This beautiful and affordable book showcases the cultural and natural history of the Badger State. Darryl Beers travels to every corner of Wisconsin, documenting historic lighthouses, quirky folk-art displays, verdant dairy farms, and charming communities. As you turn the pages of this unique tribute to Wisconsin, you can tour a nineteenth-century church; watch barges move up the mighty Mississippi River; visit an Eagle River ice palace; and take in a fiery sunset on Lake Michigan.
The photographer and I have a different 'eye.' None of these wonderful images evoked a sense of home. A slim volume, not even big enough, or rich enough, for a coffee table.
I just realized: I don't think I saw any people in the images. Home means community, not just setting, imo.
