Secrets, kinks and unfinished business…

Evie’s world turns upside down when she finds a naked stranger in her shower with mysterious ties to her boyfriend’s past. She and Ross have never kept secrets, until now.

Taking risks isn’t Ross’s style – not anymore – but he’s never been able to say no to Kit. Memories of their wild adventures still spice up his sexual fantasies – fantasies that could cost him Evie’s love, if she knew.

Meanwhile, bad boy Kit knows he’s playing fast and loose with Ross and Evie’s relationship, but he’s convinced the risk is worth it. As their lives become entangled, and past mysteries resurface and grow legs in their sleepy rural community, their loyalties to one another are put to the test. Can three people ever form a stable relationship, especially if they’re not all telling the truth?

I've now read this four times (so far) and even though I know the story so well it never fails to hold my attention.

I love Ross, he is the glue in the unlikely relationship between the three main characters, and I do like his sexy boy-next-door persona hiding his less than vanilla sexual fantasies. Kit is just fan-me-I'm-melting gorgeous and I thoroughly enjoy a bad boy, especially when he might not actually be one.

Some reviewers have mentioned that they don't think Evie is a particularly strong character, but I think that's the point. She's very much the girl next door, pretty and curvy but with no real comprehension of her assets, which is precisely what makes her so attractive to both Ross and Kit, and identifiable with by female readers.

The sexual tension runs very high, to say nothing of the deeds themselves, and I do like hot sexy time, of which is there is plenty here, and varied.

As for some other readers finding the ending a little tame, I disagree. Sometimes the biggest mysteries in real life turn out to be a lot less than we thought at the time. Not everything is high drama, but living in a small rural community there is a lot of scope to make more out of something than is actually there. I thought this was well done and rang true for me.

This is one of my top return-to reads, hence the 5 stars.

This is an M/M/F read that gives you characters that really draw you in. It is very erotic and it will have you taking a few cold showers. Ross and Evie were boyfriend and girlfriend who had finally been able to be in a home together and alone. No more roommates for them…Not. To set the tone for this book the very opening has you getting on board the lust bus right away. Evie gets home to a running shower and wants to surprise Ross by getting that shower with him. Surprise, surprise!! It’s not Ross but his best friend who has been away for a few years, Kit. And oh, my, Kit is one beautiful specimen of a man. Ross never told Evie that Kit was going to be staying with them for a bit.

As you can guess these three hookup but it ends up becoming more than just a hookup because there are strong feelings all around. Kit was accused of something years ago that made him leave Ross behind but now it was time to come back and face the music. Will Evie tire of having to share her boyfriend with his past? What was it that Kit was running from and who is trying to make Kit pay for past transgressions? Is Ross actually caught in the middle of his past and his future? You definitely can’t be shy about ménage a trois because this book will take you to the limit sometimes.

Enticement by Madelynne Ellis was a very good read. But...

The first half of Enticement was extremely good. The heat level between the three main characters was beyond sizzling. Then suddenly, the book seemed to have a very tepid feel to it. This was almost immediately after the first "Menage" has been accomplished.

There was far more time spent on the back-story of "Kit" than with Ross and Evie. Understandably, Kit's back-story was necessary, but I would have liked to know more about Ross and Evie.

Enticement ended for me very wrong. It seemed very contrived. I don't want to give the ending away, but I truly wish that Ms. Ellis had not taken the "easy" ending on this one. Through much of the book, I was sure it was going to end differently and the ending that we received was really let down. Too easy and too expected.

Overall, Enticement earns a solid 4 stars for me. Had the heat level been maintained and not dropped so dramatically, it could have been a 4 1/2 in my opinion.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of Enticement for the purpose of reviewing for my own site, Amazon and other review sites such as Goodreads.

The very first MMF book I ever read was written by Madelynne Ellis years ago and to this day it is still one of my all time favorites, so I was super excited to receive this ARC. Ross & Evie have been a couple who up until now lived in small flats with others. They finally get a place of their own and are really excited to get on with their lives as a couple in love in the small town they grew up in. Evie comes home from work and discovers a stranger in the shower, literally when she decided to join him thinking it is Ross, instead she learns that the hot, gorgeous guy is an old schoolmate of her fiancee. Christopher "Kit" Skye returns from a long absence to the town he grew up in due to a scandal to settle the estate of his aunt that passed away. Ross forgot to tell Evie that he extended the invitation to Kit to stay with them in the meantime. Anyone who has ever read Ms Ellis will know that Kit is everything we love her for, outrageously sexy, unapologetic, ruthless at times and absolutely panty-melting. However the scandal is back in the forefront and Evie is in turmoil, trying to hide her feeling for Kit, who doesn't bother hiding his for her, Ross is keeping secrets and put in the middle in more ways than one. The only disappointment for me is the scandal which was so much part of the story gets glossed over at the end and the state of Kit is not expanded on.The story still has everything I expect from Madelynne. As stated I recieved an ARC in exchange for an honest review

I really liked this book. No one does m/m/f ménages like Madelynne Ellis.

Kit is the character that made this story for me. I'm generally not too hot on bad boy characters, but he's written in such a way that I found him intriguing and exciting. He's got honorable qualities, while at the same time he’s not afraid to pushs the envelope with people.

I also liked the continuous thread of some deep dark secret that Kit and Ross were keeping. That's part of what kept me reading this story.

I will agree with others that the first half or 3/4 of the book is quite steamy and that it drops off. However, in my perspective, I was getting a bit tired of all the sexcapades and wanted to know the real story, what was going on with the characters outside of the sexual/romantic dynamic.

So the last half for me is when it started getting really interesting due to getting the big secret and more about what made Kit tick.

Evie is a character that I couldn't get on board with too much, although I think she fits perfectly in this story. She's just a bit too flaky with what seems like no control over her libido. But that's probably the type of female character that was needed to give this threesome a chance.

I liked Ross almost as much as Kit. He seems to be more of a beta type, more easy going and less complex than Kit. However, his softer personality was also instrumental in the three being able to work things out. Rather than Evie, he was the glue that managed to bind the three I think. I also liked that while he was into Kit, wanted Kit, it was important to him to keep things going well with Evie

The ambience of this story is quite dark, which is another trait of Ms. Ellis' writing that I really enjoy. She doesn't skirt around going into darker human emotional territory and that gives this book an edgy feel that's more appealing than the usual in ménage. To me anyway.

ETA 9/9/12

I originally read this book last November and I've read a lot of mmf menage books since then. I've been adding reviews after the fact so I did a reread. This is a darn good book and stands above a lot of the books I've read since the original read.

Evie and Ross have a stable 3-year relationship and Evie is moving towards nesting and she and Ross are finally in a place of their own. They each have their own kinks that they encourage in each other. Along comes Kit an old mate of Ross'. Kit was introduced in a shorty Woe in Kabukicho by Madelynne Ellis .

Ross and Kit have unfinished business, secrets and kinks of their own to work through. Evie is very attracted to Kit and doesn't want to be unfaithful but Ross seems to be very willing to share.

I really liked reading this book again and it's getting added to my comfort reads shelf.

I love this book all the way to the end...then it sort of fizzled for me. I was intrigued by the dark-ish tone of the book. The writing was slightly reminiscent of Megan Hart. I thought there might be a good chance there would be no happy ending.

I was just a little surprised at how quickly it wrapped up...it was like everything unfolded all at once and I didn't buy the pretty little bow that tied it all up at the end.

I looked forward to this book because it seemed to have an edge to it that so many menage stories do not have. I would rather rate this book as 3.5 because I did enjoy this book and recommend it. The suspense is good throughout and the heat level is very high. This is where I have a problem. Personally, I think the heat level is too much in the first half, although a certain high level is necessary to tell the story and develop the characters. I was a bit put off with Evie and her inability to control her libido in the beginning. I like the heroine to be strong with an equally strong libido but still retain the ability to say no when she knows she should. The ending was a HEA which I like.
Again, this was a good read for me and I will be reading Ms. Ellis's other books.

Enticement was Really good. The heat level between the three main characters was beyond sizzling. ménage à trois story, with one woman and two men of course, with the men also providing some hot guy on guy loving for everyone's entertainment. there is much focus on the emotional and sexual aspects of the relationship between Evie,Ross and Kit. Really love it an will be re-reading it many times. :)

I bought this book a while back and it kept being pushed to the back of my Kindle as new books were purchased. Oh, how I am regretting that now.

I loved the build up as the three main characters came together. It made for a hot read and one I'll likely come back to in the future!

I might be over-rating this. But I remember quite liking it. It's very British. The sex was quite hot. The threesome didn't feel forced. Overall it worked for me, it's probably a solid 3.5/4 stars.

Ross, Kit, & Evie.

Ross invites his best friend Kit to stay with him and his girlfriend Evie. Ross and Kit are from the same small town, but a scandal sent Kit running to Japan six years ago. Evie is from a different town, and knows little of Kit before finding him naked in her shower. (Ross forgot to warn her of Kit’s arrival.). Kit and Ross are awfully relaxed about their naked embrace, Kit watching Ross & Evie have sex on the couch, and Evie storming up to give Kit a piece of her mind only to find him masterbaiting.

Kit spins a tale of Kit and Ross sharing a woman during a camping trip, but Evie doesn’t quite believe him. Kit has a way about him. He communicates through sex, no matter what the emotion he’s expressing, no matter what the act, or who he’s with. Evie is drawn to him like no other man since she’s been with Ross. She dreams Kit climbs in bed with them and covers her body, initiating sex while Ross sleeps on.

While Kit is pushing Evie’s boundaries with kisses and fingering, he’s also pushing Ross’ boundaries with phone sex. Kit wants them both, wants them not as a fling but as a forever thing. Evie is strongly attracted to both men, but can’t contemplate how things could work between them, despite Kit’s story. That is, until she finds Ross fucking Kit. And she doesn’t hate it.

Kit reminds me a bit of early Nathaniel [in the Anita Blake series] in his way of turning everything to sex. Though Kit has a dominant vibe, not a submissive one.

*****

Also read the bonus short, “Woe in Kabukicho”, which according to the author’s note, “gave birth to Kit”. In other words, it’s Kit working as a host in Japan. 4 stars, as well.

I received an ARC of this book in return for leaving an honest review. I would seriously recommend this book.

"Enticement is a hot hot hot MMF ménages à trois. Two gorgeous blokes and one girl is really the only way for fantasy romance surely. This book is one hell of a sexy, smart and dirty romance with lots of twists and turns. I spent my entire day with Evie, Ross and Kit and did not get anything else done!!

No spoilers from me. Let's just say if you are a fan of superb writing and some make ya break a sweat sex scenes then thus book is definitely for you.

This felt a little unbalanced in both the time spent on steam vs plot but also the characterisation was more Kit heavy than Evie & Ross. I think the secrets & suspense side was going well, adding something to balance the steaminess but then it just fizzled with no conclusion. I have no clue if they were 24 or any other age above that, I'm guessing at 18 + 6 years away but the before Japan parts didn't specify ages. It also reminded me if why I left my small village!

Fantastic and you will not stop reading

This is truly remarkable. Ross and Kit being best friends with a torrid past. Kit coming back into the life os Ross and Evie. Just reading their history and what it did to the guys. Now he is back and what the three of them so makes your mouth water for hours. The details in the writing makes you feel like you are in the room

Ok

While I read it in one day and the few interactions between Ross and Kit were super hot I never really liked Evie that much it was like she was extra not really part of the trio.

This was my first Madelynne Ellis story. While it wasn't a super great read for me, I did enjoy it enough to buy another of her books. I love MMF stories alot generally, and I can't really put my finger on why it wasn't a home run for me. It was truly steamy, had some darker aspects to hit but something about their relationship did hit all cylinders. In any case, I will definitely read more from Ms. Ellis.

Ross and Evie finally move out into their own place together away from roommates. They are very much in love. They have all kinds of kinky sex. She comes home from work one day thinking Ross is in the shower. She goes to join him (clothes on) to find out its his best mate Kit. What a way to meet him, ha! She instantly feels an attraction to him which she knows is so wrong.
This book is about Ross and Evie and...Kit. This is all about M/F, M/F/M, M/M. I thought this book would turn me off with the guys going at it, but it was written so tasteful that it didn't bother me. There are bits of British words throughout the book, but its understandable.
Lots of things unfold that are very intriguing to this story. Romance, Erotic Romance, Drama, Suspense, its all in there. Not a dull moment in reading this. This was my first read of Madellyne Ellis and I am now a definite fan!

Enticement is a steamy M/M/F ménage romance with a fabulous storyline and great characters. I never quite knew where the storyline was going, it was unpredictable with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. I read a lot of ménage romance books and they sometimes blur together as they often follow the same formula, but Enticement stood out from the crowd. Kit, Ross and Evie's relationship wasn't easy sailing - there were plenty of misunderstandings, secrets and jealousy that made the relationship feel realistic.

As I've come to expect from this author, the writing was great and felt effortless. I've read a few of Madelynne Ellis' books now, and this one is definitely my favourite. Her characters are unique, well rounded and you can relate to them and their lives.

Kit was a fascinating, larger than life character - and even when I didn't agree with his actions, I couldn't help liking him. The chemistry between all three main characters was electric, they were so hot together! I also enjoyed the element of mystery regarding Ross and Kit's past, and I liked the way that the author kept Evie and the reader guessing about this. Enticement is a thoroughly satisfying story that receives four and a half stars.

Oh my god! This book is HOT, HOT, HOT!!! I am a huge fan of Madelynne Ellis and the Black Halo books so when I had the opportunity to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review, I jumped at the chance. Enticement is the story of Evie and Ross and their new houseguest. Mystery surrounds Kit and the small town is not exactly welcoming to their prodigal son. Kit is a sexy treat of a man who neither Ross nor Evie can resist but is also enigmatic and shrouded in mystery. The Kit that Evie gets to know is a sweet man and Ross's best friend, not the evil doer their small town believes him to be. Before long, Kit has seduced both, torn them in knots and has them feeling terribly guilty. Luckily, it doesn't take the threesome long to figure out they work in their own unique way. I loved the relationship between Ross and Evie. They have a wonderful, loving relationship and it makes perfect sense why Evie would feel so much guilt over her attraction to another man. Ross is an engaging and committed lover and once Kit is added to their sexual relationship it practically burns the pages it's so hot. What makes this book so enjoyable is not just its sensuality but how this ménage evolves into a loving supportive trio. Sensual and sweet, Enticement was a great read and I couldn't tear myself away! Enjoy!

I really liked the first 1/2 of this book, and the dynamics between the characters were interesting. I will say that the heat level in the first half was intense, but then once they all got together it just seemed to fizzle. It was like Ellis didn't know where to take the story once that happened. This was really unfortunate given the build up she was creating. Even the big reveal at the end wasn't fully explained leaving things unsettled for me This aside, I did like the characters but Ross and Kit more so than Evie. She took everything a bit too much in stride for my liking. I did however like how each had their own little kinks they enjoyed, but I was a little bugged that for how open Ross and Evie were with each other sexually that they wouldn't have talked more once Kit came into their lives and started to shake things up. Overall though this was a solid 3 star for me and I would definitely give Ellis another chance in the future. :)

Seriously Madelynne... you can't write a book I don't like. It's impossible! Enticement is a re-release that I hadn't yet read. I'm sorry I waited so long. Kit is definitely one of my favorites. He is quirky and fun. He is also sensual and sweet. He is a great characters. I liked Ross too, but Kit really stole the show for me. Erie I liked too, but she didn't take favorite leading lady from Dani. She is a sweetie though and I liked reading her POV.
The story had really good flow and great banter between the characters. It was one I couldn't put down and I flew threw very quickly. I think the only thing that bugged me about it was the conclusion to the climax or action portion of the story. I know it's a small town... trust me from one... but still even if they wanted things to simmer down I wish they would have held someone responsible or at least gotten an apology or compensation something. That was a big project for Kit and I was upset for him. Lol, it really bugged me. I was mad that that happened to him. Lol, I took it personally I guess. Overall, it was an awesome story and I am so glad I read it. I just wish I hadn't waited so long.

Enticement starts off with a lovely 'wet' tease of an encounter but soon stops teasing and goes full steam ahead. And boy was there some steam. Ellis is a master of hot but balanced menage, bringing equal parts heat and story and leaving you loving everything and wanting more. Kit is every woman's walking wet dream and some men's as well. I particularly enjoyed the back and forth between Kit and Ross. My only complaint was a small one about the at times confusing flashbacks/stories that pulled me out of the story but thankfully I was able to quickly get back in and continue racing through this one-sitting read. You won't want to put this delicious treat down. If you haven't started reading it already, get going. You won't be disappointed.

I really enjoyed this story until the end. The teasing of the mystery surrounding Kit's reasons on moving to Japan and the mystery of Sammie was so good throughout the book until the last chapter. The resolution was such a disappointment. I am trying to not spoil the story but it was like the build up was awesome and then the resolution was like a two second thought and no explanation was really given. Such a let down. And then the fact that Kit has a traumatic experience and decides to let the "bad guys" off the hook because he just wants to move on was so lame. I don't know if the author was trying to meet a deadline or what but the ending seriously lacked big time.
