Fur, Fangs, and Felines #3

It Takes Two to Tango

Fur, Fangs, and Book Three

Can two very different men find the love they need to survive?

Remi Ginn’s an easygoing werecat with a love of snarky T-shirts. He would be perfectly happy with a human mate. Is that what the goddess Bast gives him? Of course not. Instead she gifts him with Marshell, a Vetala, a snakelike nonshifter who drinks blood to survive. A man who’s just as toppy as Remi—and even more powerful than the West Falls Clowder’s Alpha and heir apparent.

While Remi is deciding whether he can handle the fates’ choice, hunters attack Marshell. Afterward, in an explosion of passion, Remi and Marshell mate and Remi declares Marshell his. Now they have to figure out how to make their relationship work as they dance around each other.

The clowder is in turmoil, and Remi’s acceptance of Marshell rocks the very foundation of the insular group. The consequences will be far-reaching. And if that isn’t problem enough, the situation with the hunters is far from resolved… as proved by the appearance of an Alpha werewolf.

M.A. Church is a true Southern belle who spent many years in the elementary education sector. Now she spends her days lost in fantasy worlds, arguing with hardheaded aliens on far-off planets, herding her numerous shifters, or trying to tempt her country boys away from their fishing poles. It’s a full time job, but hey, someone’s gotta do it!

When not writing, she’s on the back porch tending to the demanding wildlife around the pond in the backyard. The ducks are very outspoken. She’s married to her high school sweetheart, and they have two grown children.

I enjoyed the story overall, especially Remi's character, and getting to see two very toppy guys work out a system that works for them. This is a solid addition to the Fur, Fangs, and Felines series.

That being said, this story has a lot going on, and I didn't feel like all of it really resolved as well as I'd hoped. Also, I'll admit the beginning didn't grab me as quickly as I would have liked and I struggled to stay interested in some parts. I have to say I didn't feel like it really hit its groove until more than a third of the way in.

But once it hit its stride? Woo boy! It rockets.

get

Remi and Marshell's sexy times are full of dirty talk and hair pulling and top-surrendering goodness.

I loved the whole clowder is back so as we check in on everyone's lives and get to see what's happening to move the clowder into this century.

I loved all of Remi's snarky and funny shirts and sweatshirts.

And then there's my favorite part of the story (after the HEA, of course), which is the way M.A. Church sets up the next installment in the series so organically within the current one. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the next beta handles his fated mate.

It has been far too long since I was in the world of 'Fur, Fangs, and Felines' and I'll readily admit that I have missed it. I was excited to get back to the clowder, and to Dolf, Kirk, Tal, Heller, Lawson, Remi, and Marshell. One of the best things about this series is I always get to see so many of the same characters from book to book and I love that. I feel as if these people are all family and that makes me like the books even more.

Watching Remi and Marshell tango was beyond fun. I liked the fact that neither of them dillydallied once they made the decision to mate. There was no back and forth, worrying over what was going to happen if they did, yadda yadda yadda. If Dolf, as the new alpha, wasn't going to let Marshell in the clowder then Remi and Marshell would leave… along with Janelle, Sam, Lawson, and Heller. Marshell's sister and his practically brother weren't going to stay with the clowder if Marshell wasn't accepted. I certainly understood that family loyalty and I approved wholeheartedly.

Review originally posted at Sinfully.

This is another fun and sexy story in the Fur, Fangs and Felines series. It’s book three and all the main characters have been previously introduced, but M.A. Church does give a recap of any information you would need to know if you wanted read it as a standalone.

The storyline is similar to the ones in the two prior books, an outsider is being brought into the clowder of werecats (large house cat shifters) as a mate and a bit of trouble is following. While in the two prior books it was humans coming in, this time there is another paranormal coming in. Remi, is one of the clowder’s betas and has found his mate in Marshell, a Vetala. The Vetala aren’t shifters, but they are snakelike paranormals who drink human blood to survive (they do not kill when they feed). The bigger problem is that Marshell is more powerful than the clowder’s alpha and might be seen as a threat or cause the alpha to be perceived as weak. In addition to that, Marshell has a crazy werewolf stalker and is being targeted by Hunters.

A lot happens at the start of the story with some upheaval for the clowder, some action and a big scare for the new couple. Everything seems to be in turmoil except for the actual relationship between Marshell and his mate Remi. In the two prior books the humans in the matings proceeded with caution leading to a slower build to the relationship. Here there are two paranormals mating and they don’t fight the mating call on bit. Marshell and Remi accept and embrace it and don’t hesitate to go for what they want, which happens to be each other naked, fighting for dominance over the other as often as possible.

These two were so much fun to read together. Remi is level headed and sarcastic. Marshell is charming and pretty laid back unless you mess with those he considers family. They are also both tops and very dominant in bed. The sex is rough and tumble, the dirty talk and pet names included, but it still has a sweetness to it and since they didn’t fight their mating there is plenty of sex in the book. There is also some slightly kinky paranormal sex that really cements for them how much they trust and care for each other. I’ve said it before, but I absolutely love the way M.A. Church writes the werecats in their shifted form. Marshell gets plenty of time with Remi in his cat form in this one and for a large housecat, Remi is pretty badass.

All the drama in the story revolves around outsiders and their attitudes or grudges towards the couple. While the werewolf stalker story is wrapped up here, there are a couple of threads left open, as well as a few new ones that come up at the end of the book. Running through all of the books is an attempt to bring the clowder’s attitudes into the 21st century and try to quell the prejudices and dated thinking the clowder has grown up with. Janelle, Marshell’s sister and mate to one of the pack, is taking it upon herself to improve the treatment of the women in the clowder and has a plan that could wreak havoc with the elders. The pairing for the next story is also introduced in the end and if the clowder thought one of their own mating a Vetala was problematic, the next mating is going to rain down all kinds of trouble for them and have the potential to create plenty of angst and drama.

I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a pretty lighthearted paranormal series that includes action, humor, feisty housecats and plenty of sex and romance. With the clowder’s expanding tolerance and acceptance of new paranormals I’m looking forward to see what the series holds in the future.

This is the 3rd book in the Fur, Fangs, and Felines series by this author, and we get to explore the new mating between Remi, our kitty-cat, and Marshell, a Vetala.

Vetalas are sort of snake-like non-shifting creatures that share some traits with vampires, primarily the one about living off blood.

I liked Remi a lot, including the hilariously snarky shirts he so adores and wears as often as possible. He's pretty straight-forward, and likes to snark just as much as his shirts. Marshell is a very likable guy too, but if you've read the last book, you already know that. Scary, sure, but definitely likable. He's got a lot of power but he uses it wisely. For the most part.

The characters from the previous books all make an appearance as well, including Marshell's sister Janelle who's mated to one of the male weres from Remi's clowder.

Marshell has a bit of a problem. Hunters are on his tail, and he's also dealing with a stalking werewolf. Add to that his recent meeting of his mate, Remi, who's just as dominant and toppy as Marshell, as well as some pushback against him joining the clowder from some of the elders, and it's a bit of a fuster cluck all around.

The only thing going well for Marshell is the actual mating. He and Remi set the sheets on fire, with lots and lots of dirty, dirty talk, and finish the mating. Learning about each other has never been so much fun or so very hawt!

I really enjoyed reading this. Remi and Marshell fit really well together, and there's little drama between the two men - no, the drama is all about outside forces trying to tear them apart. And at the very end, the author rather enticingly sets up the next book in this series, I believe, what with the deluded hunter and the werewolf... and the werewolf's Alpha, one Carter Lovelock, and Adraic, one of Dolf's betas... well, I'll let you read this for yourself. I'll foresee some fur flying in the next one, hahaha.

A nicely done and solid addition to the series. This shouldn't be read as a standalone, as each subsequent book builds on the previous ones, and you'd miss out on a lot of good stuff if you ignore books one and two.

As a side note, there was a mathematical error in my ARC regarding the age of the hunter and his age when the alleged murder occurred. 35 - 16 does not 21 make. I assume this is fixed in the published version. I also noticed after some googling that the Vetala mythology in this series appears to closely follow that of the Supernatural TV series.

Better than the previous two, I think because it was two paranormals and the whole introducing a human mate wasn’t an issue. I liked Remi and his humour, i also liked the fact that even though Marshell was stronger it wasn’t ever used against Remi and they were quite equal.

It Takes Two to Tango is the third book in the ‘Fur, Fangs, and Felines’ series. This story is centered on the feline shifter, Remi Ginn, who is a beta for his clowder. His mate is Marshell, a Vetala, which is a very powerful snakelike nonshifter that drinks blood to survive. As with the other books, this one is told in first person from both Remi and Marshell’s povs.

Remi is a beta for his clowder, the most powerful beta actually. He’s laid back, funny, but very dominant.
Marshell is a vetala. He’s powerful, and real player while being imposing.

When Marshell and Remi meet at a Thanksgiving diner, they understood that they’re were fated mates. And Marshell, excited by this discovery releases his incredible and powerful power.
Remi’s clowder has a problem with how powerful Marshell is, and they aren’t sure they want a paranormal more powerful than the Alpha. Besides, Marshell is harassed by an ex hook-up who causes a lot of damages.

Remi and Marshell want to be together, but they’ll have to survive the threat against their lives and their love.

This one is my favorite of the series.
I’ve loved Remi since book 1. He’s funny, smart, protective, strong and tolerant. He was the only one accepting Kirk and supporting him. He has a sassy mouth and sassy T-shirts (yes, a T-shirt can be sassy too). He wasn’t scared of Marshell’s power. Even if he admits that his mate can be intimidating, he always supports him and fights hard for him.
Marshell is very strong, powerful and dominant. People assume that because he is who he is, he isn’t sensitive. But Marshell is like everyone, he can be afraid, sad and needs to be loved for who he is, and accepted freely. That’s Remi for him.

The two of them are beautiful and adorable together.
The author regaled me with this book. The subjects in this one please me too, racism and sexism are aborded too. They were present since the beginning of the series, but here, they’re more present. Besides, I love mix-race couple, and in this case, Remi and Marshell are a mix-race-species gay couple. I love it.

It’s 5 OptimuMMs for The big guy and his sassy cat

Paranormal at it's very best. If you are a lover of shifter romances of the M/M genre, then this book is most definitely for you. I have completely fell in love with all these characters. This is book three in the Fur, Fangs, and Felines series and the first book I have read by this Author, which means I am now off to download book one and two. It's such an amazing talent to be able to write such extraordinary stories that are totally not of this world and yet, I am a believer in fact in my next life, I'm returning as a shifter, Cat, Werewolf, Bear, I'm not fussy on what I transform into.

This book is Remi and Marshell's story. Remi is a werecat and Marshell is a Vetala. What's a Vetala? Well, it's like a vampire as in they live off blood, but they are not dead like vampires. It's all very weird but such a good weird. Remi and Marshell are mates and if you have already read shifter romances, you will know all about mates. Mates have a connection like no other, it makes the hairs on my arms stand to attention when Remi and Marshell get it on.

No story is complete without an actually story. It's all well and good to create characters for readers to love, but does it have a good plot? This book certainly had enough going on to entertain me. Drama is an understatement, I will admit on more than one occasion I thought, oh boy! whats's going to happen here? but nothing did, I was left speechless if I'm honest. Maybe I thought I had this whole book pegged on how it was going to go, but in actual fact I didn't. It was refreshing not knowing what would happen.

Shifters have many rules and regulations, not many understand the ways of different packs or in this case Clowder's. Marshell is not from any group, he's never been made to feel part of anything. This story is not only full of adventure and seriously hot off the charts sex. Yes, I will come back to that in a moment, but it's full of love. Real heart pounding faster than a steam train reaching it's destination LOVE!!

Okay, so you want to hear about the steamy, sweaty love making? thought so. It was grrrr, you know.... just OH MY GOD!! And Wow! Yes, I am at a loss for words. Remi is a handsome man with a strong lean body, but Marshell, he's BIGGER and has muscles that would make your eyes water. He's a coloured man with a HUGE! Underpants, HAHA!! The sex was so hot and sensual between these two and this was one of those times when I wanted to be more than a fly on that wall.

I believe you could read this book as a standalone, as I have done, but I want more. I will be reading the two previous books in this series and I am looking forward to another instalment. Yes, there is more to come. No cliff hangers in this book, just a nice introduction towards the end that will leave you knowing the next story is already developed in the writers mind.

M/M lovers, you have not read a hot M/M book until you have read, a M/M shifter romance. It's magical.

Sadly this was just an okay read for me. Oddly enough, I might have liked it better if I hadn't gone directly from book two straight into this one. At least then all of the back story info dumps might not have bothered me so badly. However, even taking that into consideration I still think it would have been only an okay read. Too much telling and retelling, too many time jumps that we were just bluntly told "a week passed", "another week passed", "three weeks passed".... well those were just irritating. Considering all of the high ratings I'm obviously in the minority but it's how I feel. I won't be following this series any further.

Fangs, fur, and funny shirts

At the end of Behind the Eight Ball we learned that Remi Ginn and Marshell Foles are mates, the antagonist wolf hasn't been caught yet, and Marshell is an extremely power paranormal, maybe more powerful than the Alpha Werecat. Definitely starting out a mating with a bang.

These guys seem like they shouldn't work, but they work so well it just makes a heart sing. They both want nothing more than to have a mate and while they fumble along with early relationship problems, there is no doubt that they both are in it forever. Through their trials of a delusional werewolf who thinks Marshell is his mate, a pair of hunters trying to kill Marshell, and trying to figure out if Marshell will be welcomed into the clowder, they let their mating grow and definitely the love between these 2. This is by far my favorite of the series.

Side note, I do love how they set up for Aidric and his mate in the next book. It is going to be a wild ride that one.

If you like fur, fangs, and funny shirts this is the book for you. Grab it and you won't regret it.

This was an enjoyable read for me. Having read the other books in the series, I couldn’t wait to jump into this book and see what was going to happen between Remi and Marshell. And how the clowder was going to react to having a Vetala join their bunch.

I enjoyed both Remi and Marshell, but I have to say the thing that I loved most about Marshell is that he didn’t really change that much from the previous book in the series when he was introduced. So it wasn’t like meeting a whole new character, he was exactly as he portrayed himself to be.

The story had the drama and suspense that I expect when I read a book by Church. I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest about it all.

Of course there are some loose ends from the previous books that are tied up in this book. As well as leaving some questions that I hope will be answered in the future.

Overall, a really great addition to this series and I can’t wait to read more from the author in the future.

This was a really really good book and definitely going to be a re-read. I loved that the guys were both tops. I also loved that there was kitty playtime with Marshell and Remi. :)

the only thing I didn't like was the paralyze sex scene. GeeZ. I knew it was coming eventually because they mentioned it earlier in the book. I know it was a sign of how much Remi trusts Marshell and he really needed to see that Remi trusted him completely- which was issue in this book (besides almost dying a few times) That being said, I skimmed heavily because it stressed me the heck out. I do like that in return Marshell submitted to Remi and showed him that he trusted him as well.

Aside for that it was worth reading.

I hate inconsistencies. Heller says he hasn't told his mate that he loves him, but I just read Heller's book and he did tell him, it was a whole thing! There is also an instance where Marshall says it's been over ten years ago that Lawson found out about them, but in the last book Shelly says it's been ten years since they first met and eight years since Lawson found out about the supernatural. Those inconsistencies made me quite mad.
Now to the rest: I really liked this pairing, it was fun to see two supernaturals at it. The drama plot with the stalker and the hunter were okay. And again, the writing was simple and basic, the biggest point of criticism. The story had potential to be more, but the writing was rather meh.

2017 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mentio: M.A. Church It Takes Two to Tango (Fur, Fangs, and Felines #3)
1) I enjoyed the book, Remi was quite the character. I loved how the sense of loyalty prevailed. I did not like the stalkerish (do not really think that is a word) feeling throughout the book, some have too little, this had too much. All around I liked it. I have not read anything else from this series so I would assume reading the first two would better prepare me for this one, but even that did not diminish the story-line. It engaged the reader from the first line to the last.
2) I want to read the earlier books because this is a paranormal universe I can definitely sink my teeth into.

I thought this was a pretty solid book in the Fur, Fangs, and Felines series. Remi and Marshell are both very dominant characters, which created some issues between them until they started to figure things out between them (certainly made for some interesting scenes). I loved Remi's shirts, I thought they gave a decent dose of humor to the story. There were a lot of plots interwoven into this story, some of which are going to be continued in the next book, but at times I thought there were too many moving through the story. I did like getting to see some of the other members of the clowder again, it's nice to see how their stories are progressing.

Wow! Intense and steamy

So ... What do you get when two Dominant paranormals are fated to be mates? Well, in this book you get a whole lot of intense power play and lots of steamy good times! Add to the mix, a werewolf stalker, a human Hunter and another surprise fated mates pairing and this series just gets better and better. I'm starting to sound like a broken record but, honestly, this entire series is so intense and hot and detailed that each book takes me further down the rabbit hole that is this amazing world that M.A. Church has created. Unbelievably good and highly recommend!

I loved this one! While the first two books in the series were amazing, this is my favorite by far! I don't know if it's because it's two dominate males trying to figure out how they'll work, or if it's because of the changes you can see happening with the clouder. All I know is this book is hot, funny, intriguing and an amazing read!

Definitely should not be read without reading the rest in the series as there are lots of characters and concepts that would be difficult to get otherwise. I didn't like this one as much as the others in the series. Probably because of the whole venom thing. It's sad because Remi was one of my favorite characters but I just didn't like the whole paralyzing thing.

It had been awhile since I had read the first two books in the series so I started with those two and then read this one. I loved all of them. Well written with well developed characters. I am looking forward to the next book.

OMG what a boring book! It took me three days to read it and with a lot of distress in doing it. Tempted to abandon it every now and again.
