I love classic ghost stories! Imagine the creepy shadows and unease, with the sudden chills, and a sense of the unknown. Ghost stories are probably my favorites in the supernatural fiction stories. The introduction page of this book was great! Because it send chills down my spine. This book contains a compilation of 6 classic ghost stories by renowned authors. The list of short stories are as following:-

1. The Furnished Room by O. Henry

2. The Judge's House by Bram Stoker

3. The Lost Ghost by Mary E. Wilkins Freeman

4. The Portrait-Painter's Story by Charles Dickens

5. The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde

6. The Phantom Rickshaw by Rudyard Kipling

Why I love to read classic books is because it stood the test of time. These are the books in which we still find characters, experiences, emotions and perspectives that is still relevant today. Classic novels are the gateway to the past. Do you agree with me? ;)

Since these are short stories, I do not want to get into much detail and give it out. I really enjoyed reading this, as it contained all the Victorian gothic and horror elements that I adore in such stories. Each author's writing is really captivating and it manages to keep me at the edge of my seat. Recommended to both adults and children.

I enjoyed these short stories written by classic authors. Each story started with a brief intro on the author and how that specific piece came to be. I can see where these stories have built into our modern day tropes.
I also enjoyed the illustrations that went with the stories. I think they aligned well with the main point and conveyed the haunted image well.
With all anthologies though I had favorites and least favorites but overall this was a solid 3 star read for me.
