Emily Madigan is Seattle’s best wedding planner. Her superpower is managing a thousand details without dropping a single one, and her deepest desire is an hour-long bubble bath and a foot rub.
Until her newest clients want to get married at a BDSM club.
Damon Black owns Fettered. He’s proud of who he is and what he does, and nothing scares him – until two of his favorite people want to get married at the place where they fell in love, no matter how many spanking benches they have to move out of the way to do it.
Damon knows as soon as he lays eyes on Emily that she doesn’t belong in his world. A quick tour of his club will prove it.
This book is very erotic and there is a lot of sexual situations and sexual talk. It also gets into the BDSM lifestyle pretty deeply since Damon is the owner of a BDSM club and the sexiest Dom in Seattle. The relationship between Emily and Damon happens very fast under pretty intense circumstances but that happens in a lot of books so it isn’t too surprising. Overall I was in the mood for this type of book when I read it, so I really enjoyed it!
Emily Madigan is Seattle's best wedding planner and it's her busiest time of the year so she can't believe it when she gets asked to plan a wedding in just two weeks and to make matters worse her staff are all onboard and the icing on the cake is the future bride and groom want to hold their wedding at the place they met and that means so much to them, Fettered the best BDSM club in town. Damon Black is the owner of Fettered it's his single biggest accomplishment and means so much to him, he lives and breaths the lifestyle and it's everything to him until the second he sees Emily. Emily has no idea what to expect when she walks through the doors of Fettered but she didn't expect Damon. It's obvious the attraction is mutual Emily wants what she sees and Damon wants to let her experience it for the first time but these two are from completely different worlds and so they give themselves a day, twenty-four hours but what happens when the time is up. I absolutely loved this book, the club, the characters and everything and I can't wait for the next book. I don't give 5* often or easily but this came really really close.
Five orgasmic stars! There's nothing better then reading about an intense Dom like Damon Black, owner of Fettered BDSM club and Ms. polite vanilla wedding planner Emily Madigan. Trying to fit into his world over the sake of a club friend's impending nuptials is sinfully hot, wicked and pushes all those sexual boundaries and leaves you craving for more....at least it did for me! Whoa was it HAWT......more please!
#Popsugar 2019 Reto 28. Un libro que incluya una boda
It was good at first, but turned way too syrupy at the end.
What I liked: Awesome explanation of consent and sane, normal presentation of kink.
What I didn't like: Absolutely unrealistic timeline, three words conflict resolution and sugary declarations after 24 hrs of sex and two days of indecision.
The chemistry was quite hot at the beginning, but it completely fizzled out in the middle and the sex scenes felt mechanical and washed out... And it totally pains me, because I love BDSM club settings. The premise was good - the execution wasn't. I'm still going to try other books from the series and see how they go.
I pretty much enjoyed everything about this book from the cover to the epilogue. For a book about BDSM it was oddly sweet and tender with, of course, a dusting of naughty and taboo.
Emily is a super organized wedding planner who agrees to plan a wedding taking place in a BDSM club. Damon, the owner of said club, looks at Emily and sees a born submissive. The problem is she didn't know it at the point. We get to go along for the ride as Damon introduces Emily into his world and watching vivid detail as she succumbs to her submissive desires and puts her trust in him.
Ms. Moon described Emily's transition into submission beautifully. I felt like I was right there with her as she fought the inner battle to put her trust in her dom. I was also right there with Damon as he realized tenderness and power struggles aren't all that bad.
One of my favorite aspects of this book was the way the author incorporated informed consentand all the opportunities Emily was given to say no. One thing that really struck me about this book was the level of trust and awareness between both parties involved. Their chemistry was incredible.
Little known fact about me, I read BDSM books because I appreciate the explicit consent aspect of it, something it seems is often forgotten in many romance novels. What often bothers me about these books is when the relationship seems staged. This book didn't have that problem at all.
Overall, Yield is a sweet and naughty read sure to leave you squirming in your seat. I would recommend it for anyone looking to read something on the risque or taboo side of things.
Emily's a wedding planner. Damon owns a BDSM club. What can possibly happen when Damon's friend wants to get married in his club?
Emily did not know what to expect when she first step in Fettered, Damon's club. Spanking benches, bondage themed nights, public play? Contrary to Damon's expectations, Emily doesn't seem to be repulsed by whatever she's seeing.
"I hear myself whimper. No one else hears me. They’re all watching her pleasure. Her face, lit up with a wild joy as she reaches for what he offers."
Damon is very interested in making Emily his Sub so he offered her a deal, to have her for 24 hours without any distractions from the outside world. But what if 24 hours isn't enough for both of them?
This book uses a more sensual approach towards BDSM. It's rather light with some mentions of toys, spankings and stuff like that. Predictable but its very steamy 🔥
Just really couldn't get into Damon. He just seemed flat and for an all knowing experienced Dom, he sure was stupid. He just didn't do it for me. Emily was ok. I usually like hotness but I skipped stuff, they just didn't light my fire. Oh well many will like it.
This book also needed more editing. Felled is not a word. I am not a stickler for such, but that just sent me over the edge.
Who would've ever thought I would read about a wedding at a BDSM club? Definitely not me... This wasn't my first BDSM book so I did know what I was getting into. But you don't have to worry if this is your first one—the important terms are explained very well and with great care for the story. After only a few chapters it was crystal clear to me this book would become one of my favorite ones. The story was captivating and fast-paced. I loved how the main characters were portrayed and how they interacted with each other in two seemingly incompatible worlds. The chemistry between Emily and Damon was incredible and felt like it was one second away from literally pouring out of the pages. And all of that was perfectly reflected in their dialogues and sex scenes. I will definitely read the next book in this series. So looking forward to it!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. (Thanks, Lilia! ;) ) And because of it, this picture has stuck in my mind after reading about a mutant goldfish vibrator. (No thanks, Lilia! ;) )
DNF @ 42%. Not much chemistry and very stupid plot. Wedding planner heroine meets Dom Hero at his club where her clients want to be married. She immediately has a melt down and almost faints because - get this - women are having orgasms. Guess what? and I kid you not, she has never had an orgasm and of course the Hero immediately offers to help her out. They have their first date a week later where he offers her a written contract to sub under him that coming weekend. No getting to know her hang ups and why she's fucked up. No introduction to the lifestyle. His Dom radar has her all figured out. Come to find out by POV, the heroine has never communicated her needs to any of her previous boyfriends - she expected them to read her body language. Also, we have no idea if they were losers to begin with. And of course she doesn't disclose this information to the Hero.
The initial story idea was good but poorly executed. (I would have liked to see the Dom seduce the heroine incrementally as she came to the club to prepare for the wedding. That would have created a lot of sexual chemistry.) The Hero's POV was fun and informal compared to Doms in other books of this genre.
Re-read 1/24/22: I read and enjoyed the first two books in this series a few years ago but I consumed them during a somewhat traumatic period of my life and I remember very little of what I read during those months. I was impressed to see I actually left a review for this one! I’ve wanted to read the rest of the series but thought I’d refresh my memory first and re-read this one. Lilia Moon’s writing was as immersive as ever and I could scarcely put this down. I did find it slightly less enjoyable the second time around (let’s go with 4.5 stars) but only because the insta-love was more in my face with how quickly Damon and Emily fell for each other. The conflict toward the end felt a little less earned, given Damon’s supposed background and expertise. I also wanted more information about both characters. How did Damon decide to start the club? What did he do before this? How did Emily become a wedding planner and assemble her team? I adored all the secondary characters and I’m excited to see them all get their respective HEAs. I love a good community-oriented found family and this series has that in spades.
Original review: "Equal isn't about being the same. It's about being able to express completely who you are, even if that's radically different, and having it met and held and supported." p. 117
What a fantastic erotic romance! Super steamy and a wonderful story built around a wedding planner and a BDSM club owner. While I'm not always a fan of insta-love stories, the connection Emily and Damon had seemed completely realistic and I also felt like it built organically, even if it was a fast timeline. I really appreciated how patient Damon was with Emily as he introduced her to the world of BDSM and educated her each step of the way. The education piece was vital and what I've found missing in other books that specifically explore BDSM. He made consent sexy as hell! I thoroughly enjoyed this one and can't wait to read more of this series!

Loved this book! Emily is a wedding planner. Damon is the main Dom and owner of a BDSM club. Two of the members want to get married at the club (Fettered) since they fell in love there. Emily does not have an issue with the venue but with the fact that the event is in two weeks. Luckily two of her staff are club members.
Damon meets with Emily and offers to give her a tour of Fettered. He intentionally brings her through an area where the action is on the way to his office. But she doesn't run screaming out the door. She is intrigued and wants to know more about this D/s dynamic. Damon offers her a personal twenty-four hour session in his home.
Emily does not play games and knows she wants Damon. He knows he wants Emily but thinks he knows what is best for her, and it's not him. But in the end, Emily knows best.
It was good; insta-love (can't go wrong). They meet at a BDSM club; H is the owner, and h is a wedding planner hired to plan a wedding at the club. HEA, good smut, and easy read.
Oh wow is this book hot. Whoever thought a BDSM club owner and a wedding planner would have so much in common. Emily is used to making all the decisions in her life but she's unsatisfied. Damon's world seems very different from Emily's but it's surprisingly similar. I don't personally know much about this world either but I love it in this story. Damon isn't perfect but he tries to keep Emily safe and Emily really trusts someone for the first time in her life. They have much to teach each other which makes the best relationships. I was totally sucked in by the wonderful characters and very intriguing world. I received this book early for an honest review. Can't wait to read what happens next.
That is the warning that should be on the front of this read!! Wow! Wet! Wild and freeing.....loved the storyline between the two characters.
All of us are "walking the walk" in different areas of life. For myself I actually gained some insight through their walk......surrender can be a powerful move played out in the right hands. Thanks Lilia Moon
Great story and characters you can easily fall for these two and want so much for them. I'm glad I found this book in my unlimited kindle books and hopefully you will enjoy reading about these characters as well...
This book was recommended to me by a friend, almost as a BDSM 101 type of book. And in that regard, I thought it was a great way to introduce me to the basic ideology, ethics and practices of BDSM. I admit that I've never dove into the genre purposefully before, but of course it comes up in a lot of the romance and erotica books I read, so it was well past time I tried one. This was an excellent way to get started because it did a good job of defining unfamiliar vocab and other things specific to the genre.
The story between the main characters was pretty straightforward instalove, and to me it served the purpose of book. Damon (Fettered Club owner and dom) introduces wedding planner Emily to her sub desires in a 24 hour contract. (Gotta love a sex contract!) But of course, 24 hours isn't enough for these two. This is really a low angst story, and I particularly loved the community aspect built into the Fettered Club employees and the wedding planning people. I immediately got found family vibes, which I always adore.
When you need a break from life and want to try a new author. Surprisingly enjoyable Lilia Moon is a new author to me but I enjoyed Damon and Emily so I will be reading more. I loved Damon and Emily. Emily just had me in chapter one. She was confident in who she was and knew exactly what was missing. She was just vulnerable enough to allow Damon to be able to read her immediately. Damon was such a Dom! He was very alpha and sexy yet you could tell that Emily was going to be a testing puzzle for him. I thought the sex scenes were beautifully erotic. I felt like it was just enough to hook you and want more. The story had everything you could ask for in a great read...romance, laughter, a little edge of your seat sadness and some very hot sex. Give this one a try. It’s so worth your time.
Was captivated from the start! Moon opens up the world of BDSM in a subtle way as of not to scare off the reader at the same time not scaring off her main female, Emily. It makes you want to find your own Dom to care for your every need as Damon is found doing. It could have included a little bit more detail about the characters to help organize my storyline, however, this is a series so i am sure the next books dive into the other characters more in depth. This was the first book read by this author and will be searching for more.
I love when I'm surprised. This was a free ebook at iTunes and Amazon. These free books let me down 99% of the time. But one very well written will sneak in every so often and I guess that's why I keep giving them a try. This was a super quick read, but it handled the BDSM world in a refreshing light. I really liked this book.
I really wanted to like it… not a fan of the writing style. I found it difficult to want to follow. I did like the fact that the female lead wasn’t a punk push over and that she wasn’t weak. But overall the book felt like it was an authors first time.
Well-written and witty, when an uptight wedding planner is seduced into exploring what BDSM can do for her, by a sexy Dom who finds himself distracted and doing a lot of soul-searching as he finds her trust and honesty challenging in ways he didn’t expect. There’s a good cast of characters, some steamy interactions between H & h, and mild spanking – nothing too deep or dark.
Contemplating this book after reading it and in particular who Damon is written as a character, I had this snippet of a song by Heart on repeat running through my head. This character, Damon, the Master Dom, might be my ideal fantasy man. "I don’t know Damon at all— and yet I do. I know he watches me like the world depends on it. I know he’s sure of himself bordering on arrogant and that he’s quick to admit when he’s wrong. He laughs at himself easily and overflows with tenderness and loves to cuddle and knows exactly how to fit my body to his even when he’s asleep. I know he’s wild, fierce, passionate, demanding, and generous in ways I’ve just begun to see. I want to see more. I want a chance to get to know all of Damon Black and I want him to get to know more of me." The author speaks of him through Emily's late night musings. This book is like one long sexy erotic love scene. On display is the breathless beauty of the genuinely Dominant male and his controlled passion, the responsibility he feels to his partner to mention nothing of the devotion he feels to one who is beloved. Emily is like wholesome sunshine and a ripe strawberry. The meeting of these two worlds is exciting and interesting in the negotiations. Many macho manly men who think they are God's gift to woman would do well to read this book and understand how a true Master Dominant man holds power over his partner, his woman. It is joyfully freely lovingly excitedly given with adoring trust. This power exchange takes them both to places some only dare to dream about. Phew, got that off my chest. Really this book has some incredible "scene" writing, have a broad mind going in (it's only fiction), learn and you will enjoy. "The pieces of Emily Madigan shatter and I go with them, absolutely sure I can do this. Absolutely certain he will catch me. I am a million molecules of fire and starfall because he believes I can be." Beautiful writing, yes?
Overall I really enjoyed this scorching hot BDSM read. I liked that it had a good balance of scenes and other plot/story. The nature of the plot meant that a lot of the 'heat' was in one large section/chunk. Thankfully the author added relaxed scenes within this, allowing the reader time to digest and 'come down' from the intensity of the BDSM. This book really held my attention from the off, the writing is very good and the story just flowed, carrying me easily along in it's wake.
I liked both Damon and Emily, neither was perfect, both made mistakes, leaving them feeling human and allowing you to relate to them. Their chemistry was intense and for once I didn't even mind that it was virtually a case of insta-love. For some reason, probably because the majority of the book involves joint scenes, I could believe in the deep of those emotions.
There was only one thing that irked me, and that was Damon's 'make or break' scene. I get that he is a high profile Dom but that doesn't mean he needed to do a very public scene so quickly with Emily. Not on their second time together as Dom and sub, nor one with an audience of 20 people. What would have been the problem with privately scening with her at his club, whilst they got to know each other and build a relationship? His issue was whether she could survive the (possible) public scrutiny of being his girlfriend/sub, but that didn't really explain why she had to be able to do a public scene with him in his club.
However I loved 95% or more of this book, so am not only happy to recommend it but will definitely read more by this author.
