Published in 1989, this is the first of a series of stories featuring Captain Scarlet.
It is approximately 110 pages long, fast and furious, action-packed, and features the main cast and all the gadgets and equipment.
The Mysterons vow to create havoc by altering weather conditions to dramatic effect. They will use the Dahl Ray, developed by wayward genius Professor Stahndahl, by Mysteronising him.
NOTE: We don't really need the Mysterons to do this, as we are doing a good job of it ourselves.
The story takes us to hidden secret laboratories, into space on an XL spaceship, to Mexico, and around the Arctic and Lapland.
You forget that all the characters are from a marionette TV series. It's a good read

I actually had a great time reading this. The Mysterons basically find a way to disrupt weather patterns, causing planet wide chaos. So it’s up to Spectrum to find out how they’re doing this and to stop them. Captain Scarlet actually “dies” (or nearly died) a good 2/3 times during the course of the story.
Honestly? If you’re a fan of the show, you could do worse than to read this. It’s a fun read, for extra adventures outside of the TV series.

An exciting and wonderfully read audiobook of one of the Captain Scarlet novelisations written by John Theydon.
David Graham, Wayne Forrester and Elizabeth Morgan all do a fantastic job in bringing the characters to life and really drew me into the story.
My only critique is that I found some of the music and sound effects to be a little distracting.

An enjoyable recreation of one of the Captain Scarlet books featuring great production values as ever from Big Finish. David Graham is a fab narrator and Wayne Forester and Liz Morgan do a great job of voicing the characters. I initially found it strange listening to some of the characters but was quickly absorbed into the story.
