One con artist bride. One cocky ex-lover. One chance to sting a thief...
A reformed grifter, Renny O'Laughlin, thinks marriage will make an honest woman of her, but the day before her wedding, she discovers her employer has been duped. Her conscience demands she make things right--which means visiting her ex.
Playboy Conroy Burke never loses, but he lost Renny. When she tells him how his Gran was tricked, he sees a chance to win back his wildcard. It's a simple matter of setting up a swindler, avoiding inept kidnappers, and facing his nemesis--today.
Sass and sparks fly as one small detour becomes a madcap adventure and devolves into a life-threatening encounter with serious criminals. She's supposed to get married tomorrow, but maybe she'll go to jail--if she survives at all. Either way, Renny is never going to make it to the altar on time.

This wasn't my cup of tea. With six different povs and six backstories sometimes the story was bogged down, at other times it whizzed by the important moments in a hurry to cover a plot point. Then again, maybe as a writer my internal editor kept getting in the way and a reader wouldn't have an issue with these points. There were a few idosyncracies, for example, why would the hero need the con artist's paltry $50K to invest in his new game when he'd made millions in the IPO? Also, I wasn't enamoured with the hero, he seemed very childish, writing nasty things about his execs on the walls of the men's washrooms. I did like the last two pages, which I won't detail here to prevent a spoiler. As it was a free download I can't complain too much.
This was super hard to categorize. I'm not sure this really falls into the romance genre because way more of the plot was dedicate to this conning the con man storyline then to the relationship between the hero and heroine (and there was a secondary hero and heroine's romance to follow as well). This was a first read from this author and there's potential here but this particular one didn't grab me.
Really funny romantic comedy. It actually reminded me of the tv show the mentalist at times with connor's gaming tactics and scheming mind. A great light read :)
4 stars I received a free copy of Hustled to the Altar by Dani Collins and this review was given freely. Billionaire and gamer Conroy returns to town just in time to stop an insurance scammer and stop reformed con artist Renny from marrying someone else. Coincidence with a little help from an interfering grandmother interconnect the characters in multiple ways providing you with two second chance at love rocky romances with multiple twists. Irony, humor, innuendos and multiple cons combine to form this entertaining fast paced second chance at love romance.
Fricken loved loved loved this book. Made me laugh and made me mad. Characters are fun and fascinating to follow. The book is long and just the right amount. Worth buying. Very happy purchase!
The two main characters Con and Renny are really great to watch as they interact with eachother. Con is a brilliant 'Con'artist and ia always a ten steps ahead of everyone.
Recommend to anyone who enjoys and laugh and likes to read aomething different every once in a while. Romance and unique. Recommend to romance lovers and to both a young and more mature reader. ❤
First off, I loved this story. It was fast paced, exciting, funny and romantic. Also, slightly confusing. While it certainly works as a stand-alone, I really wanted more of the back story. Did I miss reading a previous storyline? -because I would really be interested in spending more time with these characters. Perhaps I can anticipate a sequel as well?
It was super choppy. All over the place. Didn't have a back story and had no idea what was going on. Characters had backstories, but you didn't know that until you figured out that they knew each other from before, but it wasn't something that was said right away. Very confusing for sure.
I had a very hard time getting into this story. There was just to many povs to really get to know any one of them on any personal level. It did have some good parts that thankfully keep me from being bored or not finishing it.
I normally enjoy Dani's book. This one had too many POV. More of a mystery/adventure with a side plot of some romance going on. Would have been nice if it was less adventure and more nice... and only the dual POV instead of multiple.
Hustled to the Altar reads like a romantic comedy starring Sandra Bullock and Matthew McConaughey. There are some twists to the story I think readers will enjoy as well as the story itself. There are a couple of sex scenes that might wake a few up. The story is interestingly constructed and has a few scenes that feel forced to push forward the whole story but it gets right back on track quickly. The main characters are interesting and fun to get to know. In the beginning, Renny is hard to warm up to but once she shows her true colors, you will easily get behind her. Conroy is a real lovable jerk. You will hope through the whole story that he grows up. Pick up this romantic comedy and be on the look out for it in the theaters. I would almost bet it will get picked up.
Oh dear god, what have I read. Got to page 70 and just had to give up. Rarely have I read or rather attempted to read such a disjointed story. That's an hour of my life I won't get back. I hate leaving bad comments and remarks as I know the poor author has spent time and effort on a story just wish the story was as good as the cover suggested.
