In #3, with a touch that means death, the Eradicator proves he’s a match for Superman, but his super-powered offspring may be more than anyone can handle—including the Man of Tomorrow.

You love Superman and dogs? Great, you will definitely love this issue.
Although full of exposition, issue three of Superman does not fail on bringing action and emotion together. Thanks to the superfamily, the series has that anchor that many could relate-family.
The eradicator story doesn't seem to be very appealing though. Tomasi could have embedded another generic plot and you'll still have a story.
Issue #3 was pretty good. I think Tomasi/Gleason's Superman(2016-) is way different than the other Rebirth titles at the moment. This story is going rather slowly, focusing on Superman's family, but it is really working. We are seeing sides to Superman that we haven't been shown before and that is why it is successful. It doesn't hurt that the art by Jorge Jimenez and the perfect coloring by Alejandro Sanchez makes these issues gorgeous. There is one page in particular at the beginning of this issue that was so beautiful. I think of all the Rebirth titles, this one has the most potential to be something special. I like Green Arrow more than this but I'm going to be curious what this Superman run ends up being, because, along with Action Comics, it could be something special in the Rebirth era.
Strong issue and another solid Superman storyline, pity this writing never hit the newest Superman on the big screen. I enjoyed the art and the General Zod design, this just worked much better than most Superman books.
Set up some interesting conflict for next time, but mostly exposition. Like that the focus now really seems to be what kind of super Jon will become, but this Clark is still so difficult to connect with. There's a coldness there that seems off.
When Superman and Lois bring an injured Jonathan to the Fortress of Solitude to better examine him, they discover a reconstituted Eradicator waiting for them. While helpful at first, the automaton soon explains his purpose to restore Krypton in a pure state and he must “purify” Jonathan by eradicating his human half!
The Eradicator is set up as the villain of this arc throughout this issue. We get a lot of exposition about his creation (slightly different from the version this Superman is familiar with), and his motivation, but his powers are still a bit fluid. He definitely takes a lot of inspiration from the T-1000 from the Terminator movies - he seems to have a fluidic element to his body, the ability to reform, and a strength that rivals Superman’s. He’s very creepy and has a singularity of purpose that only accentuates that creepiness! So far I think I like this version better than the old one. We’ll see.
Jonathan takes a backseat to the Eradicator this time since he spends the majority of the issue zoned out or on an examination table. The last few panels set him up for next issue in a big way! I’m looking forward to that! And we do get a cameo by Krypto in this issue. Not sure what his future is, though!
Jorge Jimenez is a great pinch hitter on the art this issue. He has a similar style to Gleason’s, so it isn’t a jarring change. The pages of the Eradicator’s backstory have a Terminator-like grimness to them that fits pretty well and the original appearance of the Eradicators is much more mechanical and menacing - certainly setting up more twists in future issues. Special call-out to the variant cover by Kenneth Rocafort for a nice portrayal of Clark and Jonathan suited up!
Another good chapter that really amps up the tension and still manages to keep the focus on Jonathan even when he’s not a big player in the issue.
Its finally picking up for me. This issue is quite good, well established story with a bit drama (the most moving part is about Krypto) and a lot of action. Its actually getting better as each issue progresses and I'm looking forward to this arc.
Superman takes Lois & his son to the old Superman's Fortress of Solitude to figure out why Jon's invulnerability is in flux.
Before the Fortress of Solitude can scan him to see what is wrong, The Eradicator (people from Krypton who had orders from Zod), explains that they have traveled from afar to find Superman.
Superman listens to him for a bit because he saves Lois & his son by telling them to get to safety before he fights Superman.
In the end, The Eradicator just wanted to create a new generation of Kryptonians & they want to cleanse Jon from his impurities that his mother (Lois) gave him.
Jon's eyes turn red so I am not sure if he is evil or not.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and the art was simply beautifully done but sadly the plot if there's any still fails to appear in front of me , the return of Eradicator had me more confused since i last read about him when he died at the hands of Doomsday , but now he's alive and he is about to do ... well something , as i said i have been left confused with this
Anyways looking forward to the next edition which will probably clear out my confusions
What a strange issue! The story arc was doing so well focusing on family and all of a sudden we have this weird bad guy? The story manages to stay interesting, but for the moment, the bad guy seems shoehorned in.
Lights out so far with this series.Highlighted with a confrontation between The Eradicator and The Man Of Steel.Caught in the middle is Supermans son Jon.
