Megan Stine is the Editor-in-Chief of Real U Guides and the author of more than 100 books for young readers including Trauma-Rama, an etiquette book for teenagers published by Seventeen magazine, and several titles in a series based on the popular 1990’s television series Party of Five. A frequent writer of books in the enormously popular Mary-Kate and Ashley series, she is the best-selling author of Likes Me, Likes Me Not and Instant Boyfriend. She has worked with CBS and ABC in developing comedy and drama television pilots, and has written comedy material for a well-known radio personality in New York.

When she isn’t writing, she is a portrait and fine art photographer and a contributing photographer for the Real U series of guides.

Ein Mitmachbuch, bei dem man von Kapitel zu Kapitel springt, und wenn man sich mal für das falsche Kapitel entscheidet, kann das für die Figuren böse enden. Eine interessante Art, ein Buch zu lesen :)
Ich fand es mal ganz amüsant und unterhaltsam, zudem mir auch diese Jahrmarktsatmosphäre der 1980er Jahre sehr gut gefallen hat.

Der Fall ist ganz gut, doch mir gefallen diese Teile nicht, in denen man als Leser selbst entscheiden soll, wie es weitergeht und man von Kapitel zu Kapitel springt. Manche Optionen enden mit dem Tod der Charaktere und man muss wieder zum Anfang zurück und sich für andere Optionen entscheiden. Beim Lesen/Hören kam bei mir so kein Spaß auf.

Schon Unterhaltsam und anders als die normalen Fälle. Die Atmosphäre der 80er ist ein großes Plus aber insgesamt bevorzuge Ich doch normale Fälle

Dieses Find-your-fate Buch hat mich vor allem durch seine Unernsthaftigkeit und den Humor überrascht. Der Fall an sich, heimlicher Verkauf von Medikamenten auf einem Rummelplatz, war gar nicht mal so unspannend, aber vor allem hat es Spaß gemacht. Einmal die falsche Entscheidung getroffen und schon ist man tot. Das Buch ist überhaupt nicht zeitlos und ich hab mich sehr an amerikanische Serien oder Filme aus den 80ern erinnert gefühlt. Schön, dass das auch trotz Übersetzung so rüberkommt. Die drei ??? haben da zwar relativ wenig gemein, mit den aktuellen deutschen Figuren, aber irgendwie finde ich das auch immer ein bisschen charmant.
