The bestselling author of Devil’s Honor returns with a deliciously sinful novel about a good girl who goes bad—and the notorious Louisiana biker who can’t resist the lure of forbidden fruit.

Holly Chambless is tired of being the squeaky clean daughter of Lagrange’s holier-than-thou mayor. When her father is charged with corruption, she realizes that her whole life’s been a lie. Now’s her chance to do all the things she never dared, like scoring a job at a bar where reputations go to die, or reconnecting with the biker who sparked a secret hunger in her all those years ago. Holly isn’t a wide-eyed girl anymore—and this time she wants a taste of what has always been denied.

Killian “Uptown” Chenier has no time for stuck-up princesses. He likes fast bikes and wild sex. Sure, he remembers Holly. He sent her running with a wicked smile and a lesson about prying eyes. And sure, she’s grown up smoking-hot, with a body he’d like to personally desecrate. But Devil’s Keepers business is real and intense. Her daddy stole from the club, leaving his pretty blonde daughter a walking target. And when Uptown takes aim at what he wants, he never misses.

"What would happen when he did put his hands on her? Would she survive it?"

Devil's Mark is the second book in The Devil's Keepers. The swamp town of Lagrange comes back to life with the boys of the Devil's Keepers MC back in action. When the Mayor of the town has plummetted himself into a web of corruption and his sweet princess Holly returns home Killian “Uptown” Chenier is one biker happy to take her on the ride of her life.

description

"Nothing modest about me. You want to hear who I fuck and how? I'm not shy, princess. But I think you are."
Uptown is one beautiful biker who never has a problem charming the ladies. He loves his brothers and loves the biker life which means living free and easy! When perfect princess Holly Chambless strolls into the Devil's Keepers bar looking for a job he sees an opportunity to gather intel for the club, find his personal revenge, and for a bonus he can have the pleasure of deflowering the "pretty princess."

description

"Holly. He felt drunk out of his mind, like he'd lost a week to a bottle of moonshine and had no intention of sobering up any time soon."
Holly is no stranger to the ways of bikers. Even though her life may appear to be perfect on the outside, the reality of her life is the opposite. When her old crush Uptown makes a claim to make Holly his, she is shaken to the core. Always the good girl, being with Uptown evokes just enough danger to turn her world upside down. Holly and Uptown share a delicate dance of coming together and pulling apart before they finally realize the depths of the feelings they share for each other. Despite their different worlds, they are utterly perfect for one another. They cling together to battle their demons, and as action in the club heats up, Uptown finds that protecting Holly and making her his is all he truly needs.

description

"He placed Holly in the center of his bed when he wanted to throw her down and beat her to the mattress..."
Told in dual POV, Devil's Mark was another fantastic addition to the Devil's Keepers Series. I found the relationship between Uptown and Holly to be quite tender and the steam factor was off the charts hot!!!! Holly is your typical "good girl" who falls for a bad boy and yet, she is strong willed and unashamed to go for what she wants. And she happens to want Uptown! The supporting characters were heavily involved in the plot regarding the club business, but the main focus was the relationship between Holly and Uptown. The text is cleverly crafted with plenty of humor and southern charm and the depth of Uptown's story certainly tugged at my heart strings. The narrative is quite heavy with the description which I adore! Every moment is so clearly described that it feels as if the pages come to life! The club business is still a bit of a mystery as there is turmoil in the MC so no doubt the next installment will bring more action and romance to explore! I am so ready for more!!!!

description

Overall, Devil's Mark is a must read for MC Romance fans! The characters are smart and sexy, and the story arc flows fluidly throughout the read. Uptown is by far the stand-out character for me in this one! All I can say is YUM!!!!! I am quite excited about what is to come with the Devil's Keepers. When Ms. Crane is writing, my Kindle and I are waiting.

Holly Chambless life is in ruins. Her father the Mayor is going down for corruption and her mother has been in a drug-induced haze for as long as Holly can remember. When her best friend tells her there is a job opening at the local biker bar, Holly is all set to leave her squeaky-clean image behind.

Killian “Uptown” Chenier has no time for the stuck-up daughter of the man who screwed the Devil’s Keepers. He likes it fast and wild and forgettable. So why can't he get the naive princess out of his head?

description

So this one was just OK for me. Both the hero/heroine spend WAY too much time talking in their heads and because of that, I had a hard time getting into it, to be honest. There also wasn't really a single likable character in the book. Holly was described like some bobble headed Disney princess idiot and Uptown was nasty.

I don't expect MC guys to be angels farting rainbows, but I do expect to at least find something likable with my hero. This guy was just kind of a disgusting and needed a bleach bath just to make him halfway decent. In fact, the whole entirety of the club was a bunch of nasty gross assholes, as were the old ladies.

When Holly's best friend tells her what she had to do JUST to be a bartender and get tips...well I threw up a little in my mouth. and according to Uptown, they took it easy on her because they LIKED her the other women had is worse.

Like I said, I don't expect unicorns farting rainbows, but geez this is a series and because of that I need to at least somewhat think these dudes have some sort of morals. In any case, like I said it was just OK. I doubt I'll continue on with the series.

ARC from NetGalley for honest review.

Holly is a "princess", a good girl who always tired to make her Father, the Mayor of Lagrange, happy. But Holly finds out that her father has been arrested and that he's a corrupt Mayer. Holly is devastated to learn everything she thought and has been told is a lie. Well Holly is done being a good girl and decides that now going to have some fun.

She heads to the biker bar and meets Uptown, someone that she has always been aware of but stayed away from. Uptown is sensing that there is trouble bubbling in the biker world and that Holly's Father is involved. Uptown has always been cognizant of Holly but steered clear as of her, for her own good as well as his own.

Holly decides her fun times are going to be with Uptown. And Uptown realizes that she needs protecting from the trouble that is brewing due to her Father.

These two together made sparks fly. They had great dialogue and gave as good as they got from each other. Holly was a strong heroine that held her own and Uptown was alpha with a capital A. There was a lot of dirty talk (a bit much for me) from Uptown. The chemistry was good and a lot of sexy times (again a bit much for me).

This was well written with great pacing. Found no lag time in the story line. There was some mystery and suspense thrown into the mix as well. Multi layered characters, as well as good secondary characters.

This book took forever and then it ended and fast forwarded so quick I didn't know what hit me.

The characters were interesting but I didn't seem to be able to get into them. Uptown was blah and really didn't light up my fire. Holly just seemed naive and clueless. Holly would let everyone treat her like crap and then just go along with it.

The story fast forwarded everything. They had sex once then were married with a kid. There was a storm brewing in the MC, but there was no answers just a fast forward 2 years.

Blah...it was just blah.

Received an ARC from The publisher through NetGalley.

Not what I've come to expect from this author and the previous two books I read. Very disappointed in the slow, boring build and then the super rushed ending. Way too much navel gazing in this book, and I can normally deal with quite a lot of it. Extremely little dialogue/conversation. I'm hoping the next book will be much more in line with the previous two I read, and that this won't be her new normal.

This book was not it.
It was definitely worse than the first book.
At least the first book was still entertaining and has a plotline.

The second book of the series was just lots of sexual tension.
The plot line was too slow and the two characters was definitely dancing around each other for something to happen.

It annoys me how Holly just takes shit that is happening to her.
Which I kind of get it she is the good girl into a bad boy's world but it gets too much.
Uptown wasn't that exciting or anything.
He is just a bad boy who is got with his charms on women, that's it.

The plotline was slow and it ended abruptly. like okay???

3.5 stars. The story was good but I would say that Killian was just not my kind of guy. His fellow club members didn’t really show much that felt redeeming. Still it was entertaining.

The Devil’s Keeper series by Megan Crane is a sexy, gritty edged motorcycle club series that is set in sultry, seedy Louisiana. Like any MC series, it’s got its fair share of violence and sex and there’s no mistaking that morals and ethics are generally of the less favorable variety. But loyalty to the club and to fellow members is a creed all live and die for, and betrayal of that loyalty can result in a fate worse than death.

When the Mayor of Lagrange gets caught in some dirty dealings with the club, it comes as a shock to his squeaky clean daughter Holly Chambless. Always told to stay away from anything to do with the Devil’s Keepers, all bets are off now that her father has been exposed. Holly wants to know what she’s been missing, ever since catching Killian ‘Uptown’ Chenier with his pants down, literally, in the church graveyard when she was sixteen. Now she’s twenty-two, and figures her best bet to find out what all the fuss is about is to get a bartending job at the biker club Dumb Gators, where her old school friend Katelyn works. What she doesn’t realize is that her daddy’s debts have come due, and if Killian has his way, she’ll be the one paying. Only, Killian doesn’t bank on the chemistry between them turning into something more.

I have to give it to Holly for holding strong and true in this story. She’s lived a sheltered life, rumors of the MC club and its dealing never getting more than a blip on her radar until she finds that her father, a man she idolized, has feet of clay after all. In fact, the more she discovers, the worse it gets. It’s a rough and rude awakening for her, finding out secrets about her parents that she never expected. Killian finds himself becoming very possessive of Holly in a very short time but also comes to admire and respect her. They have a slow burn romance, not really getting into the steamy scenes until later in the story but it’s worth the wait. I really liked the two of them together and how Holly brings out the best in Killian. It’s a pretty hard-edged story, not overly suspenseful but raw and with enough tension to keep you turning the pages. Something is going on with the club, something bad involving its president. It was alluded to in the first story, Devil’s Honor, and continues to be part of the story arc of the series. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out! I’m looking forward to reading more about the Devil’s Keepers.

The good girl and the bad boy. The rich girl and the boy from the wrong side of town. The virgin princess and the outlaw. Two people from very different backgrounds, with nothing in common, or so it seems. With the sultry and mysterious bayou as a backdrop, spicy-hot passion will breach every barrier between these two.

Holly Chambless is the pampered and indulged princess of Lagrange who seems to be above all the dark and seedy going-ons in the small town her father is mayor of. That is until he gets arrested for corruption and her carefully constructed life comes tumbling down, revealed for the lie it was. No longer obliged to play the role she's been stuck with all her life, Holly is determined to live for herself and what other way can she get rid of her good-girl image than by working at the local biker bar?

With the pompous and backstabbing mayor brought low, Holly is now fair game for all the lowlifes and scumbags, if they can get through Killian “Uptown” Chenier. From the first moment she walked through the doors of their hangout, he staked his claim as the one to take the stuck-up princess for a ride on the wild side. But for some reason, he can't seem to close that deal and for a man who loves his women in large quantities and easily forgettable, he can't get it up for any other woman nor can he get her out of his mind.

Holly initially came across as an air-headed debutante, but she was not exactly that. She was sheltered and innocent, but she wasn't clueless about the kind of man her father was, even if she pretended not to know. She was a sweet southern girl, easy to like, with a well-hidden wild streak that only Uptown seemed to bring to life.

Uptown was a bad boy in every sense of the word. Or should I say nasty? He reveled in his lifestyle and its excesses, but he also had an ax to grind with the mayor and what better way than to defile his daughter and her priceless virtue? By the way, that virtue was the most talked about thing in this town and the value placed on it by all and sundry was ludicrous. What year are we in again? Just checking.

Like I said, Ms. Crane knows how to bring the heat. The chemistry between Holly and Uptown was hot! I like that she held her own so well with Uptown and didn't pretend with him about her needs.

The club drama is revving up and all the revelations in this book have me wildly speculating on the future of the club and I'm so eager for the next book, so I can get more on that. I enjoyed reading DEVIL'S MARK which was surprisingly sweet in some places and would definitely recommend the series as a whole, but if you like your characters to color within the lines and be good, then this is definitely not the series for you.

3.5 Stars - 3 Flames

I was a little hesitant in picking up this book. Not because I didn't like the cover (HELLO) and not because it didn't sound interesting. I was hesitant because I remembered that I didn't exactly love the first one. But I'm happy I picked this up. I enjoyed this more than the first by far and this can be read as a stand alone, so yay!!!

Holly is the Mayor's daughter. Ok, she's more than that. She's a princess who went away to college, got a degree and is now back home following the news that her father is actually a crook. Not knowing who to trust, she realizes that she probably needs to make some of her own money considering the money she thought was hers may not even exist thanks to her dad. While waiting for her "job interview" at the filthiest bar in town (also THE bar for the MC's), she runs in to the one biker that changes everything.

Uptown is the "pretty boy". He always has a smile and knows how to charm anything from anyone. But seeing the one girl who got under his skin all those years ago in the bar that she shouldn't be in is causing him to think with the wrong head. And that's not all. She's the daughter of the man who is at the center of his clubs financial issues. This can't be good. But when has Uptown ever been good?

I have to admit that the story line is WAY better this time around than with the first installment.. I was actually interested in knowing how Holly was going to deal with the "daddy" issues (quite well actually). I was even more impressed with the sex scene. I think that the build up helped pull everything together, which only added to the moment. Well done. The only issue I have with this one is the ending. Not the climax ending, the wrapping everything up ending. We just skip ahead two years. TWO YEARS!!! And there's supposed to be another one? Does that start when the climax ended or after the two years? I guess we'll find out...

Holly Chambless is the daughter of the Mayor of Lagrange. She is the virgin princess who everyone looks at from a far but is off limits. After her father’s fall from grace, she decides to live her life on the wild side. She shows up at the biker bar one night asking for a job but instead she has a run-in with Killian “Uptown” Chenier.

There is a past connection between Holly’s father and Killian’s family. He is seeking revenge for some of the crappy stuff that went down. While I can enjoy a good revenge to lovers plot, I wasn’t feeling how this one went down. Killian struggles with his emotions for Holly and he need to use her as a pawn in her family’s games. While he was crude and sometimes borderline disrespectful, my gripe stems with Holly.

I know that Holly has grown up sheltered. She is proper and very naive. However, she takes that too far. Everyone is allowed to talk badly to her. They treat her like crap and she is a pushover. She slightly speaks back at times but she still allows the same people to continue on with the abusive behavior.

I wished she would have stood her ground with her so-called best friend (I wanted to slap that chick!) and Killian. So why didn’t the revenge to lovers trope work with me? Well during their first time together, he says:

“You okay with this?” he demanded, gruff and a little too edgy. “You don’t mind paying for your daddy’s sins on your back?”

Whoa! Wait! That took me right out of the moment. This is her first time ever with a man. One that she is falling in love with. While they are about to get it on, he says that? Smooth. Real smooth, Casanova! Yes, he says it because he is struggling with his feelings towards her and he wants to keep her at a distance. Yes, he is a big bad biker and romance is not what he does. Holly is even smart to realize that but talk about a mood killer! Those types of comments really made it hard for to like the hero. Holly’s meek behavior grated on my nerves.

I just wish the characters became more developed. The book has a slow start and immediately after they have sex, it kicks up too fast and it is over. We do get a complete ending and see a bit into Holly and Killian’s future. The story could have been fleshed out a bit more. There were dynamics with Holly’s relationships with her family that didn’t full work itself out.

The one aspect that I did find interesting is the club’s business. Some serious dirt is going on. The club is being divided. We don’t know who is a traitor. Where is Digger always disappearing to? I believe we might learn more in the next book. I look forward to reading the next book.

*Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review*

Devil's Mark started out really strong for me and then went downhill fast. I was highly intrigued with Uptown's character from the first book and Holly seemed pretty interesting as well. This rich girl that has been uprooted from her life of privilege who falls in love with a gorgeous and dangerous biker, but the story was so riddled with Holly's inner monologue that I think it ruined it for me. There were literally pages and pages of Holly thinking about something and never actually communicating with Uptown. I honestly don't understand how they fell in love since they never really talked to one another! They had like 2 or 3 scenes together in the course of couple days and THAT'S IT!

Holly was a too bit weird and I didn't get how she was OK that Uptown was using her and being downright insulting to her for most of the book. The revelations she faced with her family were HUGE and it didn't even seem to faze her. This book also felt rushed to me, I couldn't believe I was at like 90% and nothing was getting resolved and then BOOM it was finished. There was an epilogue but it felt incomplete as well.

One pet peeve I've had with this book and the one before is how do these guys get their road names? The females never ask and it's never explained. Just something I think is strange and would like to know.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be reading more of this series, I was not impressed enough by this one to continue any further.

DNF.

As I was reading this book, I realized what my personal issue was with it: there was way - and I do mean way - too much interior monologue in it. The author would start a dialogue - well, maybe one character got to say a sentence and that's it - and she'd delve into that character's mind. And stay there for a few pages.

No, I'm not kidding. We'd get maybe two dialogues in five pages. I, personally, prefer dialogue to monologue. Characters connect that way, they communicate. Being inside one character's mind for a long time bores me. Especially when that character comes up with so many questions.

I'm going to be honest here, I just don't care. That slows down the plot. That makes a less than 200 pages-long book seem like 400 pages. I somehow made it to half of it, but all that time, I had the feeling I read more than that.

So, many things really didn't happen, from the half that I read. I got bored and decided this author, with the many, many interior monologues she loves to write into her stories, is not for me.

Let's not get started on the characters. She was frustratingly stupid, he was... I don't really know what to call him because he really didn't make any sort of impact on me.

Given that it's a DNF, my rating is 2 stars. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book through Netgalley. And this is where I part ways with the author and series.

Killian aka Uptown can be an *** at times, a sexy ***, but an *** all the same, “I haven’t touched another woman since you walked into Dumb Gator’s that first night,” he told her, his voice low and something a lot like pi***d. “You want to put a collar around my ***k?” I really loved this book, Killian was rough around the edges but when it came to Holly that man was a goner.

This is the second book in the Devil's Keepers series but can be read as a stand alone. This book centers on Holly and Uptown. She is the corrupt Mayor's daughter and he is a member of the DKMCs. This book was actually much better than the first one as Uptown was more likeable and their relationship was more realistic to me as he treated her better than his nature demanded. He is another hot alpha male who meets his match in a naïve young girl. The ending was a little rushed but I loved the epilogue and the direction of their future HEA. She was a little weird in her actions and reactions but it worked in the story. Look forward to more in the series.

An advance reading copy of Devil's Mark by Megan Crane provided to me via NetGalley/publisher in exchange for an honest review.

After reading book one, Devil's Honor, I knew I had to read the next book in this series. This author has a writing style that takes me deep into the vivid scenes she writes and makes me feel like I'm part of the cast of characters in the story. Again the author takes me deep into the Louisiana countryside and creates a vivid backdrop of scenery and culture as well as characters who fit the mold so well. Killian and Holly aren't really strangers, but they don't know each other. He knows she's the spoiled princess daughter of the corrupt mayor of the small town. She's been pampered, cosseted and primed to marry money and further her father's agenda. Killian is the town's bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. He grew up with the mayor treating Killian and his mother like white trash. So, yes, he harbors a lot of hate against the man who treated him so badly as well as abusing his mother.
Holly returns to town after four years of college. She faces the fact that her father has been arrested and jailed. Her perfect life has crashed and all she thought was true is now false. To strike back at her father, she goes to the biker bar to get a job as a waitress. Killian sees his chance for revenge against the mayor and his prissy, better than anyone else daughter. He lives to bed her, degrade her and then walk off. That never comes to fruition. Sometimes revenge is a double edged sword and Killian suffers that edge.
If you love biker/MC romance or just love a deep romance with lots of hotness in it, this is the book for you. Killian, while hot as fire and capable of burning the sheets up, also is a sweet, tender lover. He and Holly make a perfect pair.
This book could be read as a standalone but it would help to read the first book in the series, Devil's Honor to get the background. I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to the next one in the series. I can't wait to go back to LaGrange and catch up on the Devil's Keepers MC and the interesting cast of characters who make these stories so good.

Opposites do attract. Who would have thought that dirty biker and resident good looking bad boy, Uptown, would have any kind of draw to the mayor’s beautiful, virginal daughter, Holly?! Holly just came back to town after graduating college to the only home and life she had ever known. She was the upstanding and innocent daughter of Mayor Benny and didn’t have of a clue as to what was actually happening not only in her hometown but in her own home as well.

Benny betrayed the Devil’s Keepers MC and he was about to pay for double-crossing the MC. Uptown was the man for the job as to make Benny pay for his missteps. What better way to do this than by taking Holly for a little walk on the wild side and getting her biker dirty! Holly knew all about Uptown since she had spied him getting down and dirty with some girl in a cemetery a few years ago and then dreaming about Uptown taking her. Holly may be an innocent girl and a virgin but she knew that Uptown would be the man she wanted to lose everything to.

Because of his upbringing and all the dirt he knew on Benny from when he was a boy the MC became the perfect fit for him. Also because of this he knew that he was never going to get tied down to one girl and live the happily-ever-after life that he knew was all of bunch of sh*t. The only person he knew of that believed the fairy tale was Holly. What better way to make Benny pay for double-crossing the club and he was just the man for the job. But the club had other things happening within but there was no proof that club president, Digger was dirty.

This was a fast, dirty, and sexy read that kept you guessing just where everything was going to turn. Would Uptown end up breaking that dream that Holly had of them and would Uptown take the father that Holly had always looked up to and followed all of his rules to a tee? This is the second book in this series that I have read and loved it just as much as the first and I can’t wait to see where Ms. Crane is going to take us with the next book in this series. These bikers are mean and hot as h*ll with their club possibly crumbling from the inside. Are they going to be able to save their club and their women as well?

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley for a freely given honest review.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the second in the series - and I would recommend that you read book one first as there is an ongoing plot running through the story, even though this is another DKMC brother finding unexpected romance.

Holly has been living her life to please her father, as her mother lives in a fog of prescription drugs. However he has now been arrested and his shine has come off. Sadly as the story progresses it comes off even more, as Holly makes some very unwelcome discoveries. As a 23 yr old who has led a 'perfect, pure' life, all these revelations throw her ordered world into chaos. When she decides to go for a job in the biker bar, she is definitely pushing on boundaries!

Uptown still remembers being seen by Holly when she was just 16, and even though he hates her father, she gets his protection. As the reader, we get to experience the confusion and uncertainty that both these people feel as their feelings get in the way of good sense and expectation. I loved her innocent sassiness, his indulgent anger, their inability to resist each others' charms. No need for the Bayou to heat up the pages, these two do the job themselves.

Add in the danger of the biker club which has some serious problems brewing, and this makes for a really good read. I am looking forward to a third installment.

Holly is the virgin daughter of the town's mayor,as her father is arrested for corruption she flips the good girl script and starts working in a biker bar. While Holly as a good girl her whole life did not closely associate with bikers,at sixteen she had previously come across Uptown having sex with a groupie and he had been his crude self so she ran away. We met Uptown in book 1 with a woman on his face and 1 on his d**k. I was prepared to be unimpressed. However Uptown never looked at another woman from the moment Holly started working in the bar.I wanted to cheer 😂. The relationship is built slowly as we also see the further unravelling of the mc, Holly learns some harsh truths about her dad and big, bad, manwhore biker Uptown tumbles into love with the town princess
Holly was incredibly naive and sunny but I found her surprisingly endearing. Even finding out the worst about her family, even Uptown being an idiot didnt dull her shine.
Holly was kidnapped by the mc President's son but she was rescued early by Uptown and the guys.
Uptown and Holly stay together and we get an epilogue 2 years out with him having closure with her dad and putting the hatred that he had for him behind his back and moving on with his wife Holly and their Daughter.#swoon
My only problems were that at one point Uptown mentioned thar he should've had sex with Holly when she was jailbait and big bad biker or no that's definitely a no from me, I also found this very wordy in terms of description and scene setting but not enough between the main couple nevertheless a Loyal badass biker is my drug and I'm a willing and very satisfied junkie. I call this one a win!

Wow! The momentum begun in book one of this series was maintained throughout book two and left me hungering for book three. Can’t wait to find out who will have their story told next.

Holly Chambless has always been a “good girl” doing her best to live up to the expectations of her demanding father. When her father, the mayor, is picked up by the police for a number of felonies she is bent on making changes in her life as a wee bit of rebellion. So one evening she stops by a notorious biker bar to begin her makeover not realizing just where that first step will ultimately lead her. Killian “Uptown” Chenier, member of the Devil’s Keeper MC, finds himself drawn to Holly for a number of reasons but the main one is to get revenge against her father. Little does he realize that his first encounter with Holly in Dumb Gator bar will change his life forever.

I loved the characters, the story and the way this book ended. The dialogue, unfolding backstories and surprises that cropped up were well plotted and appeared at just the right moment. Holly and Uptown were so well matched and their love story so delicious that I could not put this book down once I began reading.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House publishing Group – Loveswept for the copy of this book. This is my honest review.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Little Holly Chambless' world is falling apart. With her father in jail on corruption charges, her mother hidden in bedroom with all of her pills, she has no choice but to try to find her way in life. She's going to start by getting rid of the nice girl image she's had to portray all of her life. Gone are the reasons she had let her father mold her into the perfect trophy wife.

Watching Holly walk into Dumb Gators was something that Killian aka "Uptown" thought he'd never see. She was still as beautiful as the day she surprised him and groupie getting it on the cemetery and just as innocent. Letting her actually work at there might be the stupidest thing he ever did.

This installment in the Devil's Keeper series moves the entire story forward but it seemed like there was a few scenes missing at times. I would have loved to know more about how/why her father was initially jailed, how he go out, more about what Whale is/was up to, etc.

Overall a good read, one that I stayed up late to finish.

Holly Chambless has forever been the good girl, the town princess. But now that her father has destroyed the image that she had of him as the Mayor, she is beginning to open her eyes, remove the wool that he's always been able to pull over them. And the reality that she's facing in not in the least easy for her to digest.

Killian “Uptown” Chenier has been the star of all her fantasies and now that she's finally decided to grab hold of life by the horns, there he is standing in her way all up in her face and staking his claim on her. He knows she's not cut out to be a biker bunny and she thinks that's exactly what she is going to end up as if she gives in to Uptown. But he wants revenge for what her father did to his mother and so does she. She's beginning to realize that Uptown may just be the perfect solution but there are other enemies making plans of their own and this game is getting dangerous for both of them. Now her heart is at risk just as much as her life is.

Uptown has call the club his home since he was able. Trying to stay away from his drugged out mother since he can't get her clean. He has a man who needs to pay for that in his sights.

Holly, the perfect Mayor's daughter is now aware of how dirty her daddy was and is becoming more aware by the second. She met Uptown when she was sixteen when she caught him having sex in a very unusual place.

Uptown has decided to take interest in Holly since she finally walked into the local biker bar and then the club and he decided to use her for revenge purposes. He just didn't count on her being so naive.

Uptown and Holly have something in common now, the demise of both of their mothers. They just don't realize it quite yet.

The one thing Uptown hasn't done though is lie to Holly and for that she can deal with the mass of things that aren't perfect about him. But he seems perfect to her.

This is the second book in the Devil's Keepers series and it did not disappoint! I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Uptown and Holly. Uptown has a difficult past that helped turn him into the mysterious, bad boy biker with the panty melting smile. Holly is the perfect daughter of the Mayor, although it turns out there are a lot of secrets in the Mayor's plantation house. Their journey together is an intricate one and I liked learning about both of them.
This MC romance has HOT bikers, romance, smoking hot sex scenes, danger, and suspense. A great combination! Reading about the dealings of the Devil's Keepers Motorcycle club has me wanting to know more and see where these men and women will end up, what will be next? I can't wait to find out!

I have to start by saying that I am a big fan of Motorcycle Club books, especially when they are part of the bad boy / good girl trope which is exactly what this story is about.

Devil's Mark is the second book in the Devil's Keeper Series, the first book Devil's Honor followed Merritt and Greeley's relationship which was an enjoyable read, but, I really am looking forward to the third book, Devil's Own, which is Chaser's story, and he gets involved with his daughters teacher!!!

Neither of these two main characters appealed to me in this story. The heroine in this book feels immature and seems like she is just rebelling against the image she has to the town and to her father. The hero is a jerk and is all about getting in her pants. I really did not like him. I actually did not care for either lead in this book. This story never really got started for me. I did not fall into this story. This was not the book for me.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
