The writer describes how, yearning for a remote getaway spot, he and his wife bought 160 acres in Nova Scotia and, enlisting their children and their daughter's carpenter boyfriend, built a home there. 25,000 first printing. National ad/promo.
A great book. An enjoyable read , with beautifully written prose and a feel good vibe. A tale of fall and redemption. We could all do with a cabin in Nova Scotia to go away to. A place of rest and renewal. Gave it five well deserved stars.
The story gives an intimate view of a troubled marriage that was saved by perseverance and a mutual commitment to create new life in a new place. My biggest complaint is likely an editing issue: the writer skips back and forth in time to previous history that takes the reader off the track of the developing story.
