It seems that this book itself is rather elusive, published in the late 80s and there not being much information about it—even on here. I was glad to find it in my little work “library” as it’s a really insightful depiction of the private, American garden in the late 20th century. Derek Fell did a great job of capturing the atmosphere of Deerfield through his detailed descriptions and photographs. It was nice to see the garden in all its seasons which helped to establish, even just through image, a real sense of place.
