Thank you Penguin Random House for creating the ongoing Annotated listing. This book took me down memory lane, and got me all excited over reading the other classics I have in piles waiting to be read.
Now, if I could just find older versions of the Annotated listing to add to my Penguin collection that would be splendid. My Penguin collection was technically started with one from the 1960's that my father read at University. I think is was a translation of the "Odyssey".
And somthing super cool would be a coffee table style book with the covers of different editions over the years.
✨ brief synopsis of hundreds of classics ✨ added innumerable books to my TBR list 💔 repeat entries 📌 definitely thought this was going to be a quick read. It was not!
Read the sonnets and 5 plays for a class. I like Shakespeare - but I understand him much better after spending time in the classroom going over the plays carefully and hearing someone else's viewpoint besides my own.
A really useful list for those who enjoy reading about books and going beyond the typical classics - not that those aren't usually the best. Still, you never know when you might find a hidden gem! This guide gives me lots of ideas for further reading.
