Camp Firefly Falls #5

The Time of His Life

Rate this book
Malcolm Turner can’t believe his sisters tricked him into attending Get Your Groove Back at Camp Firefly Falls. Yes, he’s been busy trying to get his family’s lingerie business off the ground, but no woman has ever complained about his groove, thank you very much. He’ll just stay in his cabin and work on his marketing campaign for the next week. Well, until he sees her.

Dancer Valerie Shaw is working at the camp to save money for her new business venture. She is not there to meet men. Not even the preppy, yet hot (sooo hot) guy staring at her as she performs. Except she can’t stop thinking about him. Or pushing his buttons. Or hoping he puts his hands (and lips) all over her.

Maybe a fling is in order. A temporary distraction. But that is it–if they can let each other go at the end of the week.

Pretty good read, very lite and easy to read. Not many twists and turns, but a nice relaxing story.

It took me a several months and a few tries to get into this book. It’s a quick read once I got passed the first few chapters. It was just okay for me.

Sex did not sell this one

I had a hard time with this book. I didn't quite get the whole "Sex Sells" and the way it was not only a contest they were participating in, but an underlying theme of the rest of the storyline. I didn't understand the push/pull between the hero and heroine--they both admitted, to themselves and to each other, that they were attracted and drawn to oner another, but they kept this dance going of advance and retreat, tease and deny, that didn't make sense to me. Also, given her background of being made to feel that sex was all she was good for, I couldn't understand why she was an exotic dancer, and why enter a contest that sexualized marketing to the degree that this did. There was some redemption in the end when he changed his presentation and pursued her; in too many romances today there's still a stereotype of the woman being the one who gives up all for her man. Despite the issues I had with the storyline, I did think it was nicely written, so I still give it three stars.

Sweet fun read!

This story was sweet and fun to read. I enjoyed the storyline and Malcolm and Valerie were amazing together. However the typos in this book detracted from the story for me a little bit. I want to hear Tori's story now.
