Could barely put it down, so much keeping me on the edge of my seat as I read. Also glad that book 3 will be Zane!! Love having this much of an epilogue to Julian and Phoebe's story.

I was lucky enough to receive the first book in the series, Fame and Obsession, through a giveaway from the author on Facebook. If you read my review HERE, you'd know that I just loved it! I posted this second book in the series as my Can't Wait Wednesday post last week, and tagged the author in my post. Lucky me, I got an email from her asking if I wanted to review the second book early. Of course I said yes, and she sent it to me. I started reading it almost immediately, because I was so ready to find out where Julian and Phoebe's story would go next. I had actually assumed that it would be more like other rock star romance series books, where you get a different member of the band's story in each book. But Julian and Phoebe's story wasn't done. You see Phoebe was pregnant, and she and Julian were mostly happy together, but Phoebe's murderous father was still out there, and still looking for his daughter for revenge.

INCREDIBLE!! I’m not sure if that’s the word to use to describe Fame & Secrets. To say 5+++ doesn’t do justice to just how fantastic this book is. Fame & Secrets left me feeling emotionally exhausted from the crazy laugh-out-loud moments to the times that it felt like my heart was being ripped out with tears in my eyes. Ms. Kenborn is a magnificent author that when writing a story can pull you in and not let you go until you read the very last word in the book.

This is the continuation of Julian and Phoebe’s story from Fame and Obsession and it doesn’t miss a beat. Ms. Kenborn has done an exceptional job of mixing the fast paced lifestyle of a rock star with giving you a suspenseful thriller with a madman all within the same story. Julian and Phoebe have had many obstacles to conquer for their love story to succeed. They will have to learn how to deal with groupies, extended time away from each other, and learning to trust each other. Julian and Phoebe also have a very joyous moment come into their lives as well.

I can’t recommend this book and this series for that matter, highly enough. Be prepared for the rollercoaster ride that you will be on and the exhaustion you may feel at the end because this book was just too good to put down. The supporting characters in this book made some of the funniest banter I have read which only has you waiting on pins and needles for their stories to be told as well. This is most definitely a series you will want to follow.

Five Heart-stopping Stars*****
Book 2 of the Lords of Lyre Series revisits Phoebe, Julian and the band. After the traumatic events that occurred in Fame and Obsession (If you haven't read Book 1 - drop whatever you are doing and start reading) have them moving to Los Angeles, CA from NYC where they are supposed to begin their lives awaiting the birth of their child. While Julian is away on never ending press tours, Phoebe learns of a gruesome murder that hits too close to home and is oh so familiar. This story will have you on the edge of your seat, nail biting and at times wishing you can bash Julian over the head with one of his guitars, but Julian and Phoebe have such a unique relationship and that holds true in this book, their banter which I LOVED in book one is very prevalent, however when the danger gets real Julian comes through for the loves of his life. This story has some very funny moments thanks to Ryker Julian's younger brother, I can only hope that Cora Kenborn is quickly writing Books 3 and 4 and 5..........

OMG.....couldn't put it down. Can't wait for # 3!!!

Wow... this book takes you on a ride. It hooks you in and won't let go. I couldn't put it down because I was anticipating what was going to happen next. The love that is shared between them is the special unconditional love that is so rare. Loved how this book shows you that kind of love but also lets you see that mistakes are still made and that keeping that love strong isn't an easy task. Definitely a great conclusion to their love story!!

What a book! Brilliant, fascinating, captivating…. Cora Kenborn delivered it all along with some additional extras.

I loved this novel, Phoebe and Julian journey continues from Fame and Obsession ( Lord of Lyre Bk1), it kept me on the edge of my seat, it was filled with mystery, suspense, intrigue, murders and with Ryker from Lord of Lyre offering a helping hand literally!

This is an outstanding book – actually an outstanding Series. Cora Kenborn has done herself proud in my opinion and her reading fans, I am with anticipation waiting for her next novel, as I can not wait for that escape into her literary world.

Fame And Obsession was the fuse, Fame and Secrets is the bomb! The second installment in The Lords Of Lyre is the total package! Everything I want in a book! It has humor, ( love Ryker), suspense, heartbreak, and terror. It will make you laugh, make you angry, make you melt, and make you hold your breath as you go through tragedy with these characters. The writing is great, the story has great flow, and its a book that immerses you in their world. I highly recommend this book, this series! Can't wait for the next book!

OMG y'all gotta check this book out I can guarantee you it doesn't disappoint I mean c'mon 1: It's Cora Kenborn 2: It's Lords Of Lyre and last but not least 3: It's Julian need I say more? No didn't think so.

This book picks up where Fame and Obsession left off, at the start we're thrown right into the deep end where we hear from the POV of the stalker and we get a glimpse into the mind of Phoebe's father Daniel Dalton, he commits a horrible crime which sees Phoebes past meet up with her present. Julian and Phoebe are expecting their baby and while she's trying to settle into the California lifestyle he's off touring with the band when thanks to events of the past their lives end up being turned upside-down and their relationship torn apart. There are many twists and turns throughout the book and there's a whole range of emotions happiness, sadness, laughter and tears along with a whole load of angst. Can these two find their way back when their relationship spirals out of control? Or is it the end, how much pain and sorrow can they take? Read the book and find out I promise you won't be disappointed. I did laugh and I did cry, I didn't just read this book I lived it. Cora you wrecked me at points and yes I'll admit I may have wanted to cuntpunt you at times but I forgive you.

If you like a good Rockstar themed book then this is one of the best actually scrap that it's not one of the best it is the BEST. Bring on book 3, bring on my Zane I'm here patiently waiting.

Abso-freaking-lutely Amazing!!

I loved this second book in this series. I spent the first half of the book ticked off at Phoebe and then the second half being ticked off at Julian but dangit by the end I just freaking loved it.
Seriously readers need to check out this brilliantly written book. This series has sexy alpha rock stars, humor, intrigue, lots of angst, I cried dangit, and just an awesome storyline.
Can't wait for book #3.

You have no idea how happy I was when I asked to read this book before the release date. I was THRILLED. I may have a new favorite author. ❤ If you’ve read my review of the first book of this series, you may have figured out that I enjoyed the story a lot and that it got me invested so much I was up until late at night to keep reading because I couldn’t read during the day due to college. Well, if you want to know my opinion, this book is even better than Fame and Obsession! And you need to read that one if you want to follow the whole storyline and not be confused. Trust me, it’s really worth.

The book picks right where Fame and Obsession left off: Phoebe and Julian have moved from New York City to Los Angeles together, but things seem off. She is alone while he is on a tour with his band Lords of Lyre. They are both on edge after Julian’s stalker attempted to end Phoebe’s life and things get even scarier when her abusive and psychotic father starts sending them signals that he is going to make her life a living hell again.

I love how this book also opens with the POV of the stalker and we get a glimpse into Phoebe’s father, Daniel Dalton, as he commits a new crime that shakes her world even more. Not only she is a hormonal mess, she is also worried that the life she’s tried so hard to escape from, is catching up with her and that she and Julian can’t be truly happy. Phoebe’s father is able to make Julian borderline paranoid because of his obsession with her, and the rock star is not able to see clear and starts being a bit of a dickhead to his woman and his band mates, helping the relationship to be pushed to a precipice where it seems there is no point of return.

Fame and Secrets is even more dark than Fame and Obsession and we see Julian and Phoebe in a new light, and it isn’t all butterflies. After she hears on TV about a murder, Phoebe has a panic attack that sends her to the hospital and Julian runs to her with evident worry on his face but keeps his mouth shut about the secret investigations and bad guys he’s hired to keep his family safe. Secrets start brewing between the couple and it is never a good thing when that happens, because they start drifting apart. It also happens to Julian e Phoebe, who seem to realize that the person they fell in love with isn’t the one they met a couple of months before despite the flame and the love is still there. What they lack is the trust in each other, but they will build it as the story progresses. Trust is never earned easily and they need to pass through bad times to finally cement their relationship more.

The secrets are what leads our main couple to argue and have hate-sex. In another case I would be annoyed of the drama and the confrontations, but here the journey and the character improvement was the cherry on top. You have Phoebe who is a strong female character with balls that stands up for herself. She is a great character, has been through things another person wouldn’t have survived, yet she still stands and has the strength to go on. She is a rare find in romance novels, because most of the heroines of our time are either shallow or tend to always be under the thumb of a male. This isn’t the case with Phoebe who is admirable. Julian puts her through a lot of shit with a capital “S” but she still fights and in the end she is rewarded. She surely won’t be forgotten as a character.

On the other side, there is Julian. I love the cover because in my mind I have pictured him as the hot model with tattoos on the book. He is also a mess. After his friend Billy died in an accident, he spiraled down until he walked on the right path again. His encounter with Phoebe enlightened his life and made him appreciate life more. He is a family oriented man although he probably ignores it at first. And is that kind of man who wants to protect the woman he loves from external harm; he wants to be a man. In this book we see Julian’s self-destructive side. He tries to do what is in his power to catch Phoebe’s father and erase the danger in their lives, keeping her in the dark and hurting her feelings while he blames himself and the world. It was a fucked up downward spiral, but I’m impressed because it was awesome. He needed it and I enjoyed it. In the end it only improved him.

The angst was the master of this book. As a fan of deep dark feelings, I loved that it wasn’t all flowers and roses because entirely “good” characters are just flat and superficial, while a character with layers is a whole world to explore and to analyze. This was exactly how this book showed through Julian and Phoebe but also in the background characters of Ryker, Zane, Faith, Ty, Jaxon and Chloe that have unique personalities. You saw them start in a way and develop chapter after chapter and become new people, each one with a particular identity you can’t categorize nor stereotype. Especially Julian, like I have already said, was super irrational and said some hurtful things but realized his mistakes and he proved he is not any alpha male but more than that. It’s awesome how these characters have such a realistic way to bicker. Descriptions are great and engaging, but so it’s the dialogue. Julian and Phoebe bicker like no other and it’s entertaining to read them argue. They are not a cheesy couple – this I appreciated very much because I’m not a fan of those characters who express their love for each other in a sappy way. Their emotions were raw and authentic and I could feel them while I read. Read Julian talk to his band mates and brother was also very fun but the exchanges that made me laugh the most are the ones between Ryker and Phoebe. Through those dialogues it shows even more how they are not your classic characters: just because Ryker is Julian’s brother and Phoebe does have some difficulties with her man, they aren’t attracted to each other NOR start having a relationship and as a result a triangle is generated.

The main focus besides the angst, passion, paranoia, confusion, was also the mystery element. This is a romantic suspense book after all, so there needs to be something dark roaming in the shadows to keep the main characters on their toes; if they weren’t edgy enough already! Haha. In this second book there’s a great deal of suspense ever since the first pages, I had to take a breath every time something happened. Everything happened to our couple and I loved that! I loved that “life” in the book kept on reserving new things for them and some weren’t exactly as sweet, but this is the unpredictability of existence. There is never a dull moment in this book. The author managed to put together a story with not only complex characters but also a complex story which I am so sad it’s over. At least Phulian’s story, because there’s a third Lords of Lyre book coming in the future and it’s about Zane and Faith.

Sometimes, you need a touch of toxicity in your relationship to keep it alive, exciting....NEVER A DULL MOMENT....... EVER!! But every now and then you JUST want a little normalcy to lay back and relax and just be, enjoy the quiet life has to offer and bathe in the happiness that is your family...
Both of these statements are OH SO TRUE for Phoebe and Julian, but secrets and past demons threaten at every turn. They need to allow themselves to trust one another with the good AND the bad so they can conquer together, as a unit, as ONE!!
Phoebe KNEW life with a up and coming rock star wasn't going to be all smooth sailing, but when her father starts to show signs that she is in even more danger, she tries to figure out what to do alone..... Julian battles everyday with the guilt the he put Phoebe in at the hands of his stalker, now that he has been getting information about Phoebe's father lurking, he tries everything to keep her shielded from the truth....... WELL.... Let me tell you that as I was reading this book my kindle got an earful SEVERAL TIMES!! I yelled at all of the characters, but did they listen??? OF COURSE NOT!!! Because these two characters are the MOST stubborn people in the world, BUT.......They work. They fight hard but they love harder and will have you feeling every emotion that they are both going through while reading the entire story.
Cora Kenborn Take romance to another level with all of the angst and suspense, you never want to put it down or ever end!!
I am looking forward to reading about the other members of the Lords of Lyre and This story leads the perfect segue into the next couple in line!!! I absolutely LOVED it!!!

Fame & Secrets begins a few months after Fame & Obsession ended. Phoebe and Julian have moved to California from New York. While Julian is away on tour Phoebe is dealing with the monster from her past, her father Daniel Dalton. There are shocking twists and turns that keep you guessing and turning the pages wondering how the book will end. What an emotional roller-coaster!! I had to read this book twice before I could put it down…it was that good.

Cora Kenborn is a master at combining romance and suspense. This is a perfectly written book with the right amount of everything. There's drama, violence, hot sex, humor, heartache and a great love story. The characters are believable and well developed. Phoebe is a strong feisty heroine who Julian always tries to protect even though she doesn't think she needs him to. Julian is the rock star heart throb who can't live without Phoebe and is always worried about her and their unborn child. I loved all the other characters that floated in and out of the story. I really hope they get their own books especially Ryker and Zane. I highly recommend this book and this author to everyone. A definite one-click.

Love this book!! Oh my gosh, it was an emotional thrill ride. Cora Kenborn knows how to pull those feels from her readers. I know this book invoked all kinds of feelings from good to bad. At times I was yelling at Julian. I want to choke his neck at times.
Phoebe and Julian have one of those loves that can withstand anything. When Phoebes father Daniel Dalton comes after her and does so with a vengeance. He is a psycho on a mission but Julian has is own mission and that's to protect what's his.
There are certain things that is going to make you wonder what the hell could have possibly made the author think of something so sinister and twisted.
Cora Kenborn is amazing and is going to go so far. With her stellar talent for story telling and her relatable characters her career has no limits.
You will want to read this book more than once.. You will love this book!
Looking forward to reading Zanes story as well.

Holy shit! My head is still spinning... this was a rollercoaster of emotions like never before! As Julian and Phoebe fight like they've never fought before, Cora really makes you feel everything they do along the way! this book is flippin amazing!

Again, suspense and action but most, IMHO, wasn't believable. I am such a stickler for believability, so tell me to shove it if you aren't. I will give some leeway, but my limits were reached in this installment. I felt the author took too many "liberties" a few were:
1) heroes "legal" security team...WOW were they overpaid to not do a job. Sign me up!
2) the drop in (because they are mentioned but never show up) of the alleged outlaws watching Faith and Iris (Sons of Anarchy much?) and they, much like the other security team didn't help in any way.
3) her hospital delivery????? OMG, so much of that story line has the potential for litigation it isn't even funny!

The hero and heroines constant bickering was juvenile and amateur and frankly, I felt like I was reading the transcripts of MTV's Teen Mom, if I ever were to watch an episode.

I will end by saying the another installment of Lords of Lyre, Zane and Faith's story intrigues me. Drat!

EXTREME ROLLER COASTER OF EMOTIONS!!!

Fame and Secrets is the continuation of Julian Bale and Phoebe Ryan's story from Fame and Obsession. If you haven't read Fame and Obsession, YOU MUST READ IT NOW!

Phoebe and Julian got past the crazy stalker that he had in Obsession, now they are trying to start over in California. However, Julian is busy traveling for his band The Lords of Lyre and Phoebe (now pregnant) is trying to get them settled in and adjust to this new lifestyle. Now, someone from Phoebe's past is coming out of the shadows.

Okay, that is all I am going to say about the recap because I don't want to spoil anything. Now, with that said... HOLY CRAP! This was an AMAZING follow up. I could not put this book down. I wanted to throw my kindle out the window I don't know how many times. I Screamed at the characters, I cried, my heart broke with them, I laughed, I fell in love with all the characters all over again. I LIVE for books that cause me to react the way that I did.

To say that Ms. Kenborn is a talented writer is not enough. The way that she is able to grip you with the story, it's like you are watching this all play out right in front of you. The depth of her characters is astounding. She has a way of bringing all these characters to life, it is almost like you can reach out and just touch them. I wanted to hug them, I wanted to Punch a couple of them over and over, I wanted to just BE THERE for them as they went through everything... and this is a BOOK.

The writing is outstanding, the story flows so well (I again read this all in one day as I did with Fame and Obsession). There were times that my heart was beating so fast while things were happening (I am not going to spoil this), I know that I for one am hooked to Cora Kenborn. She is a natural and what I would consider an upcoming bestseller in the making.

Everything you're looking for in one book!

I read a lot and one of the things I have found is that a lot of books are way too formulaic. What sets this book apart is the depth and complexity of the story that keeps the reader hooked, wanting more, and reading all night long because you just can't put it down. This is fast paced fun, suspenseful, romantic chaos and mayhem that grabs you so hard, you feel like you are living the story. It's realism with a twist. The sarcastic, witty banter between all of the characters makes you love them, hate them, and then love them all over again. This book is bestseller material and as a second outing by up and coming writer Cora Kenborn, is a must read..

Darkly addictive read! Cora has done it again! This amazing author really knows how to give you a hot, pulse tripping romance suspense, with characters you can't stop thinking about. Things got decidedly darker for Julian and Phoebe in book 2 of this series, what they went through together, the evil that almost cost them everything, was too twisted for words! This book punched me repeatedly in the feels, and again I had that sense I was in a movie (which I absolutely loved!) This book has the wow factor.

We pick up after Julian and Pheobe move to LA having survived his stalker. But a new hell has found them and followed them. Can they all survive? I just could not put this book down. I laughed, I got really angry, I cried...it tugged at every emotion that I had. Cora Kenborn made these characters so real, that I was right in the story.

All of my favorite things wrapped up into one book, misunderstood sexy rocker guy with a heart of gold, the girl who has enough love for the both of them, crime, suspense, sexy FBI guys and more rockers....

If you think Fame and Obsession was a rollercoaster ride then you really need to read Fame and Secrets. We all thought Julian and Phoebe had the perfect fairytale ending until the monster from her past co as back with a vengeance.
This book doesn't let you settle in when you start reading it. It keeps on the edge of your from beginning to end. Cora Kenborn is a genius author and I'm ready for more!

Wow! What an emotional ride! I loved this book! Cora Kenborn you did an amazing job bringing out all those emotional feels. I was laughing, swooning, crying, frustrated and over the moon happy while reading this book. I really felt at certain parts of the book that my heart was being to be ripped out of me. Wow! What a rush!! I was hooked early on and I didn't want to put it down.
Fame and Secrets is the second book in the series. You will need to read Fame and Obsession first so you can get to know Julian Bale and Phoebe Ryan. Julian the famous hot rock star and Phoebe the writer have a whirlwind romance that is full of love but they had to over come some very terrifying obstacles.
Fame and Secrets continues with Julian and Phoebe moving from New York to California. They are very happy and very much in love. Julian and Phoebe are expecting their baby soon and are so excited. Phoebe is trying to adjust to the famous California life style while Julian is off on tour. Everything seems to be going well until Phoebe's horrifying past meets up with her present. Both Julian and Phoebe's lives turn upside down and no matter how hard Julian tries he can't keep his family safe. This story is filled with so many twist and turns you will be turning pages as fast as you can and hanging on for dear life. When Julian and Phoebe's worst nightmare happens it rips them apart and their relationship spirals out of control. Can they save each other and live happily or will their lives be filled with pain and sorrow? If you want a true romance that's full of action and drama then you need this series. I had the privilege of receiving an ARC of this amazing book. To say I was completely blown away with Fame and Secrets is an understatement!!! This book is just phenomenal and author Cora Kenborn truly outdid herself! This book was so emotionally charged and the depth of the characters blew me away. The storyline was so intense with emotions....from hot and steamy, to out right hilarious moments, to heart wrenching, frustrating, guilt ridden to overwhelming love.

First if you haven't read Fame and Obsession, now is the perfect time to do so before Fame and Secrets releases on March 14th. Fame and Secrets is the 2nd book in the much anticipated Lords of Lyre series. This book is a continuation of the epic story of Julian and Phoebe. Julians life is on the fast track, his band is one of the hottest and their rise to fame and stardom continues. I wanted to lighten the mood, but it seemed as if the sex that normally fixed us, suddenly broke us.

The unthinkable happens in their lives....that demon has entered their lives and completely shattered their world. How could this have happened? How do they find themselves, get back to what once was? How do they move forward and take back their lives? How do they pull out of the hell they have been thrust in? Those questions and MANY others are answered thru out this book. We find out how Julian and Phoebe fight to hold onto that strong bond, that overwhelming love...that pull that drew them to one another.

This book is just griping...it draws you in and you cannot stop reading. The emotional pull is just amazing and truly the work of a very talented author! I cannot wait to see where the next book in this series takes me!!!!

I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review. This book gave me all the feels. I feel in love with Phoebe and Julian in the first book, but in this book my heart broke for them and wasn't put back together until damn near the end. I can't even describe what this book did to me. I highly recommend this book, it is a beautiful story about a couple going through the worst time and coming out stronger.

Wow!!!! This is one of the best emotional roller coasters I've ridden in a long time! From the very first sentence all the way to the end I was completely hooked on every word. Cora Kenborn did a phenomenal job making these characters come to life and those plot lines are unforgettable!!!!! I will warn you though, you will need chill pills throughout this book. With that said, I loved every word in this book! I love great plot twists and this one is full of them, you never know when it's coming or what will happen. I was guessing to the very end!!! Great read!!!!

The part two of the series is quite a romantic and nice journey to read😌😌😌😌 the couple have been through a lot, like a lot like emotionally and physically a lot but in those journey they been through, I’M GLAD BOTH ARE STILL IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER AND BUILD WHATS BROKEN (because of the recent situation they became very distant and said it was broken some piece of them) THEY BUILD IT TOGETHER PIECE BY PIECES AND THEY HAVE THEIR HAPPINESS🤩🤩🤩🤩

OF COURSE WHEN THE SITUATION IS GOING ON, BOTH ARE VERY LOYAL TO EACH OTHER AND NEVER CHEAT!!!! HAPPY ENDING....

I give it 4 stars because of the unnecessary drama that was going on with the couple of blaming things that is not a big of deal and the heroine likes to keep things private when the hero repeatedly tells her to tell him everything. But overall this part two is amazing to read. I get to read a couple that even though they are mad at each other, they fight for their love and marriage because both know that they are the one for each other. So romantic! 😍

I was honored to have received an ARC of this & HOLY CRAP, I couldn't put it down!! If I could give Cora more than a 5 Star rating I would. This book continues the epic story of Phoebe and Julian and the Lords of Lyre. It is still hot and steamy the way we all love to see this amazing couple be but it also brings you to your knees, grabbing for kleenex as you try not to sob and still read on. This is a gut wrenching, heart breaking, story that you love to the end. Thank you to Cora for bring yet another amazing story, please don't ever stop!

I did read the first one but since I read 600 books a year I had forgotten the characters and why I rated that one so high compared to this one. Granted second books in a series can go either way...but I forgot why I liked Zane or why Phoebe and "Jagger" were even together because they fought so often that I did not see a connection, at all.

So I had to go low on how unromantic this book turned out. Over the top with all regards on the dad too. Geez.

So I'm done with this series.
