which is what makes her a very fiesty lawyer and she's been through some heartache which is why she tries to avoid Jake. Jake is the bad boy cop, with a dominent side who comes across a little arrogent but as you get to know him you realise he is just so sweet, butter couldn't melt in his mouth and he wants Lane. The sexual chemisry between these two is off the charts and I loved every minute of it!! There are twists and turns along the way and boy, does this hit you right in the feels on more than one occasion but I wouldn't have it any other way. Once again Maren has teased us and now I eagerly wait for Molly and Wesson's story!

Well! Having read the first book in this series, this one was exactly what I expected. Perfect, funny, erotic, (oh yeah!), with a bit of suspense and a cast of loyal, witty, characters. We meet some seriously sexy alpha men that will no doubt have their own novels soon. Looking forward to Wesson and Molly. I'm also feeling a strong Ryan and Katie vibe. (You hearing that, Maren? :) )
"Changing Lanes" would be difficult to describe if someone told me I could only label it with a single genre description. It was so much more than simple romance. The chemistry between Jake and Lane was amazing. Their chemistry was scorching and existed from the beginning, even though they were NOT friends. It was some time before they actually became "exclusive."
"Baby, I want us to be exclusive. Please don't see other people," he asked, sweetly."
Jake was an incredible, attentive, protective, loyal and an as-sexy-as-you-can-get alpha hero. I loved him. I wanted him. I completely trusted that he was honest and sincere. Sometimes he was ridiculous, but I loved it.
"Holy shit. This man. Could he be anymore perfect? Ok, so not so perfect. Kind of a dick. But a sweet one. Not to mention hot. Good in the kitchen. You can't go wrong here, Lane."
Lane was a strong-minded and sassy heroine. Although I do admit that I have never described myself as a feminist, I related to some of the comments she made. Jake and Lane had a believable connection. Although there was a lot of it, their relationship became more than just sex. They cared deeply for each other. Oh and don't get me started on the laughter. My God, they were funny! Some of the dialogue had me in stitches.
"Where's you underwear, then?" she asked.
Honest questions deserve honest answers, Jake thought. "I don't wear the." He smiled.
"Like ever? That's gross, Jake. Don't your pants smell like balls?" Lane wrinkled her nose at the thought.
There is an element of suspense and mystery building in the background of the relationship development. The suspense aspect was important to the story, however I appreciated that it didn't cause too much unnecessary angst as they were figuring out their feelings/emotions for each other. I believe the suspense helped solidify their relationship.
For lack of better words at this moment, I'll just say I really loved this book! All the "feels" I look for were there. Jake is definitely on my book boyfriend list.
While "Changing Lanes" can be read as a standalone.....it is the first book in this series ("Ride Along") that we meet Jake and Lane for the first time. I recommend reading the book first so you will fully appreciate every moment, every aspect and even every character in "Changing Lanes." We don't simply just meet Jake and Lane, we actually get a good amount of insight to their characters and what we could expect in their future romance. And this (the timing of my review) is coming at a perfect time for you to read "Ride Along," book one. For this weekend, you can get it free Dec. 23rd-25th. A wonderful gift from Maren Lee! My goodness! This book was hot, hot, HOT! Maren Lee sure knows how to write hot and steamy scenes! I loved Jake and Lane. They had so much chemistry together and I loved their back and forth banters. When Lane and Jake both put aside their professional views and give in, sparks fly! Man do they ignite! Maren Lee sure has me hooked! I can't wait for the next one!

I loved Ride along and was dying to find out more about Jake and Lane especially the way things ended in book 1. Man oh man for two people that can't stand the sight of one another things get pretty steamy. I like how we're taken to the beginning of Jake and Lane and then we're in the present day after the events that took place between them at the wedding, everything flowed absolutely beautifully. The battles these two go though are just priceless I love the control Jake takes and the way Lane is such a strong powerful woman but at the same time doesn't need to always be in charge is just perfect. Jakes family, oh my gosh I haven't laughed so much with all of their personalities it's absolutely hysterical. We had the sexy, the laughter and even the suspense in this story. Loved loved loved and now I can't wait to read Gridlocked and see what Wesson & Molly are all about. This series is an absolute hit for sure. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

What can I say about Jake and Lane?! From their first interactions in Ride Along, I wanted to see them come together. At least to work their anger out horizontally.
Thankfully horizontal comes into play indeed.
I loved Jake's focus and drive with their relationship and then back and forth Lane gives him along the way. I thought they were well paired and well developed characters.
And the hotness? Oh my lordt the hotness!! Sweltering! I cannot wait for more from Maren even as I'm sad to say goodbye to Jake and Lane.

Wow what a great addition to this Bounty County series. Lane is an amazing public defender and Jake is one tough cop for the Sheriff's department. But one night changes it for both them. These two were not only hot between the sheets these two are full of one liners.
Not only did Jake steal my heart with his compassion, but he loved her wholehearted. This book will leave you fanning yourself and swooning the in the next breathe.

Loved Lane's character!
I love that Lane is a ball duster and that Jared is ok with that. He's even ok that she super-smart and makes more money than he does. I think that is sexy itself that Jared is man enough to be fine with that. He even picks up after Lane (she's a bit of a slob) and cooks for her (she never learned). But the one thing he is adamant about taking control is everything going on in the bedroom! Yum!!!

After reading Ride Along, I was dying to find out how Lane and Jake end up together because, let’s be real, they couldn’t stand to be anywhere near each other. This book did not let me down! I have to say, while both characters were great. I loved Lane so much. This was a fun, easy, super-hot read. Another great book in the series.

She made me love Jake
So my review of the first said I wasn't sure about Jake. Well it took me WAY too long to get to book 2 in this series. There was good suspense in here and I was surprised by it. I was expecting something different for the turmoil but Maren pulled out a plot that I was excited to read about.
Lane is fierce. She is the kick @$$ woman that you want to be when you grow up. That said even the strongest have their moments where they need everything.
Jake was not my fave in the last story. I lost a lot of respect for him but enjoyed watching Maren make him human. He redeemed himself many times over. The trip they took just made me love him more for how he made Lane his priority.
All the faves are back and we meet some new characters too. I can't wait to see where we are taken in Bounty County for book 3.
While the series continues Maren manages to create unique plots for each story. She concludes them well and they aren't rushed. The only thing that will be rushing is your blood as you read. 💖🚓🚔

I received this ARC in return for an honest review. Changing Lanes is Book 2 in the Bounty County Series. Can be read as a standalone, but series is best read in order, as the major characters involved are included throughout so that you can continue to read about their stories along the way. Written from dual POVs.
Wow...that's all I can say about Jake and Lane!! Their story is immensely hot and heavy!! From the beginning of their story, they hated each other and argued all the time, but underneath all of that was a powerful connection that hit them like a ton of bricks!
Jake is 100% a totally hot, demanding, yet extremely loving alpha male!
Lane is a complete firecracker; gorgeous redhead, awesome defense attorney, and massively headstrong and independent.
When these two connect, the fireworks are explosive and not at all like your "normal" couple's relationship.
This story had several twists in the plot that I wasn't expecting. It's amazingly written to bring you a whole load of emotions: love, passion, conflict, huge surprises (good and bad), drama, suspense, laughter, sadness, and most definitely tons of heat!! I can't wait to get my hands on Book 3 of this series! Another definite must read book from this amazing author!!!

Loved loved loved this book!!! Lane is a total bad ass and I can relate to her... well all the female characters of this series actually!!! They say what they want and take no crap from anyone and they love with everything they have. And let's not forget the hot men in uniform who make us stronger and will protect and love with everything they have!!! If you're looking for sexy, hot uniformed men and bad ass chicks who rule the world... then you have found the right book!!! Thank you Maren Lee!!!

I could not put this book down! But I forced myself to so I could prolong it, I didn't want it to end. I really loved Lane as a character, I enjoyed she was very determined in what she wanted in all aspects of her life and never let anyone bully her into doing anything other than what she wanted. That can be hard to find in Romance novels, and Maren hit a home run. Love this book, love this series. How connections, hot as HELL sex, a little bit of danger and definitely some funny bits, all the stuff I enjoy from a book! Well done!

I purchased this book ages ago when it was offered as a freebie.
This is book two in the Bounty County Series by Maren Lee. I absolutely loved book one so was excited to read book two, especially because Maren introduces us to the next books hero and heroine in the previous book so we get this little glimpse, this small taste of what's to come. So i was excited for Jack and Lane's story because of the love hate relationship they had going on in book 1.
Book 2 picks up with a revised epilogue as out introduction. I loved this! Lane and Jack immediately jumped off the pages with their funny banter and Lane's feminist ways about her. Their relationship when from zero o 180 miles in 6 seconds! I was so surprised but loved how unconventional their love story was. it was real.
The only negative I have is I wanted more. I wanted more of the suspense with the danger and threat towards Lane. I wanted more of a back story about who was dirty in their small town and why. It felt anticlimactic, like that was the back story. Which I get, but t would have added just a little something more to the story for the reader. But with that being said, this was another incredible story about finding love.
Now off to read book three!

Jake and Lane. *sigh* I love these two. Jake's a small town deputy with a dirty mouth and dominant tendencies. Lane is a sassypants public defender from the big city. Together they are electric! Lee stocks their story full of passion and humor, with enough conflict within the relationship and suspense outside the relationship to keep it all interesting and well-paced. It's a terrific book and I will be one-clicking Gridlocked as soon as it's available.

WOW! If you want some heat, great characters, great storyline, and a bit of mystery…GRAB THIS BOOK!
Changing Lanes, the second book in the Bounty county Series by romance author Maren Lee, is SO good! This one brings forward the characters in book 1 in the series, but can easily be a standalone as well. I loved the characters and what they brought to the story, the way Lane and Jake hooked up, and the actions following…Hotness!!! 5-stars from me for this one and I already downloaded book 3!

Enjoyable
Second in the series and i absolutely loved these two together . It was very lighthearted sometimes gripping well written story. The characters have great chemistry with each other and the other characters in the book. I enjoyed reading this one and highly recommend it . One of my favorite so far from Maren

Changing Lanes is sexy fun. Where can I get my own Jake Hamilton?! Lane and Jake's journey from enemies to friends to lovers is funny and sexy. I love how sweet Jake is once he sets his mind on winning over Lane. I don't like Lane as much, I feel as if she was ott dramatic & bitchy at times. And her reaction to Chloe, Jake and Justin's little secret is just absolutely ridiculous. Thankfully she actually listened to Jake for once and calmed down.
But generally I enjoyed Changing Lanes and can't wait for Molly and Wesson's story.

Once I finished Ride-Along, I was excited to read Jake and Lane's book and this did not disappoint!!
Jake Hamilton is a sexy, dominant alpha male and Oh yeah he is a cop! Talk about a total package!! I loved him so much!
Lane is a stubborn, sassy and feisty lawyer. I loved her.
I loved the banter and chemistry between them and of course the hot sexy scenes!! I also loved the secondary characters- his family and their friends! I can't wait to read Wesson and Molly's story!
