Children attending our pre-school library story time enjoyed this information book. Our two performers took turns reading the pages.
#1 "Tremendous, chuggy tractors, so sturdy and so strong,"
#2 "hitching up to farm machines and pulling them along."

There are lots of opportunities to engage them in large motor movements -- rolling hands (for tires), roll fingers (harrow crunches), roll arms (roller tube), poking fingers forward in the air (seed drill), chopping motion with one hand on palm of other hand (mower), show muscles (baler). Just use your imagination.

My aged 2.5 child LOVES this book and "reads" it over and over again. This version has paper pages so it is not suitable for younger or unsupervised children. The book explains as simply as it can the various equipment typically used behind a tractor in a grain field from sowing to harvest time and also goes over some of the tractor parts. The pages are colorfully illustrated so although my child doesn't understand how everything works he is enthralled by the book's pictures.

Tremendous Tractors talks about all the important things a tractor does on a farm. It talks about its big tires and all the different attachments it uses to do different jobs. A glossary of tractor parts can be found in the back describing what each part does.
This could be used for talking about big, bigger, biggest.
Also, emerging readers can decode words by using pictures.

This whole series is awesome. Squirt can now say "plow", and "harrow", and has his first introduction to why tractors are so useful. He loves it.
