Jessica Erickson's never been one to run from her problems, but she has no choice this time. The only way to escape her cheating, mentally abusive ex-husband is to flee her beloved second home in Russia for the dusty, hot Cairo desert. It's the absolute last place in the world she would actually want to go, but the only option available to her. Unfortunately, the sand isn't the camouflage she hoped it was and her stalker ex is still able to track her down. Egypt isn't as terrible as she had initially believed though. She lucks upon a chance meeting with Conner Locke, who's as hot as the Sahara and determined to show her the beauty in what she finds ugly. Not just in Cairo, but in herself. As a therapist, she knows that rebound relationships never last, but she can't stop from tumbling head over heels for him. But Conner's own demons might shred their new happiness before either one of them get the chance to believe it's truly real.
Thoughts: Another cute, clean story! The confusing part is that Conner and Jessica were in the end of the first book but that could mean that all the boys find their loves at the same time. Although Blake seemed to lose his during this book so who knows. Anyway, this was just as fast paced as the first book but just as exciting. The descriptions again made me feel like I was actually there. Thankfully I wasn't or I would be one hurtin' girl (redhead with fair skin... need I say more). I like how a brother or two will show up but it's only for a few pages, so we get to see how close they really are and so different. I'm not going to pick one yet but so far I'm liking Lukas the best but we'll see what happens once I meet all the brothers!
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book from in exchange for an honest review. This is such a sweet tale. It was hard to put this one down once I started. Jessica is a good female character. She is smart, funny and string. Conner is the ideal lead man in that he is gorgeous, attentive and loving. They both have their own demons to battle in order to grow and it truly enhances the story. Conner’s did worry me a little, as it made him seem like Jessica was basically going from one obsessive man to another though. The author did do a good job with the story and it was clear with the ending that the couple was well suited and happy. It is a clean romance with a HEA.
Conner can't seem to move past his past while Jessica Dan seem to get hers to leave her alone. Again Kimberly writes another beat story that's I can't seem to get enough of.
I was given review for an honest review, thank you!
This is second book in the series of Omega Mu Alpha Brothers. I have read the first one and really enjoyed it, thus starting this one was a wonder will I like it the same and how the story will be handled. Well, you can see my star rating...
This book is about an expat arriving in Cairo and setting to work in embassy as a therapist. She is freshly divorce and not sure will she like Egypt as she does not like sand and heat so much! She already knows she is missing her last home in Russia and although it was more as necessity to move away from there than her choice, she has no option given as to find new friends and live on her own. This story touches topics such as mental health, broken loves, self-esteem, emotional and physical abuse, strengths, fear, falling in love and finding new friendships. Of course romance starts when one of the Omega Mu Alpha Brothers steps in and swirls the story in sudden decisions, wealthy - non-materialistic troubles, jumps and enjoying " the moment's" aka falling for someone.
There is drama, high peak climaxes in the plot, there's quick solution at the end. My rating is two-starred mostly because I found the book a little bit unrealistic, I could clearly see how the plot focused only between two main characters - Jess and Conner. I felt there were more chances to indulge in the side - embassy characters, Conner's brother, Jessica's family, as well, the potential of the story was not fully discovered. I found Jess character a little bit annoying, perhaps with self-esteem issues she at times I could not understand her at all. Maybe it is just me - perhaps, you think this was a great read, perhaps you really enjoyed Jess and Conner's story, cos there are very many great reviews! :) I don't like the cover, could not associate with the characters.
Jess & Connor- I’ve been looking forward to their story!
Clean, easy to read romance
Like the rest of the series it has no smut but plenty of romance and adventures.
I wish the book was longer and that there was more encounters with tommy, the ‘Ms’, tje driver. And more details about Connor’s work and closure with his ex.
Based in Egypt the description and obvious background knowledge of the author made it feel like I was there
I love that his brother Jamie & Blake made an appearance even if it was only short.
I would love a finale epilogue of all the brothers reuniting on a Fourth of July when everyone is finally all coupled. I want to know if Jess & Connor ever get married and what their opinions are about kids which was alluded to in book 7 epilogue.

I had hoped we'd learn why Conner and Jessica have been together the longest but have never married. It appears that's something they both want, so why have they remained single? And my curiosity about why Jessica and Nour look so much alike hasn't been nearly satisfied. There HAS to be a story there....??? I really enjoyed this series. Will we ever get David's and Seth's stories??
1. Connor and Jessica 2. Grayson and Dani 3. Hayden and Anna 4. Lukas and Tess 5. Seth 6. David 7. Blake and Paige 8. Bethany and Jamie (and Garrett) 9. Adam and Snow (Liz) 10. Mia and Tristan
Listening to Jess and Conner's relationship after she first arrived in Cairo trying to get away from her husband is every girls dream. From the very beginning he looks after her, shows her around and surprises her with things she loves and doesn't buy. Her ex is a well resourced man and breaks in together her apartment. Conner sends his security to key an eye on Jess and then spends more time with her. They grow to like one another and spend more time together and then they realise how much they mean to each other. The ex is bad news and Conner sorts him out.

I’ve enjoyed this series but the reading order was strange. Jessica and Connor appeared in all of the other books. I thought that maybe this one was going to be told by them looking back on their life but then with the epilogue of this one it sets up the story for Lukas’s book. So maybe they were reprinted at some point but in a different order? I did get fully invested in the characters and enjoyed all of those aspects. It’s a closed door Romance so no spice (not counting off on that just informing)
These books, in this series, are amazing romances. They are truly romances and not spicy at all, it is about the fall of true love. [What we all want true love to be] So far each of these have been my "favorite" of the series, I can't pick a favorite because they are all great! And none of them maKe me roll my eyes and think ... unrealistic, which is beyond fantastic. Highly recommend this series!
I am enjoying this series because the stories are full of life and glimpses into new locations, careers, lifestyles and extra characters. Keeps your interest and helps you look forward to the next tale.
Loved getting to see Conner and Jessica's story, whom we met at the end of the first book. I am really enjoying this series because the stories are full of life and glimpses into new locations, careers, lifestyles and extra characters.
Jessica and Connor are both stuck in some twisted situation with someone from their past. They meet and everything changes! I found the way they reacted to things was quite interesting and truthful. Octo was just the icing on the cake!
The writing kept you reading. Subject of two people coming together and finding love. The problems they both share and how to deal with them . I would read this book again along with the next book.
I loved reading about Conner and Jessica! I wish I would have started the series with this book instead of Lukas story though. Like always the story kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next.
Good, but not quite as good as book 1. There were times when I absolutely adored the hero, but a handful of times where I just couldn't understand him.
Absolutely no depth to the characters and the story.. so it didn't hold my interest. She leaves crazy ex husband from Russia, and moves to Egypt. Why?? No clue. Just one of many things that made no sense 😕
I wanted to know how intertwined this series was and I think they are mostly stand a lones in the same universe but still I am going to carry on even though I've got too many in my tbr
I just finished this book and I loved it! It has an expansive setting and a wonderful story.
Jessica is a therapist for the diplomatic corps. In the process of divorcing her controlling husband she requests and immediate transfer from Russia and is sent to Egypt (lucky girl!) At first she hates the “brown country where she doesn’t speak the language.”
Connor works in the oil business and is very wealthy. He sees Jessica from a distance at the pool in her apartment building and at first mistakes her for Nour, a woman he fell in love with but who married another man. He meets Jessica and offers to show her the sights. He soon realizes Jessica is nothing like Nour, but he is still very attracted to her.
Jessica is wary of a rebound relationship, especially so soon after leaving her controlling and unfaithful husband, but she’s also attracted to Connor and unused to being treated so well. Their relationship develops as they travel around seeing all the beauty the “brown” country has to offer.
I loved the descriptions of sites in Egypt and other places and enjoyed trying to guess what would happen next. This is the second book in the Omega Mu Alpha series built around the interacting stories of eight fraternity brothers who all found their fortunes and now are finding love. I can’t wait to see what happens with the other six brothers!
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
An excellent continuation of Snowfall and Secrets! I am officially in love with this series. I loved that Michigan was once again mentioned in this book, unfortunately, we didn't get to spend any time there (hopefully that'll be different in the next book). Instead, Pyramids and Promises is situated in Egypt. This story was definitely distinct from the first book (in more than just location). In each, the protagonist(s) faced some serious problems, but they were of different natures. In Snowfall and Secrets, the issues revolved around secrets regarding offspring. In Pyramids and Promises, Jessica's situation doesn't stay a secret for long (nor does she try all that hard to keep it one) and poses a far greater risk to her personal safety. Conner does have a secret he keeps from Jessica for a good portion of the book, however. Overall, both of their problems revolve around past relationships. Conner and Jessica's characters were interesting and their story hooked me from the beginning. So happy they found their HEA. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
