My dislike for this book has nothing to do with the writing. The writing is boring and dull, just as any informative book of this nature is. It is filled with good ideas and information. However it is not in my interests and if I didn't have to read it as a school assignment I would have never finished the first chapter. If a person is interested in reading about the positive affects of working out or any other form of physical fitness or emotional or spiritual health, this book is for you.
Very complete. I understand a lot more about fitness and how to become more fit than I did before. It is clear, with enough technical language to merit college credit, but not written in academicese. I'm glad I studied it.
Almost too much detail especially about ways to measure various aspects of one's physical fitness. The first few chapters are at a depth suitable for physical education or kinesiology majors. For the rest of us, I'd prefer that each chapter had a bulleted list of key points for application that could be referred to later without paging through all the details. However the last chapter and in particular the appendices provide some great summaries. I will keep this book and now that I've finished the course, I'll have time to focus on setting up my own fitness program.
a must read for everyone trying to gain or mantain a good health. comprehensive and detailed yet easy to read. covers almost everything, from aerobics to strenght training to meditation or drug abuse.
