Navy SEAL Brent “Cobra” Rollins never met a woman he didn’t want. He’s gotten more action than his entire SEAL team combined, but the gorgeous brunette he barely even touched is the one he can’t get out of his head.
Ella Thompson is working her way through school, and the cocky, assertive Navy SEAL who stood up for her is also wrong in about a thousand different ways. Player? Check. Older man? Check. Interested in a relationship with her? Not a chance in hell.
When she’s all out of options, Ella returns to her former shift at a cocktail lounge to make ends meet. Her boss is willing to give her the job back—for a price. The only thing scarier than submitting to him is being pawned off as payment to his enemies. The man who can save her is the one she should never want, but he’s the only one who’d also protect her with his life.
Protected by a SEAL, a stand-alone novel, is book six in the Alpha SEALs series.
This is my first book by Makenna Jameison. I know this book is part of a series but it didn't matter as I was easily able to get in to the book and I will certain be picking up the other books in the series soon.
I always love Navy Seal books and this one didn't disappointment. I was quickly sucked in the story and the characters lives. I really liked both characters both Ella and Cobra were easy to connect with and who can resist a book about a sexy navy seal. It's very well written and flows well with a good story line. It was a fairly short read and I have read it over a couple of nights but the author packs a lot in this short book. It was a a great read with plenty of hot steamy sessions.
Over a great enjoyable read.
* I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
So I was excited to read Brent’s book, but I didn’t feel like I was given much new information about his character in this book. Brent still seemed like an arrogant, self-absorbed jerk. It seemed like the book was a constant repeat of “Brent’s a guilt-ridden man whore chasing away his guilt with random women”. Lots of internal dialogue, but not much conversation between any of the characters. I pretty much skimmed most of the internal part to get the gist of what was going on in the book.
Glad Ella and Brent got their HEA, but this book seemed a bit lacking to me.
I am glad that Brent finally got his own story. I enjoyed seeing how the relationship developed between him and Ella and am anxiously awaiting Commander Mitchell's story
We've met the hero and heroine in the book prior to this one.
When he helped on of his SEAL members out when their now girlfriend from being attacked, he found himself enchanted by her friend who was there with her. He can't get her out of his mind and he's barely even touched her.
Our heroine has always taken care of herself after losing everything when she was younger and has been making her own way. This includes putting herself through school while working on the bar where she gets paid a good wage. However, she's been getting tired of it lately and when her friend was attacked she knew it was time to leave the situation.
However, since leaving the owner is still calling her and demanding her return. He knows she needs the money to finish her degree and the only way she's getting her job back is to do something extra for him as well as work. Finally, she gives in and finds herself being abused but can't think of how she can get away. When she's kidnapped, the hero has made a reappearance in her life and notices things. When she's taken, he's hot on their tail and knows they will not get away with this. However, with her background, will she trust him enough to believe he will help her or will she try and do things herself? Will they succeed either way?
This was a pretty good story line and I can understand where the heroine was coming from. I've never been approached exactly this way, but it does happen. Its hell trying to put yourself through school as I was trying to do exactly that and working three part time jobs. It sounds like our heroine had and even worse time than me.
You could tell the hero wanted to help the heroine out but she's got her pride too. I liked how this played out in the end.
Protected by a SEAL Alpha SEALs, Book 6 By: Makenna Jameison Narrated by: Sophie James
Gotta love these SEALs! Makenna Jameison continues her series with Brent's story, and I have to say, he may be my favorite. Living with guilt is taking a toll on Brent and his way of dealing with it is getting old. Sleeping around does not have the appeal it once had, especially with Ella in his sights. Ella is home from college after an altercation at work. Brent knows she is off limits, but the chemistry between these two is palpable. But now she is going back, and the danger is still lurking near. Will Brent be able to not only keep her safe but make her his own? Let me tell you, Jameison knows how to write the military romantic suspense. A touch a fear, a protective, alpha male and a smart, beautiful heroine head up the cast that includes some of our favorites from the previous books in the series. It's fast paced, passionate and exciting. I love this couple!
Sophie James continues her narration of this series and I absolutely adore her voice. Her talent raises the suspense level and keeps the sensuality hot! I love her and always look forward to her performances.
This is another great story by Makenna Jameison. I enjoyed this book very much and found it to be a great ending to the series. I would recommend this book to anyone.
I really enjoyed this book's storyline. I really liked the hot & steamy scenes. I really liked Brent's character. Ella's character was okay. I felt sorry for Ella. I really liked the ending.
Another excellent book by this author. One that I will remember fondly in the future. The plot involving the bar owner was gripping and more than satisfying. The sex scenes were raw but effective. I want more from this author.
Absolutely loved this book. Have been waiting for Brent's story and wasn't disappointed. As always the Seals take care of their women. Can't wait for Ryan's story. Great job Makenna.
