I received an ARC in return for an honest review, Thanks Meli.
I couldn't put this book down, I read it in one night. The story of Chase and Allie continues. Jeff, Allie"s stepfather, is going to sell her to the biggest drug lord in all of Mexico to pay off a drug debt, but Allie must be a virgin. Chase and Allie run away to LA, where Allie's sister lives, she has been trying to save up enough money to move out there and stay with her, but Jeff found it and stole the from her, too. Chase just up and leaves her there and the next thing you know the girls get a phone call that Jeff is dead and the need to come bsck home ASAP.When they get back, Allie finds out that she is the prime suspect in the murder investigation and she still hasn't heard from Chase. Her sister goes out to get some food and Allie thinks she hears her come back and the next thing she knows shes hit over the head and all goes black. She wakes up tied to a chair with Chase saying the drug lord is going to this one....

I liked this book better than the first. Things are starting to pick up between Allie and Chase and it seems like they might really make a go at escaping their old lives. But unfortunately, there's a book 3 so you know what that means...no HEA and a cliffhanger! Guess I'll keep reading to see what happens with these two.

Oh my goodness! I don't even know what to say!
This started off so awesome - Chase rescues Allie away from the crappy life she was set to live and Allie gets to see her dream and her sister and there's so much love and care and wonder - it's incredible and so very romantic.
And then someone ends up dead and the story turns on it's head. All the beauty and romance is drained out of the book and we're left looking at a pile of ashes wondering what happened.
Yes, what did happen? The cliffhanger is so good that I must....MUST...go on to listen to book #3

Oh my gosh I did not see the ending of how this book ended. I was totally shocked and poor Allie her first love and this happened.
I have loved Chase this whole time, thinking he had fallen in love with Allie, only the ending of this book makes me think it was part of a plan the Altas biker gang had planned all along.
I can not wait to see how this plays out and if Allie and her sister come out if this alive and if Chase is really the bad guy in this scenario.
Narrator is good, but would prefer a males voice for Chase.

Wow! Chasing Allie (volume 2 of Meli Raine's Breaking Away series) really picks up from Finding Allie (Volume 1) and flies with it. Chase and Allie's relationship has developed despite the opposition of Allie's bar owner and major drug dealing stepfather, Jeff, and Chase's MC president (and drug dealing) father, Galt. Chase ultimately learns that Jeff has sold Allie to the Mexican drug lord known as "El Brujo" for his use and abuse and probable resale into the underground sex trade, in order to repay the drug lord for a substantial debt. Chase then removes Allie from Jeff's control and they escape to L.A. to visit Allie's sister, Marissa. After an extremely heated night together, Allie awakens the next morning to find Chase inexplicably gone, having only left her a very short and unsatisfying note. Shortly thereafter Allie receives notice that there has been a murder in her hometown and the detectives investigating the crime need her to return. With Marissa accompanying her back to their hometown, Allie goes to the police station thinking she is needed to provide information to help with their investigation, only to learn that she is a primary suspect for the murder. While home, Allie and Marissa make many additional discoveries about their stepfather's nefarious and illegal activities. Fade to black... (I'm unwilling to give the last chapter away, but "Fade to black" is more than just a phrase.)
This second volume of the trilogy took off and flew well beyond Finding Allie (Volume 1). The mystery and intrigue created by all the unanswered questions, in conjunction with the major and totally unexpected cliffhanger has me waiting with bated breath for the answers that Volume 3 (Keeping Allie) will deliver - since it's a trilogy. Thank goodness I don't have to wait too long!

This book picks up where the first left off. We are introducted to Allie's, one & only friend,David as he secretly brings her out to the desert to have her meet up with Chase (as a surprise to them both). David helps Chase with his stunts and puts them on YouTube for him so that Chase can reap from the rewards. He's also helped Chase build a little hideout home there so he can be away from the MC & have some privacy.
We see Allie & Chase getting closer but their dad's (or Chase's dad & Allie's stepdad) seem to make it chaos. After a big fight between Allie, her stepdad, Chase, & some of the other MC member's input, Chase & Allie hop on his bike & drive to L.A. to escape from it all. We then meet Allie's sister & roommate, who is quite the character. There is some bonding time between them all and after Allie & Chase spend the night together, still not quite consummating their love for eachother, Allie wakes up to find Chase gone. Then as if things couldn't get worse she's contacted by the police department back home to be told her stepdad has been killed & she needs to come back to identify the body.
Allie & her sister make it home to take care of things, Chase is nowhere to be found, Allie can't leave town and then... things still get worse & you have a big cliffhanger that you'll just have to read the book to discover!
They're said to be the Romeo & Juliet of our times however, I don't feel quite the same chemistry between the 2. Maybe I'm just too skeptical but this book is making me feel like I'm not, we'll see how book 3 goes.

My Review:
Meli Raine’s second book - Chasing Allie is still straddling that divide between YA and NA and brings even more intrigue and suspense than Book 1. Allie is young, naïve, and either just lacks curiosity or is rather stupid. She seems to do whatever others direct her to do, whether that is her stepfather, friends, police, sister, or boyfriend. She may resent the authority, but she doesn’t rebel or give it much consideration. She doesn’t have much awareness of her surroundings or think ahead, is easily confused and overwhelmed, doesn’t see or look much past her own nose, or even think much past the day she is in. Yet her life has become such an adventure and her home and family held many secrets. She frustrates me… yet I care for her. I am hooked, ensnared, and hopelessly addicted to this story.

Chasing Allie picks up right where Finding Allie left off. Allie is shocked to find out the sinister plans that Jeff had for her. After Allie finds out what Jeff had in store for her, Chase takes Allie to LA to spend some time with her sister. He's trying to give her, her dreams. But, while she is away, something unexpected happens. One phone call will have the power to change everything and will send Allie running back home. Allie is in no way prepared for what happens when she returns home....
I thought Chasing Allie was a great follow up to Finding Allie. I'm still having some issues with the pacing of this series. However, I'm still really intrigued by the plot and have to know how everything will turn out.
Things definitely are heating up between Chase and Allie. I loved the twists and turns with this book. And the cliffhanger at the end....I'm still shocked by it. I'm really hoping that things aren't headed in the direction that I think they are. My fingers are crossed.
Overall, Chasing Allie was an enjoyable read and I'm really looking forward to seeing how this story will come together in the end.

This is book 2 of the three part series Breaking Away. When Chase finds out what Jeff has in store for Allie, he takes her to L.A. and away from Jeff. When they get to L.A. he takes her to the ocean. Allie has never seen the ocean and her emotions of the experience is all over the place. Chase takes her to her sister Marissa where they will stay until the can figure what to do next. When Allie wakes alone the next morning, she can't believe that Chase has left her and with a note that doesn't explain anything. When Marissa gets a call from back home, it is the police and they want Allie to come back home for questioning. Turns out the police want to question her about a death and Allie turns out to be a suspect. This story is full of suspense and hope. Hope that Chase and Allie with get their happily ever after. I think Allie needs to stop listening to the voices in her head and follow her heart. Her thinking seems to be scattered all over the place. Hang on for the cliffhanger ending. I am enjoying this series and can't wait to start Keeping Allie, book 3.

This book starts right where the first one ended.
When Chase finds out what Jeff has in store for Allie, he takes her to Los Angles and away from Jeff.
They go to the ocean and afterwards, Chase takes her to her sister Marissa where they will stay until they can figure what to do next.
When Allie wakes the next morning, she finds that Chase has left her a note without saying much of anything.
Marissa gets a call from back home, it is the police and they want Allie to come back home for questioning.
There is a little angst, suspense, and some romance in this story.
This book ends on a Cliff Hanger just like the first book.
Tanya Eby did well with the narration.

This is book 2 of the Allie series. This book is even more exciting than book 1 is. When this story ends, we have another cliffhanger, which makes me want book 3 even more now! Poor Allie, she has been thru so much in her life and now a suspect of murder? The ending blew my mind!
This story is a suspense / thriller / romance. It is twisted and dark. Just when I think I have seen it all, something else adds to the equation. This story keeps me guessing for sure!
The author, Meli Raine did a good job on this story. Great plot, excellent detailing. This author has a great imagination. The narrator, Tanya Eby, delivered another flawless narration, complete with accents, multiple voices and emotions. Loved the Scottish accent and the little boy voice!

This book starts exactly where Finding Allie (#1 book in this series) ends.
And it keeps getting better and better! Allie finally leaves to LA with Chase and let me tell you, I LOVED to see how she experienced her first time there! A dream coming true! The author really gives the emotion that Allie must be feeling that moment and I Loved it!!!
She spends ONE night there and unfortunately is forced to return home... something happened back at home and BAM! A big twist in the story and you never guess what happens next! What an end... Cant wait for the next book!!! Still cant believe it...

I can't say much about this book without giving away some big spoilers but I will say it was a roller coaster ride that I was glad I took even though we are left with one heck of a cliff hanger!
Some minor spoilers:

*Allie meets her sister's roommate and he is one interesting guy!
*A phone call from the police that Allie will never forget
*Allie and Chase make some memories in LA

I received this ARC for an honest review. This story just keeps getting better and better!!! Allie and Chase have a powerful connection and they share so much together so fast, a true modern day Romeo and Juliet. Puzzle pieces are still coming together regarding Allie's Mom and her future. Holy cliffhanger, love it! Need book 3! :)

Chase and Allie heads to California to visit her sister Marisa. Allie tells Marisa everything that she found out about their step father. A detective calls with some disturbing new and she needs to come back home ASAP. This book is like a roller coaster you never know what's going to happen next. Will Allie be able to find a way out of all this mess her step father put her in?

I’m actually kind of glad I’ve read ahead, and that I’m familiar with the other works of the author behind this alter ego. I would have missed so many inside jokes otherwise. And for as heavy as this book gets by the end, I was grateful for that additional levity. I’m a bit perplexed by the need for this book in the series. I understand that there’s some important stuff that happens in this book to set the stage for what’s to come. But there’s also a lot of this book that didn’t feel necessary. I loved the opportunity to watch Allie and Chase get closer. And to see what the relationship with her sister was really like. But for what’s contained in this particular book, I don’t know if we needed all of it. I’m hoping this background information will make more sense in context with one of the next books.

Again, like the first book/novella, this was very "insta-love" and that has to be written "right" to be considered good, and something about this just wasn't great. And something just seemed "fishy" about the whole thing... But I'm still reading it.
The first one did end on a bit of a cliffhanger so I was curious where it would go, would it get better, was there suspense that would keep me interested...
But the writing in these books just seemed a bit juvenile. Maybe that's why I wasn't so eager to read/listen to them.
But then stuff started happening, and it kept me interested and wanting to continue. Especially that twist at the end, I HAVE to see how this continues...

The second book in the series follows Chase and Allie as they go to LA to visit Allie’s sister, a death that was obvious was going to happen, and Allie being kidnapped seemingly by Chase and his biker crew. We end on a cliffhanger as Chase reveals his ulterior motives, but are they really ulterior or does he have something up his sleeve? I guess we’ll find out in the next book, although following the MO of her other books, Chase is a good guy playing bad and definitely has ulterior motives to his ulterior motives.

Dans le livre 2, Allie découvre comment elle sera vendue pour annuler les dettes de drogue de son beau-père. L'esclavage humain existe toujours, malheureusement, et c'est un fait. J'ai aimé lire comment cela pourrait se produire aujourd'hui, cela semblait assez réaliste d'une certaine manière. Elle finit par aller vivre avec sa sœur, qu'elle soupçonne d'avoir causé la mort de leur mère il y a quelques années.

Oooooooh! The plot thickens! Chase and Allie ride off to LA after Allie has a fight with her stepfather. She's there one day when Chase abandons her. And then she has to go back home because of some mysterious death that she's a person of interest. Good cliffhanger ending.

this particular story ended to soon, it just stopped. i am really enjoying this set of stories, as much as the following series about dax and sophia. can't wait to read keeping allie.

Here Allie finds out more about her stepfather's plans to sell her virginity to settle his drug debts. Chase finds her & takes her to see her sister, who has stayed away all this time in order to avoid their stepfather (which she suspects is responsible for their mother's death two years ago).

(3.5) I think these books should all be in one. Just like the first one the beginning was just okay and then the end hit me and I have to know what is going to happen.

In this book u get to meet Allies sister Marissa. This is a page turner and a half. One hell of a plot twist.
