The fifth volume of the Sex series sees a lot less in-and-out and more stabby-stabby, kill-kill, which I am afraid to admit sees an improvement in this somewhat tepid salacious series! 8 out of 12 Four Stars. Collects Sex #27-34. The creators announced the end of this as a comic book series, saying that it will move ahead as a graphic novel series only. is this the shape of things to come for the comic book industry?

Don't you just hate series that get canceled, leaving the story in mid air? This is exactly why I can't read ongoing series, so I usually wait for them to finish. Casey doesn't seem to have written anything new after its hiatus, so I'll probably never know how it ends. And it was going so strong.

Simon wants to find out more about Weber, so he sets up a meeting with him and asks Annabelle to tail him. The Skins make a move on Yoshika's suite, but Simon has her leave on a helicopter. The Old Man's personal bodyguards Raymond and Reggie haven't told anyone about his death and are keeping the turf war going by fighting back with a new player on the scene.

Sting himself would envy the tantric pace of Joe Casey and Piotr Kowalski's post-superhero saga, but this volume starts bringing matters to some kind of, well, climax. Most of the many plots move significantly forward and the sense of characters manoeuvring around one another that's characterised most of the book's run drops away. Would get a higher mark were it not for the sudden detour into more mystical territory than suits the previous tone. Yes, part of the appeal of Sex is the "what if Milo Manara did a Batman comic?" angle, but of all the things to borrow, Ra's Al Ghul seems the worst fit. Still, it's been a 'fun ride' and I wish Sex the best of success with its shift to trade-only publication. I'll be sticking around for volume 6.

Gang warfare, politics, sex and violence – more of the same – fun stuff

This series is about politicians, businessmen and gangs vying for control of Saturn City. Nobody seems to be honest and trustworthy. As the title implies, sex plays a major part in these power games. Our “hero”, retired crime-fighter Simon Cooke is playing his part as are others as two gangs vie for control and crime lords also try their luck. Super-powered individuals feature as well on all sides

A little reminiscent of the world of Largo Winch but with more sex and violence. Becoming more and more interesting, it's an engaging series but I hope that the creators don't drag it out for too long.

Maybe it is the effect of the past two years but conspiracy theories and eastern mythologies aren't all they are cracked up to be. Also, there is a standard set up here that is bothering me and if it runs that way, then I am just going to be angry at the writer.

A benefit to having a book about sex, somewhat, is that there are a lot of women characters. Some of them are quite good. I just wish that it didn't take this type of thing to bring them up.

More destruction and injury. And, of course, I had no idea what was going on. Seems like way too much was going on. This was not a clear good one.

This powder keg is about to blow in the most spectacular way. Looking forward to Vol 6.
