Feminist felsefe nedir? Alison Stone, işte bu basit gibi görünen soruyla başlayıp engin bir ufka açılıyor. Feminist felsefeyi özgün sorularının yanı sıra felsefenin diğer alanlarıyla ortak soruları üzerinden inceliyor. Stone, her bölümde karşımıza çıkan böyle onlarca soruyu, asla indirgemeciliğe düşmeden sakince yanıtlıyor. Feminizm üzerine yazılmış olan, şu ana kadar okuduğum en kapsamlı kitapların başındaydı Feminist Felsefeye Giriş.
Kitap hakkında en çok beğendiğim ve takdir ettiğim özellik, her türlü fikir ve ideoloji üzerinde durulması ve hem pozitif hem negatif açıdan tüm bu tezlerin değerlendirilip çoğu yerde sonucun okuyucuya bırakılmasıydı.
İdeolojiler üzerine yazılan kitaplarda tamamıyla olmasa da büyük ölçüde objektif kalmak zordur ancak bana göre yazar bunu tam anlamıyla başarmıştı. Ayrıca tüm bu objektifliğe rağmen derleyici/yazarın konular hakkındaki fikirleri üzerine bulgulara rastlanabiliyordu.
Kitabın sonunda sayfalarca süren "Kaynakça" bölümünden de anlaşılacağı gibi tüm eser inanılmaz bir araştırma ve birikim üzerine kurulmuştu. Radikalinden liberaline hatta siyah feministine kadar hem önceki düşünürler hem de popüler ya da nadir olan akımlar çok başarılı bir biçimde aktarılmıştı.
Feminist Felsefeye Giriş; Cinsiyet, Toplumsal Cinsiyet, Cinsellik, Cinsel Fark, Özcülük, Doğum ve Feminizm olarak 7 temel bölümden oluşuyor. Her bölümde feminist felsefenin üzerinde kafa yorduğu kavramlar pek çok düşünürün tezleriyle desteklenerek açıklanıyor ve toplumdaki etkileri gözleniyor.
Bu konunun ilgimi fazlasıyla çekmesine rağmen kitabı okumam aylar aldı, bunda benim kişisel ertelemelerimin yanında kitabın oldukça fazla ideoloji ve terime yer vermesinin de payı olduğunu söyleyebilirim. Dili ağır olmamasına rağmen eser, sindirilerek okunması gereken ve pek çok noktada okuru düşünmeye iten bir özelliğe sahip.
Feminizm ve Feminist Felsefe hakkında özel bir meraka sahip olanların okumasını tavsiye edebilirim ancak dediğim gibi herkese göre bir kitap olduğunu düşünmüyorum.
Benim zevkime ve düşünce yapıma oldukça uydu, puandan da belli oluyordur zaten ^^

Okuduğum en iyi giriş kitabıydı. Yazar hem kimsenin hakkını yemeden tarihsel olarak fikri ilerletmiş hem de gayet eleştirel bir bakışı koruyabilmiş. Açık seçik ve anlaşılır bir dili var. Çok beğendim.

tüm görüşler, ideolojiler oldukça tarafsız bir şekilde açıklanarak okuyucuya çok daha büyük bir pencereden bakma imkanı sağlıyor. beni zorlayan bazı kısımlar olsa da genel olarak görüşlerin başarılı ve anlaşılır bir dille açıklandığını söyleyebilirim.
kitap boyunca hiçbir şekilde desteklemediğim, hatta rahatsız edici bulduğum, feminizm bu olmamalı dedirten düşünceler de oldu. özellikle cinsellik, cinsel fark ve doğum kısmında. bu noktada tek bir feminizm yerine feminizmlerin çoğulluğundan söz etmenin daha anlamlı olacağını söyleyebilirim. kendi görüşlerime yakın olan insanları okuma eğilimindeyim, bu yüzden bana daha geniş bir bakış açısı sağlama açısından benim için oldukça yararlı bir okuma oldu.

Feminist philosophy has gone to question the gender roles, behavior styles, state of being, symbolized thoughts and most importantly, the sentences established in today's world, where the thinking model formed through coding is most often used, the codes made, the adjectives and titles attached and the roles adopted as characters, while bringing a whole new breath to philosophy and questioning it as well.

In the end, the fact that a system of thought that came to life in the political sphere as an ism has managed to become so intertwined with philosophy, and that its orientation is towards the intellectual world rather than the political world, gives rise to a serious ray of hope for the future of humanity. This orientation (the evolution that has been realized), pioneered by many philosophers from Mary Wollstonecraft, Foucault to Beauvoir, Butler to Deleuze, is actually the name of a great achievement. When I look at Feminist Philosophy, I think that if philosophers had guided many other isms, we would be living as people of a completely different world today.

By reading this photo correctly, Alison Stone is equipped with great questions in terms of starting Feminist Philosophy, touching on gender, on female and male, on some contradictions of feminist politics, as well as on its progressive sides, and I can say that she has opened a door for us on the way to this treasure trove of ideas that has completed its evolution. At this point, I think it is important to distinguish between politics and philosophy well.

As it can create a concept and theory shock for someone who has just met feminism, I can say that there is something beautiful about it that makes them think about many topics for those who are related to the subject. This is a work that I like very much. My advice to the person concerned. Have a pleasant reading.

Den här boken var del i en kurs om feministisk etik & filosofi, en introduktion. Tyvärr är boken för gammal, med ett antal problem, inte bara gällande läsningen av sexualitet som naturlig utan jag tänker främst på delen om transpersoner, beskrivna genom ord som ”sex change”. För de som är nya på feministisk teori är det ju klurigt att läsa det här - en kan ju få för sig att tro på det.

Takes a very objective and coherent outlook on feminism and the different philosophical perspectives. I would say this is a very critical look on the ideology, showing different sides of the coin. However, the reason I gave 4 stars is because, while the book gives anti-thesis' on most common topics, I do believe it failed to truly criticize the topics that were crucial to the core of the feminist ideology.

An extremely illuminating book that references every feminist philosopher/author that has ever been useful/interesting to me from bell hooks to Adrienne Rich to Simone de Beauvoir. It also answered a number of personal questions (not directly covered in the book) as to why there is such a high instance of critical discourse on gender/sex/gender identity/etc in queer literature.

Also, more useful, Stone's summing up of hard-to-understand philosophical ideas and tracts let you (as the reader) focus on the ideas and where they take you; rather than just trying to get through a page AND try to remember the points made therein.

I'm also very interested now in several authors such as: Luce Irigaray, Iris Young, Helene Cixous, and Judith Butler.

An excellent introduction and survey of feminist philosophy. Alison Stone provides an accessible account of many major issues in contemporary feminism including sex, gender, sexuality, essentialism, difference, and pregnancy/birth. Also addressed is the meta-feminist question, "is feminism truly philosophical inquiry?" Stone explains each topic with the clarity and insight of a good philosopher, in addition to providing useful sources and suggestions for further reading.
