3.5 Getting Punished by The Punisher Stars

*May have Spoilers*

 photo raw_zpslelnvnz1.gif

"Are you turning me down?" "Yes," she said seriously. "I have no interest in your bed." He stepped closer, almost touching her body. "I'm not called The Punisher for no reason." "Well, baby, then go find yourself someone else to punish," she said, staring into his eyes. "I can fuck any girl here," he said, staring at her lips. She was taken aback at the crude comment. "Then I suggest you better get to work."-Trent and Sam

Going the Distance was a pretty good read for me. I enjoyed Trent. He was sexy, totally arrogant, dominate, and had a very filthy mouth. Sam was cute. She was so sassy. I love me some sassy heroines. I liked that Sam came from a bad background but she didn't let that define her or hold her back! The problem I had with the book the reason this book was just a pretty good read for me and not a great read was because I didn't connect to Sam and Trent as a couple.

 photo shrug-house_zpsle9lprym.gif

"I've waited long enough," he said against her lips. "Tonight, you're mine. I'm gonna fuck you until you scream my goddamn name." The declaration should have alarmed her, but instead, she pressed her hips against him eagerly, wanting so badly what he promised. "We'll see if you live up to your name,"-Trent and Sam

Don't get me wrong the sexy time was there and it was hot. And I liked Sam and Trent as individual characters but I didn't feel their relationship. Or more like I didn't think they really had one. They had like 3 dates, some sexy time, lots of time apart then at the end they are together. I didn't even get an I love you from either! I just felt like I needed more. More relationship development, more time together so I could understand why they even chose each other.

 photo giphy_zpszxsczpap.gif

"I gave you a glimpse into the life you missed out on, Trent, but I don't know why I bothered. I was right the first time we met. You really are an asshole." He thought he'd been stunned before, but now her really didn't know what to say. She stared up at him with hardened eyes and he wondered how he could have been such an ass, "With each day and night we spent together, I got to know and like you more. You restored my faith in humanity again, but what the fuck do I know?"-Sam

All that being said it was still an enjoyable read. It was fast pace, had some hot sexy time, a yummy boxer, a sassy reporter, besties girl time, and some sweet dates. I just would have liked more and maybe an epilogue. I would read more from this author and this series!

***4,5 "Little Minx" stars***

This was a light, short, sexy reading about a hot as hell, cocky fighter and a feisty, sassy and dynamic heroine...
Even though this novel was short, i catched myself to enjoy this story very much!!!

I loved both Trent and Samantha... I liked the burning chemistry between them, but what i've liked even more was the fact that even the book was so short, the pace that the things were moving was very good!!!

Everything started with a slap in a Las Vegas club...
Trent's attention captured by a girl, but his tactic wasn't the best... and that earned him a slap that he will never forget!!! At the same night that he had his first loss in more than a decade!!!

Samantha hated this cocky man that he thought he was the king of the world and her ethic couldn't bare the humiliation that he caused her, so her insticts took place and she reacted with a slap on his face...

Days later, Samantha is in a very difficult position...

Her boss is giving her an ultimatum... She had to take an interview from a fighter that he never gives interviews or she will lose her job...
The most awful thing in this deal??? The fighter is the same guy who slap in Vegas!!!!

And he is determined to make her life a living hell...

From this moment, a sexy game is starting between those two...
Trent is trying to win her in exchange of the interview and Samantha is trying to avoid this position with other tactics...

Who will win this fight???
What will happen when they learn each other better and fall for one another???
What about their original plans and the distraction that they are causing to each other???

"He'd consider giving her an interview if she gave him more of what he wanted. The thought made him clench his jaw. Now he was willing to break his own rules for her.
This was dangerous business."

I loved Trent very much!!!
He was sexy, cocky, arrogant and very funny...
Yep, in the beginning was acting like a pig but in a way i understood him...

That one loss made him feel so insecure about his fighting skills and he had to focus on his goal to become better and return back to the ring...
But that little minx came unexpectedly in his life and demanded his heart and soul and he couldn't allow that, as much as he was burning for her...

"Trent didn't need that right now in his life...
He still had a few years left in him... so fighting should be his priority. Not women. Or not one woman, to be precise. Lots of women were fine, but one in particular wasn't. Because that one lone woman could make him lose his fucking mind."

I also loved Samantha...
The girl was a fighter... She was feisty, sassy, smart, sweet when she wanted to and very kind. Trent made her a very bad impression, but she had to admit that he was so damn sexy!!! But she didn't want to be another one girl in the line...

So, even though that her body was betraying her every time she was near to him, her mind was refusing to surrend in his sexy ways... So she tried to play by her own rules... even though that she hadn't so much success in that plan... LOL!!!

"Even though this was part of her work mission, she couldn't lie to herself. She liked Trent. There was something about his arrogance that was magnetic."

Trent and Samantha were having such a chemistry...
Their interactions were funny and sexy!!!
And damn me, that interview melt my panties!!!

So, as you can understand from above, i really enjoyed this book...
I couldn't get enough of it and i can't wait for the rest of the books in the "No excuses" series...

I had high hopes for this one. The blurb made it sound right up my alley. Unfortunately, it just didn't end up being that great for me.

My main problem was Trent himself. He was such a HUGE self-centered egotistical douchenoodle at the start that I was already over him five minutes after being introduced to him. But I continued on hoping that we would see some character growth and I would warm up to him. That never happened. He pretty much stayed the same self-centered asshole through the whole book.

description

Nothing he did made me think this guy wanted the heroine for more than a f@ck. Even the sex scenes screamed "lay of the day." This wasn't helped by the lack of time these two characters spent together. Three dates, two f@cks, where he basically left while she was sleeping and ignored her for days/weeks. Then after not hearing from him for months he shows up at her door at the end saying "I want forever with you" I was like WTF?

Now that said, this DID have the bones to be a really great story and I think the story had a lot of potential. The relationship between the H/h just needed to be fleshed out more and maybe a little more character growth from the hero would have been nice.

This was an extremely fun and steamy read! Mila’s writing style is gorgeous and I connected with her characters immediately. The story is absolutely interesting so it’s no surprise that I’ve read it in one sitting. Trent and Sam are both very complex characters who have been through a lot and the chemistry between them is phenomenal. I loved getting to know them both more and I was rooting for them throughout this whole book, of course. Sam is such a great character… I mean, she listens to Aaliyah, that’s surely a bonus point!

Overall, this is a great, short read, perfect for everyone who is looking for some fun for, let’s say, a rainy Friday night.

4.75 "she made a difference" stars

This is the highest rating i have given to any novella i have read so far...and this one deserves it to the pin point!

My demands for a joyous reading of a novella are based on covering all the aspects that rule in this literal form and here they were almost all reached and fulfilled...

and in this case I simply wanted another glimpse into the future of the characters' lives...

Other than that, this was surprisingly refreshing read concerning the approach in bringing out the storyline, and the writing style that simply flows effortlessly, specifically emphisizing the profiles of the characters, which is so hard to do in a novella where you are limited by number of pages and the very same stipulations of the mentioned literal form.

It has every segment implemented at the right pace, at the right time...

The untipical asshole boxer for a hero, that turned out to be a "masked" hardened and hard working driven man dedicated to his profession and love for boxing...and practically nothing else, until one night it all fell down, when he lost his first fight EVER...

 photo boxer1_zpse4skmvhk.jpg

Too bad a man who looked like that had the personality of a Tasmanian devil.

he' s known for never giving an interview in his entire career, until she imposed herself, the writer for a magazine that has been asigned to write an article about the said boxer....and she has to make him change his mind.
Goddamn, she was a piece of work, violent and demanding, like an army general, and he fucking loved it.

But the only thing he wants from her that would make worth of his time is the only thing she s not willing to put out...no matter how tempting and torturous the pulling chemistry between them is...

With a change of approach, fresh tactics and humorous banter and sexually charged bickering between them,
"Sorry, I don't know what got into me."

"So far, nothing got into you, babe, but we'll change that."

well one can only put up with much...lol
"Who is it?"
"Me"
"Me, who?" she asked, unable to keep from smiling.
"You know damn well who it is."

she will not only change his answer regarding the interview but the change will take on the risk of altering both of their lives...for the better, but not before some doubtful clouds blur the judgement based on uncertainy rather than the warming feeling that's engulfing them both.
Boxing was his life, always had been, and that was in jeopardy now. He had to focus his energy on making that right again.

Letting Sam disturb his life would only complicate things. He couldn't train and try to win again while being distracted by her.

BUT his resistance was actually futile cause
He was addicted to her, he was sure of it.

but he still manages to mess things up with the old assholery ways...when she tries to make him see, that there's more to him...than what he's trying to show...
"I gave you a glimpse into the life you missed out on, Trent, but I don't know why I bothered. I was right the first time we met. You really are an asshole.

With each day and night we spent together, I got to know and like you more. You restored my faith in humanity again, but what the fuck do i know

there's nothing more thrilling out there like a little bit of groveling...cause basically when the realization hits him full front, he'll stake his claim, this time for the right reasons.
"Babe, I wanna do everything with you."
"Why?"
"You made me feel, babe...I'm so fucking crazy about you..."

Spot on, Trent, spot on! *wink*

Those were only a few highlights from the Trent Page's and Sam Wellington's story, which I've enjoyed immensly in. And since this was my first read by author Mila Rossi it most certainly won't be the last one.

This is the story of Sam and Trent!

This is a difficult book to write a review for because it is a short story and there was no actual development of the characters or the situations. This is not the first time I read a short story but this is one felt kind of off. The plot was nice but it felt rushed and swallow. The characters had no dimension if I take into consideration their past. And I couldn't feel their connection. I get it that Trent was hot and Sam was foxy but it didn't feel enough to me. The actual issue for me was the pace of the book. Everything moved really fast.

On the positive side, the interactions of Sam and Trent were nice. There was tension and action. The story was written by a dual POV and it was nicely done.

I honestly believe that if this story was an extended book, it would have been so much better.

Samantha is desperate to get an exclusive interview with Trent Paige, a world champion boxer. A man she recently slapped across the face in a night club.

This guy shys away from all reporters and keeps himself out of the public eye as much as possible. If Samantha could convince him to open up to her it would be the making of her career. However, their first meeting did not end well so she needs to think outside the box to coax him into even considering talking to her.

She already has her own thoughts and opinion of him but as she sets out to change his mind about sharing some of himself with his fans, she learns there is much more to this man than she realised. He has been so focused on his career that he has missed out on the simple things in life. Through Samantha he begins to think differently about his life and the impact he can make on others, instead of closing himself off.

This is a great friends to lovers story that can be enjoyed in one sitting.

I really tried. There are so many things wrong with the hero. He is such a douche, I just can't warm up to him. Every second word coming out of his mouth is either a swear word or some come-on towards the heroine which is always a reference to fucking the heroine. He thinks he is god's gift to women and I just can't see how the heroine starts falling for him. They haven't even had a serious talk yet. And honestly, a hero saying "I know you didn't ask me to be a good boy. I'm The fucking Punisher" doesn't do much for me....

I really wanted to like this but this time it was the hero who broke it for me.

If you're looking for a short and sexy read, this is a good book to check out. I am a huge fan of sports romances, and I especially love boxers, having grown up with legends like Oscar De La Hoya. I wouldn't say I was in love with this book or the main characters, but I did enjoy the story and the way Sam and Trent's relationship developed organically. There wasn't any insta-love, which was such a welcome relief. I hate insta-love!

Sam wasn't a pushover, which I liked from the start. I thought her backstory seemed a little forced in some ways. Her parents were drug addicts, something that attributed to her crazy driving and dysfunctional life, but I didn't really think that added anything to the book. Her friends were there but sort of an afterthought. I can't remember the names of her friends at all.

If the story with her parents had somehow come into play with Sam's relationship with Trent, aka The Punisher, I could see that being important, but I thought her childhood didn't make a bit of difference. It didn't add anything to her character development. She didn't evolve as a character. Trent was the one who needed to grow up and get it together.

I liked Trent as a character. It was his sexy mouth and some seriously heated sexual tension that kept me reading until the end. I kept thinking of De La Hoya, who I've had a crush on since forever. Still do. I also thought of my favorite boxer from years ago, Kelly Pavlik, who is now retired. I also liked that in the end Sam was able to change this bad boy and make him a better man.

I downloaded a copy from Kindle Unlimited and would recommend this book to anyone who likes sport romances and alpha males.

REVIEW

Okay, so first of all, I really liked Trent and Sam as separate, individual characters. Their strengths and weaknesses were very well-highlighted, and it gave them a 'wholeness' of character. Trent had the whole 'I can have anything I want' persona perfected down to a notch, despite his first loss. Sam was a strong and sassy character who didn't back down from the challenges life threw at her.

However, I didn't feel their relationship. It felt as if the author was telling us everything and not showing it to us. I wanted Sam's background to be revealed slowly. You know, by making the reader feel as if something's not right, and not being dumped upon us in one singular sentence. There were only one or two moments where the author tried to keep up the mysterious element before revealing everything about her past. Though, I think that the mystery was solved the very first time the author tried to niggle the readers interest in Sam's past. Plus, I would've liked a little more detail regarding everything because it all felt rushed.

With that said, the novella is an enjoyable read if you're looking for a 'feel-good' story. I liked the way Sam went about to bribe Trent into giving an interview (no, she did not accept his suggestion right away and tried a different method - though, it should be said that there were quite a bit of interesting times *winks*). So if you want to treat yourself with a boxer, a sassy heroine and sexy moments then this is your book!!

When Samantha slaps a hot but arrogant stanger who comes on to her in a Vegas nightclub the last thing she expects is for her job to be on the line if she doesn't get a never been done before interview with him but that's exactly what happens. Samantha Wellington's a reporter and her boss wants her to be the first to get an interview with Trent "The Punisher" Page Heavyweight World Champion who's just lost his first ever fight of his career when she realises that Trent is none other than the cocky foul mouthed stranger she slapped on the face she tries her best to get out of trying to get an interview with him but she's under orders to so she puts her big girl pants on and rises to the challenge. When she turns up at Trent's gym and he realises who she is and why she's there a battle of wills commences which sees us getting to know the real Trent Pace, yes although he's full of himself, cocky, arrogant, foul mouthed, gorgeous and 100% alpha-male there's more to him that many don't see and the more Samantha sees the more she likes. She does get her interview and let me tell you what an interview it was well the way in which she got it was, it was pantie melting but it went downhill after that with Trent in a way shutting her out seeing her as a distraction he didn't need only to realise he did need her more than that he wanted her, all's good in the end they get their HEA. This was a great fast paced read with some funny banter between the two main characters and a decent amount of hot steamy sex

This was a pretty good story. I liked Sam and Trent and enjoyed their story overall. This is the first story I've read by this author and I liked it well enough that I'd consider trying more of her work in the future.

Samantha (aka Sam) is a reporter for a newspaper. Sam grew up with parents that were both junkies so she grew up tough and very self-reliant. She doesn't usually write sports but the paper lost their sports writer recently and things are tough enough that her editor is making due.

Trent is s fighter known as "The Punisher" and is the current champ in his division. He lost his parents early and a fight promoter took him in. Trent focused on fighting early and has never looked back. Trent's a player that sees women as interchangeable and he doesn't usually see a woman more than once.

Right before the story begins, Trent loses his first fight. He's trolling a bar in Vegas afterwards trying to forget his loss and happens into an encounter with a woman he tries to pick up. Trent pushes things, thinking his celebrity status should get him whomever he wants, and he gets a harsh slap on his face to teach him not to manhandle ladies. The woman ends up being Sam, who happens to be in Vegas with her 2 BFFs ofr a few days. Unfortunately for Sam, once she gets home and goes back to work, her editor decides that he needs an interview with "The Punisher" (who never gives interviews). He assigns it to her, telling her she has to get the interview or lose her job.

When Sam researches "The Punisher", she finds out that he's the guy that she soundly slapped in the club and that she'd basically humiliated him right after he'd lost his first fight. Not that he deserved slack for that...he was a jerk. But that did make it even less likely that Sam would get Trent to give her an interview. Sam manages to get Trent's attention and while he doesn't give her an interview right away, he does hang out with her a bit in order to allow her to attempt to "earn" her interview. He wants physical "encouragement" but she goes for something a bit more meaningful. Unfortunately, Trent is determined that he can't allow anything to interfere with his fighting, not even the right woman. Thankfully, Trent does come to his senses and the story ends with Trent and Sam heading into what seems likely to be a HEA for them.

This was an enjoyable story. Sam was a likable character overall. Trent was alright but it was hard to like him when he's actively planning to dump Sam for reasons that seem rather lame. But he had some good points too, especially his comeback...I sure would have liked some insight about what turned his opinion around though. Overall, this was a good story with (mostly) likable characters and it kept me engaged. :)

As soon as you start reading, you know it's going to be good..
The chemistry between Sam & Trent is instant.
Even though it was a short story,I really enjoyed it.
Sam and Trent both have reasons not to open up to
people, and keeping them at arms length (in there own way).
But eventually they both show each other what they're
missing out on.Can't wait to read the others in the series.

I got a free copy of this fun novella from the author, and I quite enjoyed it ;) I read only one of her other books, actually one written under the pseudonym Alice Lake and really liked that historical romance, so when she approached me with a proposition to read one of her contemporary stories, I was definitely interested ;) since it’s a shorter read, my review will be a bit on the shorter side as well... after all, you don’t want me to spoil you every little detail of the book, right? ;) so how about before I go into all my thoughts and feelings, I will tell you a bit more about our main couple and the whole story between them ;)

Sam and Trent... *sighs* what can I tell you about them... ;) they definitely have a very memorable first encounter... he is having one of the worst nights in his life, and when he tries to pick her up in a bar in Las Vegas, where she is spending annual girls weekend with her friends, he doesn’t do a very good job... to be honest, he acts like a total jerk, so I am not blaming her for slapping the hell out of him... ;) I kid you not, she does it... I told you it’s a memorable encounter ;) but don’t worry, he’s not acting like that the whole book... he doesn’t magically change in the next chapter or anything, but I definitely ended up really liking him, so there’s hope for you as well ;) so imagine her surprise, and utter dread when after coming home she discovers that she has to get an interview with him, because her job depends on it... because little did she knew, he’s a famous boxer, who actually on the day they met lost his first fight... so you can imagine how awkward their next meeting is... ;) but she is very determined to get him to say „yes” so she comes up with a plan... a plan that involves them meeting for a few times over a span of few weeks... ;) and that is all I’m gonna say about the plot of the book ;) theirs is a relationship full of contradictions... on the one hand, it’s slow burn... they don’t see each other very often, and things change slowly between them... on the other hand there are moments of total and unexpected heat and attraction ;) but what I love about those moments is how Sam reacts to them ;) she totally acknowledges that it’s pure attraction, and that she really shouldn’t feel that way because she doesn’t even like him ;) at least not at first ;) because the more time they actually spend together, the more they start to like one another ;)

Overall I really liked this book ;) the writing style was good, which made reading this story very easy... and trust me, that is not the case every time ;) writing style is actually the first thing I judge when I read a book... cause I can have troubles with the plot or characters, after all we like to read about different types of people and we have personal preferences for a reason ;) but when the writing style is good, it makes everything better ;) that’s why even though Trent annoyed me at the beginning I kept reading... ;) I was curious what’s gonna happen next ;) and even though the actual resolution felt a bit rushed, even for a novella, I liked it ;) it was a fun and uncomplicated book, without lots of drama and angst, so if this story sounds interesting to you, definitely give it a try ;)

XOXO

“You make me feel, babe.”

Going The Distance is such a fun, steamy, short read about a cocky boxer who thinks he’s all that and a bag of chips and a spunky, feisty reporter who doesn’t take anyone’s crap. It’s told in dual points of view and will have you panting from all the crazy tension between the two characters.

Sam was enjoying her last night of a mini vacation with her girlfriends in a Vegas club when she was summoned by “The Punisher” to come have a good time. As if his arrogance and his nickname wasn’t enough, he also had a foul mouth that earned him a good slap across the face. Little did Sam know though, was that the man who she just slapped and put in his place will be the key to keeping her job afloat. The only problem was, Trent Paige didn’t do interviews….ever.

“Even though this was part of her work mission, she couldn’t lie to herself. She liked Trent. There was something about his arrogance that was magnetic.”

I loved Sam, she was so feisty and had a huge attitude but she was also sweet, level headed and extremely funny. Although she despised the way that Trent talked about women, she ended up giving him a real chance. I loved the ideas she came up with to try to win an interview with him. Trent had everything in the world and Sam had very little to give him but when she found out about his background, she tried giving him things that would hopefully mean something to him. Her heart was huge, and I loved watching it open up whenever she was with Trent.

“I gave you a glimpse into the life you missed out on, Trent, but I don’t know why I bothered. I was right the first time we met. You really are an asshole.”

Trent Paige (The Punisher) is a sexy, manly, foul-mouthed boxer who takes whatever he wants. You couldn’t help but love him though, as much as you wanted to slap him across the face just like Sam had the pleasure of doing. You also wanted to jump his bones at the same time. Trent is fun and carefree but he is also battling to get back up from his first career loss. I loved watching Sam get to him and break some of his walls down. Their back and forth banter was probably my favorite part in this book.

“This isn’t appropriate,” she mumbled, letting her eyes travel from his face to his body, then back again.
“Since when do I give a shit about what’s appropriate?”

This was my first time reading anything from Mila Rossi, she does a lot of short reads but if they are all like Going The Distance then they pack a punch. I loved how she created this fun, light story but she gave the characters troubling pasts that gives the plot a little deeper meaning. Oh, and also a hot steamy romance of course!

If you are looking for a quick, fun book then check Going The Distance out! I enjoyed reading it and it made me chuckle more than once. I definitely reccomened it to all my romance lovers out there. Trent paige (The Punisher) is something else!

**A big thank you to the Author for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**

The moment Samantha slapped Trent in the nightclub I wanted to cheer! I knew right then that I was going to love her character and their story. I wasn't wrong.
Samantha is a tough, independent woman who doesn't take crap from anyone no matter how famous or good looking they are.
Trent is an arrogant arse with a dirty mouth who needs to be taken down a peg or two. Samantha is just the girl to do that as she doesn't give a toss that he's famous. I loved how she didn't just fall at his feet like every other girl but instead drew him in through little acts of kindness and made him wait while they got to know each other.
The more naughty scenes were very well written and not too frequent. I like a book to be more plot driven and I thought that the author got the balance just right.
I didn't particularly warm to Trent very much simply because of his bad boy personality. We don't get to see Trent having that Eureka moment where he realises the boxing ring isn't the only place he has to up his game. I liked how he reached out to Samantha during his TV interview but I felt that Samantha deserved a little bit of grovelling before she gave him a second chance.

Another reason why I liked Samantha's character so much is that we know more about her life. She didn't have an easy upbringing and if the novel had been longer I would have liked that aspect to have been fleshed out more. We got glimpses of the peril she faced growing up and I thought it could have made an interesting subplot with an element of suspense had the author wanted to go in that direction.
Or maybe I just wanted to see Trent flex his muscles a little bit outside of the ring.

Overall, Going the Distance is a fast paced, addictive read and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

A quick and fun read.

I could easily relate to Samantha and I think most women will. Trent, on the other hand, might be just too much for some readers. His level of cockiness and arrogance were off the charts! I’m not a huge fan of alpha males but I kept reading because I was enjoying the plot and the chemistry between the main couple. The sexual tension was there but I was glad the author didn’t exaggerate on the sex. Some novellas make it all about the sex, and this wasn’t the case.

Going the Distance was an easy read with a steady pacing. It was my first read by Mila Rossi and won't be the last one.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

The witty banter back and forth between the two main characters makes the book. From the very beginning, Samantha is clear she isn't impressed by the massive man who thinks he can have any woman in the Vegas club and tells her so while trying to manhandle her. He is full of himself and comes off as a shallow, foul-mouthed muscle head. She embarrassed him in front of his buddies, took off and thought she'd never see him again. (Made me laugh- well described and skillfully written.)

The joke's on her. If she wants to keep her job, and she does want to keep her job, she has to interview the champ. Turns out, the champ is the very guy she'd made such a great impression on at the club and the chances of getting him to talk to her are slim to none. He's never given an interview to anyone previously and he isn't going to start now. In fact, if she wants an interview, she's going to have to play by his rules. He seemed to take great delight in luring Samantha in as he controlled the situation.

But who is really in control of this little game of cat and mouse? And who's going to win? Lots of fun getting to the end game! Quick, interesting, fast paced read.

This book was my first book by Mila Rossi. Great book and storyline. I absolutely loved Sam, may even have a girl crush on her She was tough and kick ass. She is a reporter in Las Vegas to relax with some friends. This is where she meets Trent, he is a boxer that just lost his first fight and sends over bodyguards for her, which pisses her off. Then he comes over himself and says some highly inappropriate things to her, which causes him to get slapped.

Long story short, her boss makes her go and get an interview with Trent aka The Punisher, about his first los, but her never gives interview. So, she is trying to convince him and sets up 1 day a week where she will take him to do something he has never done before, since he has everything else.

These 2 have so much chemistry, which I loved. You already know I really liked Sam too, wasn't much of a Trent fan, he was a bit of an ass at times he should of been a bit more grown up. I would have given this 3 stars, but he makes up for it at the end of the book, when he finally pulls his head out of his butt. I love some good groveling.

This was my first book by the lovely Mila Rossi and I'm so happy to have experienced her writing. Samantha and Trent keep you sucked into the story in strong vice grip where you just can't stop until the end. Samantha has so many traits that you can't help but love. Her strength and strong will make for some intense and amazing parts. Trent is this badass fighter who has hit his low point. He is trying to get out of it when he meets Samantha. You definitely need to get your hands on this book! You won't be disappointed.

Samantha would have never guessed that the stranger she slapped in a Vegas nightclub could jeopardize her job. She is a reporter and her boss wants her to get an interview with Trent Page, The Punisher, Heavyweight World Champion, who has just lost the first match in his career. She was shocked to find that stranger was Trent. Will she able to convince him to give her the interview?

The chemistry between the two was smoking! I really enjoyed this book and it's a great read!!

I adored this book. I was able to connect with two people who were both fighters in their own right. Both Sam and Trent had fought through tough childhoods and came out swinging on the other end. Their chemistry exploded off the pages (well my Kindle), and I enjoyed every moment. I'm excited for book 2 of the series.

"Going the Distance" was an unexpected surprise. It's only about 125 pages and really packed a punch and quite honestly I was surprised how much I enjoyed it.

Journalist, Samantha Wellington was out doing what women do: get together to have a girl's weekend in Vegas. While having fun with her friends on the dance floor, Sam is approached by the body guards of Trent "The Punished" Page. He just lost his very fight and wants a women to work out some of his frustration. Sam is shocked and is having none of it. So, she sends the bodyguards off with their tails between their legs. Since she refused them, Trent approaches her. She turns him down and he speaks to her so crudely that she slaps him. Needless to say he is shocked.

When Sam arrives back home and back to work, she is told by her boss that she must interview The Punisher or lose her job. Trent is known for never giving interviews and because of the slap Sam gave him, she was going to have a helluva time trying to get him to talk to her. But one thing for sure, after surviving two junkie parents and moving out on her own at eighteen Sam is not one to give up easily as The Punisher is about to find out.

Mila Rossi has packed a lot about the human spirit in this short tale and the sex is really hot too! If you want a short but memorable romantic read, definitely put "Going the Distance" on your to read list.

Once you slap the hell out of the light heavyweight champion of the world on the night of his first loss, how do you convince him to give you an interview? That’s the dilemma Samantha Wellington finds herself in after turning down the most desirable yet foul-mouthed athlete she’s come across. Unfortunately for her, her job depends on getting his interview and this boxer’s not talking.

When Trent “The Punisher” Page is humiliated by the spunky reporter, then cornered for an interview, he does what he does best: he plays dirty. He didn’t earn his nickname for being nice, after all. If the little minx wants to know more about him, she’ll have to pay with the one thing she’s not willing to give - herself.

Her elements of surprise meet their match in his determination to succeed. With vastly different motivations, can they break down the enemy without jeopardizing themselves?

This is a review from my blog: www.donnasthoughtsonbooks.wordpress.com
♥♥♥♥♥

This is the first time I have read this author. I was given this book to read for an honest review.
I have to tell you the excerpt that I read got me intrigued. That is why I told the author I would read the book. I am looking forward to reading the others in this series as well.

Samantha or Sam as she is known by in the book was out on the town in Vegas with her two BFF's when she was approached by what looked like security guards telling me that someone wanted to talk to her. She blew them off. Then the man himself came over to talk to her. He was crude and she was not having any part of it. She ended up slapping the hell out of him.

Trent "The Punisher" Page could not believe that one a woman turned him down, and two she slapped him. He usually got what he wanted when he wanted it. He was not turned down by women ever.

Sam wrote for a newspaper and her boss told her that he had a job for her. She needed to interview this boxer that never gave interviews, not even when he won. When he told her the name she tried like everything to get someone else to do the interview. She did not tell her boss that he will probably not give her an interview due to the fact that she had turned him down in Vegas and slapped him on top of it. She went to her desk and began to do some research to try to get information on him to get the interview off to a better start.

Sam goes to the gym where Trent works out and when Trent comes outside to see who it is that is waiting for him he is floored to see it is her. Sam's mouth goes dry as Trent comes outside. He is so hot and she has to put that away to focus on the task. When Trent asks her what she wants she tells him she is there to get an interview with him.

Trent could not believe the nerve of her first turning him down and slapping him in a club in front of everyone, but now she is there to try and get an interview from him. He laughs in her face and tells her no way in hell.

They talk for a few more minutes and pretty much she is told the only way she will get an interview is if she sleeps with him. She is not going to let that happen. She is going to be a professional and get the job done. She comes up with a plan to get him to do the interview and even though he can't see any other way to get it he relents and sees what she has come up with.

They do a few things together that she has planned (but I am not going to tell you, you will have to read them to find out what they were and what happened and the reason why she chose those things).

As they did the things she set up they start to grow closer. They don't realized how close they are growing, if they do they are fighting it with everything they have. The more time they spend together the more they get to know each other in certain ways.

Now I am not going to tell you everything that happens in this book, if I tuned you in to all of the highlights there would be no reason for you to grab the book and read it, so I will leave what happens for the rest of the book for you to discover. But, I will leave you with some questions you can ask yourself and find the answers to as you read the book.

Does Sam get her interview and if she does, does she have to sleep with him to get it?

What does Trent think of all of the things that Sam has set up for them to do?

How close do they get to each other?

Do they get together?

You will love this book if you read it.

Thank you for reading my blog. I would love to hear from you.

Until Next Time: Happy Reading.
