Tony Stark invents his greatest creation yet—an iron suit that protects him from danger! At first, he keeps it a secret. But when he sees the power of his new suit, Tony must decide: is the world ready for the truth about Iron Man?
We really enjoyed this one today. Perfect level two book, just the right about of difficult words and length was just right. Also, the story was interesting. Even I have a thing for Iron Man. Think it's the brains in him. Or maybe that Robert Downy Jr. plays him. :)
As bland as you could imagine, with no real storyline, and illustrations that still manage to be kind of scary. Not the best, unless your kid is already in love with Iron Man, in which case it will probably be awesome. ("I am I-un Man. Dunna dunna!" is a garbled theme song one might hear often if this is the case.)
This book is perfectly written with short sentences and vocabulary for a second-grade reader or an older reader who still needs practice. Kids will likely come to this book already knowing who Tony Stark is, and even if they don't, they have seen or read other action-adventures with similar premises: normal guy has/builds/uses superpowers and becomes a superhero.
Tony built a suit and he called it Iron Man because it looked like a man and the machine is made out of iron. Iron Man saved a person by taking them off of a building with fire burning it.
