Find the key to the Crooked World to live the adventure of your life! But beware... in the darkness lurks mortal Enemy. “The Quest for the Key” is a story of Paul, who wants SOMETHING MORE from his life. And of how his wish is granted by mysterious Friend, who takes him on a journey to the Crooked World. To find the truth about himself and his world, the boy will have to go on a long cruise on a sailing ship, discover the secrets of deserted islands and enter dark underground caves. But above all – he will face mortal Enemy. On his way through fairy-tale-like lands, he will be accompanied by a number of elves, dragons, monsters and a secretive griffin. His goal will be to find a key that will allow him to save a person he holds dear.
The Quest for the Key is a very gripping story, full of adventure and surprising moments. It has what I always look for in books: the depth. The book throws down an intellectual challenge to the reader, yet it is neither excessively hard or abstract nor clichéd. For me, it is a perfect combination of fast-flowing and interesting plot (a bit like Harry Potter’s) with wise and surprising message.
I have read the book a couple of times, still finding something new to me. It still grips me anew, so much so that I can’t put it down.
There are few such good fantasy books, I strongly recommend it.
Very simplistically written, but children may enjoy it. I found it had none of the complexity and interest of the Narnia books, however, although aimed at a similar age.
This book was well put together and I enjoyed reading it. The story can be a little slow but it will lead you through many paths and make our believe in life again. I received a free copy of this book from Reading Deals to read for a fair and honest review.
