I liked the story at first, but then it just lost its gusto. It touched on so many topics, but then just brushed over them. The villain needed more explanation and development and how could she kill a royal? For being a "Royal" Luca sure didn't have the characteristics of a ruler or a dominant. He never seemed to take charge and if there was a hierarchy like explained then none of what happened should have.
Oh well....it did have cool dragon shifters and hot sex!

I absolutely adored this book! I read ARCs all the time and unfortunately not many are well written. Cecilia Lane is new to me. I very much enjoyed her dragon story and hope for more! Written well and I didnt find any issues with the book. No errors that I could see. Sweet dragon romance.
Luca is a reluctant future Dragon King to take over for his father when he steps down. Although, its not for some time he has to find a mate and make her his consort. He is still mourning his brother Leo's death and felt his brother should have been King. His parents are pressuring him pretty hard to find someone or they will arrange someone for him. He finds his mate at least he's pretty sure but because of a fire at the club he...only to find her later. Penelope is a sweet human woman. She's recently been burned by love and just wants to stop trying. Her friend Vera wont let her sit and be a cat lady. She meets Luca and is smitten. Their chemistry is off the charts and wow those were some hot love scenes. Not everyone is happy about his choice in mate and Penny is taken from him by a psycho ex lover. Can he get to her in time? Will Penny be accepted as his mate?

Smokin' quick read This was a hot little read, I really enjoyed the story of Penelope and Luca. Action packed and steamy sex scenes, who could ask for more, in fact I have added the rest of the series to my TBR shelf and I look forward to reading more of Cecilia Lane's work.

I was offered an ARC by the author,
I just want to say i loved this book it really had no flaws at all, the pace was perfect the characters likeable without lingering on and on and on about past stuff which to be honest is one of my pet hates. I really could not put this one down and was a real pleasure to read i really hope and look foreward to more off the author as she is clearly a talented up and coming author and can only get better.

3.5 stars. Fun quick read
I came upon this title as a recommendation from another title I had one-clicked on, so I gave it a go. Seems the timing was just right for me to be able to escape into a fantasy world where diversity is accepted and love conquers all. Now, if only the real world could get on board with that.

Erotica with a happy ending
The pages of sex got old; I actually skimmed the last. There is instalust, an obvious villain, and a happy ending. I liked the puns!
A few sentences could use more editing. The heroine's insecurity was irritating.

Luca de Rege, heir to the dragon throne after the death of his brother, entered his penthouse and smelled steak cooking. His bear shifter friend, Carson, was there to welcome him home after his brother’s funeral. Luca’s parents insisted he find a mate before they passed the throne to him, and he was not thrilled with that idea. Carson recommended the Fated Hearts Club to look for a mate, which again was not to Luca’s liking. But Carson grabbed his computer and showed him the women who would be there, humans who already knew they were shifters looking for their mates. So Luca agreed to be signed up – that was better than his parents’ threat of picking a mate for him!
Vera was going through dress choices with Penny. Penny was a home-body who was happy to avoid the social life. Her last boyfriend was a cheating jerk, so she was still getting over that betrayal. But Vera told her that shifters who found their soul mates were extremely loyal, and that would remove a big worry from her mind.
Vera ran off to check out the men at the club while Penny sat at the bar alone. A handsome man sat next to her and they started a light-hearted banter about the perfect sized family. It was quite enjoyable for both of them, until a fire alarm went off and everyone left the building. Luca lost track of her and tried to find her, but Penny caught a cab and went home.
Luca tracked her down at her work. He took her to dinner and they spent the night together at his penthouse. Penny allowed herself to think of a future with him . . . until a woman let herself in with a key and blatantly intimidated her. Luca said she was an ex but the woman said that was not true. Thinking history was repeating itself with the betraying boyfriend, Penny ran away. Luca had not gotten to tell her how important she was to him and what kind of future she could have. Would she give him another chance? Or was this too much for her to forgive?
There is so much more going on in this book! It’s a great story with wonderful characters. I highly recommend reading this one. You can never go wrong with dragons!!

So I rated and reviewed this book an Amazon but didn't go in to it too much. So here is my honest and full review.
I absolutely loved this book. It's different, exciting and worth the read. I love the fact that shifters and humans can go and look for their fated mates in a club or even just have company for the night. Given the chance that this was real life and shifters did exist I'd love for this to happen to me :).
So luca, just mean wow what more could you ask for. Though I did feel sorry for the situation that befell him I'm so glad he found penny got it all sorted out. Complete with drama, hot sex and love :) the man is a fantasy that's for sure.
Penny is that girl you always wished you could be or have as that friend, the curvy beauty, who yes was broken hearted and betrayed but pushed through that for a fated mate to ensure her happiness.
I am thorough impressed with this start of the series and am excited to read the rest. Thank you Cecilia Lane for the opportunity to sink my teeth jn to this. It has picked me up after my ridiculously to long time away from my favourite place in the world and have already and will be recommending this book to all that I know :) x

Such an intense story!
Great story with strong characters. The story moves along at such a fast pace that before I knew it I was sadly at the end and could of been with these characters forever I was so attached. Great action in this book that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The sex is very steamy and love it! The only thing I can say bad about this book was it too short . I would of liked it to be a bit longer, I read it so fast. The story moves along great , the passion level is a 10 ! No cliff hanger and a happy ending. A great book , I truly enjoy a love story that has all of the elements this book has. This is a book you don't want to miss out on if you like Dragon shifter romance.

“Burning for the Dragon” a fantastic short read. This story involves a handsome dragon prince who needs a mate before he can be king and a beautiful human who has given up on a love life. They meet at a Fated Hearts club and are instantly attracted. This well-written story continues with danger, betrayal, kidnapping, incredible sex and romance. Don't miss this book. “Burning for the Dragon” is worth every minute of your time.

Enjoyable
Penny and Luca's story is not a straightforward affair.
Murder, kidnapping and a thirst for power try to get in the way.
Great story to read on a rainy day curled up on the lounge.
Only one negative, the scene in the shower, was too long,
I started to worry about their water bill. lol.😃

fabulous read. exciting, sexy, fast paced, real characters, makes u feel like u are living the story along with the characters. hot sex scenes, romance, alpha males who make mistakes, curvy bigger women who are insecure. wow can't say enough how much i love this book and others by this same author. highly recommended for anyone who loves romance, sex, love and shifters.

Luca's brother, heir to the throne, was killed, now he is being forced to take a mate...let the hunt begin...at the Fated Hearts Club? Really? 😘 Loved it!

Superficial dragon mate story, there wasn't much deep thought into a plotline. The villain was insane but most of the time coherent, so she could have come up with a more logical plan. It's a book to read to pass the time.

I enjoyed this first book in the Fated Hearts Club series. Luca and Alexa were a good pair together. What would have made this better would have been for Alexa to introduce him to her family...lol.

Quick read...
