Steamy, Sexy Bad Boys Of Summer! Can It Get Any Hotter? I never claimed to be the greatest pitcher in the world—then again, maybe I did—but I was probably drunk off my ass trying to seduce some chick. I had no intention of ever becoming Cody Wright, the best—or the greatest. That was more my old man’s dream. The REAL Mr. Wright.
So, what the hell was I doing starting my rookie season with the Oklahoma City Warriors? Well, the way I see it, playing baseball was what I was born to do.
It was easy.
And the title and paycheck afforded me everything I could ever want—hot cars and even hotter women.
Everything was peachy keen to my standards—until a chance meeting with a brunette spinner named Chelsea Brooks rocked my world and changed the game for good.
You don’t get to be a pro ball player without a few skeletons in your closet—secrets that could cost me everything. The fame, the money, and worst of all…Chelsea.
Don’t miss KB’s brand new hottest bad boy sports romance of the summer! Bring The Heat is a standalone! No Cliffhangers!
Bring the Heat was the first book in the Bad Boys of Summer by KB Winters. This was not my first rodeo with Winters. I received it as a bonus read when I purchased Spring Training, book three in the series. Both can be read as a stand-alone.
Cody Wright was a pitcher in the MLB. He was the son of a retired pro baller and was expected to follow in his footsteps. He was cocky, arrogant and hadn’t yet lived up to his potential.
Chelsea Brooks was not impressed with professional athletes, even though her bestie was engaged to one. In her experience most were cocky, selfish and arrogant. Cody Wright was no exception.
The author did a great job in the beginning of making us dislike Cody. What an ass. But as the storyline progressed with the typical push and pull along with some ex drama, the real personalities began to surface. In the end, it was a quick and entertaining read.
it was hawt for sure... it had an ex-girlfriend drama... a little bit of groveling...and well, a HEA
but smth was lacking for me, and for that smth, I can't really pin point what, it was just smth missing between the characters, I needed more connection, besides the chemistry and exchanging bodily fluids... ;)
Slow first inning but pick up the pace and is a fun read
Rookie Move is the first book in the Bad Boys Of Summer series and is an enjoyable sports romance about Chelsea and Cody. These two have a chemistry that is undeniable, even as they banter back and forth trying to deny it. Cody is in his rookie year of playing professional baseball. He meets Chelsea as she is best friends with a young woman who is engaged to another player. There is an instant attraction and he starts the pursuit but Chelsea does not want to date an athlete. So let's just say that he is going to have to really hit it out of the park to get Chelsea. Her reluctance is not the only thing they will have to deal with and overcome. But in the end there is a home run and a sweet HEA. I have read several books by KB Winters that I have enjoyed. This one is a bit different as it is the first sports romance so I was looking forward to seeing is the author was going to bring her "A" game or not. This story started out a bit slow and predictable but it was still addictive and a fun read.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
So firstly, I’d like to mention that this book has been republished under a new title Rookie Move and my review falls under the old title in GRs of ‘Bring the Heat’.
Cody has just been brought up from the minors to play in the Majors but his debut game, doesn’t quite goes as planned....but certainly improves when one of his teammates invites him to come out for some dinner after and he meets the nerdy, yet sexy Chelsea😳 Cody has to work quite hard to charm Chelsea, but eventually she lets him in❣️However, something from Cody’s past has decided to come back and haunt him and starts making his life a little bit more difficult and causing trouble between him and Chels😢
A really interesting story and I really enjoyed getting to know these characters and I look forward to reading more😁 I received an advanced copy via Booksprout and I willingly leave my honest review😍
I loved this sports themed romance. Cody and Chelsea were such a great couple, had sizzling chemistry. Cody is the Warriors' newest pitcher and he meets Chelsea after his first game. She's the best friend of his fellow teammate's fiance Paris, who has dragged Chelsea to one of their games. I loved how much Chelsea resisted Cody's efforts at seducing her. She didn't have the time, nor the inclination, for a cocky, bad boy athlete. She had an app/game to finish and Cody would just get in the way of that.
But, she could only resist Cody's charm & their chemistry for so long before she gave in. Once she gave in, though, they were so good together. Cody was so sweet and supportive of her work, and Chelsea was so appreciative of him and even turned into a baseball fan, when she had previously not given two hoots for any sports. Their banter, both before they were a couple, and during, was honestly the best part of Bring the Heat. It was funny and sexy and sweet, just like the two of them together.
Alas, as in any good romance, there was a big obstacle to their relationship, in the form of Cody's psychotic, raging b---h of an ex, who causes no small problems. I really wanted to reach through my Kindle and smack her, she was that vile! Add in the fact that she had made Chelsea's high school years a terror, and Chelsea's insecurities about herself and the strength of her relationship with Cody, and you have some serious drama. Thankfully, Cody, with the help of Paris (she's awesome!!!!) is able to get through to Chelsea and apologize and beg for her forgiveness.
If you like your sports romances with sexy, cocky athletes and strong, sweet heroines with hot chemistry, then I really recommend you read Bring the Heat.
Thoughts: I really enjoyed this story! It was a bit predictable but a fun read nonetheless. I liked the characters, although Paris, Chelsea's best friend, seemed a little shallow to me but a good friend overall. Cody is... I call dibs! He is actually a very sweet and romantic guy but he hides behind a wall of "I don't care" to protect himself. Very swoon worthy! Chelsea is great, she's not looking for a man when she finds one (which is usually how it works). She's trying to launch her career making app games and even though she's very much attracted to Cody, she fights it as long as possible. I hope the next books in the series still have some of the same characters, I really liked Cody and Chelsea.
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
Over the top cheesy characters and story, not my cup of tea.....
The "Bad Boy" of this bad boy sports romance was a big softy, with cheesy lines and a potty mouth, which is the only bad boy characteristic I can point out in this book. The two main characters was over the top annoying with the cheesy cliches of "I'm a nerd, I'm not good enough for a jock" type of romance, insta-love between the two and throw in the cliche antagonist of the story to set up some drama that could've been easily overlooked. Cody and Chelsea, the two main characters, did not make me believe their love, they lacked a lot of chemistry. Yeah not a good read for me........
I loved thesee two characters. Cody was cocky and self assured but likable. He was exactly what Chelsea needed to get her away from her computer. She needed to have some fun and get a life. With Chelsea, who is very down to earth, Cody finally has someone he cares for and loves, and someone who likes him for himself and not his fame and fortune. And the hot sex scenes. Wow!!!
An ARC of this book was provided for an honest review.
Steamy, Sexy Bad Boys Of Summer! Can It Get Any Hotter? If you're a fan of bad boy sports romance, Bring the Heat by KB Winters is the book for you. My only complaint about this book is... I need more!
Chelsea started out not being a fan of baseball or men really. Then she meets Cody and can't take her eyes or mind off him.
Cody came up from the minors to help a rebuilding team. He spots Chelsea in the stands and he's lost on her. They end up meeting and start talking. Chelsea tries her hardest to ignore and to get him to leave her alone. What Cheslea didn't realize is that Cody loves a challenge.
I didn't really think this book would be that interesting because it was free at 3tim8i put it on my to-read list. But I've read several of the authors books and she's really a great storyteller for this type of genre. The stories aren't straightforward and predictable, there's always some drama and really good learning experiences about relationships in her stories. I enjoyed this book more than any other book she's written. I don't even like baseball lol!!
This is fantastic. I read it in one day. The banter between Cody & Chelsea was priceless. Plus the friendship that Chelsea and Paris have is undeniably strong and genuine. I appreciated how the author used humor and sarcasm to bring the couple around to them both wanting "more". I cant wait to start the next book.
Loved Cody and Chelsea. They make a great couple...great chemistry and Cody doesn't give up to have the only woman he is falling in love with. Chelsea has issues with thinking she won't be enough for him and he will cheat. He proves to her that she is wrong and he doesn't want anyone else. Love her ability to create video games that everyone loves. Great story!!
This is a great read. Its an opposites attract. There is. Lot of funny and sweet moments. Who doesn't daydream of somebody they shouldn't. Ever be the shy quiet type that gets swept away by the cocky popular type.
A cocky player and a tech girl? Believe me it works. Cody and Chelsea are opposites on paper, but totally attracted to each other. Of course there is the ex that wants back together and other drama, but it comes together nicely in the end.
Bring the Heat is a standalone book by K.B. Winters. Another fabulous sports romance book with a solid storyline. The characters were spot on and had lots of smokin hot chemistry. All in all a solid book that I would highly recommend.
I absolutely love baseball. Throw in romance and you've got me hooked. This was no different. The characters are real life people who have ups, downs, and every emotion you can imagine.
If you love baseball, hot steamy sex, and a good love story then look no further!
KB Winters brings you the trials and tribulations of a relationship with a baseball star with a believable look at that lifestyle. I love how Cody (hot baseball pitcher) and Chelsea (equally hot app developer) first met! It drew me in, and I truly enjoyed reading (watching) their relationship grow.
Received the ARC for an honest review. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the Series … Sweet Spot!
I love your books this is just a another way two show how you never know when Mr or Ms Right might come along. And it is decently to bad that we all have to also have that Mr or Ms wrong out there that just want to screw hup someone's live but as should happen love can win. A pitch and home run for the good Guy's.
Cody Wright is the son of a MLB legend, and although he followed his dad in playing baseball, he never had any intentions of becoming the best pitcher out there, but he finds that he loves the hot cars, easy women, and the bigger paycheck. Now he's been called up to the show, so he's the newest pitcher for the Oklahoma City Warriors. His world is shaken up when he meets the sassy Chelsea Brooks, who doesn't care who he is. She doesn't have a ton of experience with the opposite sex, as she works from her apartment developing game apps. Cody decides he wants her, however, she isn't falling for his game, but he doesn't give up as he's in it to win it. Just when he gets her to finally give a chance, his past comes back to bite him. Will his revealed secrets cost him everything?
WOW! I LOVE sport romance, so I read a ton of them, and I can honestly say Bring the Heat is refreshingly, original story. It was awesome to have the athlete not so jaded and mean. Now that's not to say that Cody didn't have swagger and arrogance, he did, he just wasn't the big manwhore that a lot of them are portrayed in books. The character development is great, with a very colorful cast of secondaries. Simmering chemistry finally boiled over into SCORCHIN' HOT sexy scene goodness. K.B. WInters does a fantastic job with blending the game and romance together, with her brilliant writing style hooking me cover to cover. I swear I didn't move until the very last word, and I wanted MORE! I, myself, live in OKC, and would kill to have a pro baseball team here so here's hoping for the Oklahoma City Warriors live and in person! I love this author's writing so can't wait to see what she comes up with next! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This review is from: Bring The Heat: A Bad Boy Sports Romance (Bad Boys of Summer Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
Well it is official K.B.Winters cannot write a bad book. I love sports but am not usually a fan of sport romance books. K.B. has a way of telling her stories from a personal standpoint. Thus book is about a couple starting a new relationship with a past girlfriend thrown is set in a sports theme but it's the personal story the knocks it out of the park.
Cody is the new pitcher for the Warriors who are tanking their season. His first game he is cocky and arrogant but there is a sweet side to his nature that we see develop throughout the story. Chelsea is a video game designer locked to her computer screen 12-16 hours a day..the quintessential nerd. They meet and sparks fly but Chelsea does not want anything to do with Cody...she does not have time for a man in her life. Once she does start to allow Cody in she isn't sure she can handle the stress and acclaim that surrounds top of their game sports figures.
The characters are well written and likeable. The villain of the piece is well written as well. I love the way that the story develops around the new main characters but the secondary characters are well developed as well. You will enjoy this book immensely and ladies don't let the sports theme keep you away. You will not be disappointed.
