Fit for Love

Rate this book
Fitness Trainer. Bartender. Fake fiancé.

I didn't plan to fall for her. One minute I'm kissing a stranger on New Year's Eve and the next I'm engaged. It's only a misunderstanding, but I'll take advantage of this unexpected gift. A convenient fake engagement is just what the doctor ordered for my dying grandmother.

Songwriter Makenna Ross is the hottest woman I've ever met, and she's been strumming at my heartstrings from our very first kiss. And her little boy? He's stolen my affection, too.

When Makenna's ex-boyfriend hears of our engagement, the lie grows bigger. Bolder. Realer. Yeah, yeah. I majored in physiology, not English.

There's something she's not telling me. The harder I chase, the faster she runs. She's perfect for me, if she'll let her guard down and let go of her past.

This is my chance to have everything I ever wanted.

I'm Aiden Alesini, and I'll do whatever it takes to win her love.

2.5 stars.

This book has insta-lurvvvvv. And it's not even cute. It's rushed and annoying and the relationship between the characters was so FUCKING ANNOYING.

*hot boy sees cute girl*
*mmm hot boy want some smoochie smoochie*
Some dude on the speaker: find someone to kiss in 10, 9, 8 and blah blah blah
*hot boy kisses girl*
Hot boy: gimme your number pls I'm desperate. thx.
Girl: nuh uh boy you ain't gettin' this bootylicious ass. (Idek what the fuck that was pls don't ask thanks.)
*idk what happens*
*girl punches hot boy in the eye*
*hot boy likey and grandma is dying (?)*
Hot boy: I AM HURT. MY EYE. I CANT DRIVE.
girl: I'LL DRIVE BC IT WAS MY FAULT YOUR EYE IS HURTING
Dying grandma: OOOO YOU FINALLY FOUND A PRETTY WIFE. MY DYING WISH IS GRANTED!
*grandma miraculously gets better*
Hot boy to girl: oh now you just HAVE to be my fiancé otherwise my grandma might die or some shit.
Girl: ugh fine but I have a son??
*hot boy is secretly half in love already or something*

And the shittyness continues with a jealous ex and some bullshit and more petty annoying unnecessary drama.

All it takes is one sweet old lady laying on her deathbed and somehow Makenna finds herself newly engaged. How the heck does this even happen? But soon she discovers that she is falling for this guy she barely knows. And Aiden feels the same. Will Makenna's past and her present keep the two from finding a future that is obviously meant to be?

Once again, Berry creates a story that pulled me in from the start and had me immediately falling in love with Aiden and Makenna. Their story is sweet and unique, but Makenna's past keeps jumping in the way. She really does try to get over the guilt that she has carried for so long to see if this will work between the two of them and Aiden does all he can to break down her walls. He is one of the good guys and you hate to see him lose out on something that could be absolutely amazing.

Berry is one of those authors that I am so very glad I found. I think it started with a signing but ended with me becoming totally infatuated with her books and writing. I cannot get enough of her words and the characters she writes about. Never have I read one of her books and thought it to be a waste of my time. I absolutely inhale them.

Sexy, swoony and utterly brilliant…this book has everything. A plot that pulled at me when I wasn’t reading, romance that made my heart flutter, and characters that became fast friends. 5 Stars!!

This story was breathtaking. You immediately fall in love with the characters. From McKenna to Aiden, even the cocky "baby daddy". You couldn't stop reading. I highly recommend!

This was a sweet story, but the MCs needed some more development and the plot was a little too cliche. I don't mind cliches, as long as they're well written, but the writing in this one was just mediocre. There was a whole lot of telling and not enough showing. This book also lacked the witty banter and funny inner monologue of the first book The Beauty of Lies. It had the same uncompelling insta-love of the second book of the series The Fiction of Forever that failed to draw me in due to its lack of substance.

There were parts of this book that I enjoyed. I liked the scenes with the MCs from the previous two books. I also liked the H. He was pretty stellar in the sense that he didn't give up on the h. Why he didn't, I don't know...but he didn't just go and hook up with someone else the moment the h pushed him away. He wasn't a manwhore and treated the h and her son well. Unfortunately, the H is about all I liked in this book. The h was crazy with her hang ups, how she kept trying to push the H away. Then there was the OTT vindictive and evil ex and some crazy out of the blue drama thrown in as a last ditch effort by the author to keep us on our toes.

After finishing this series, I would have just stopped with book one. This author is good at building interest in the first few pages, but the stories started fizzling out earlier and earlier with each book.

Fit For Love by Brinda Berry is book 3 in the Stand By Me series. This book can be read as a stand alone even though it is part of a series. Makenna Ross is a talented song writer. Not only does she write hit songs she is beautiful and is just a good person. She meets Aiden Alesini at a bar one night and when she accidentally punches his lights out they become super connected. A fake engagement transpires when Aidan's grandmother ends up sick and basically on her deathbed. In order to keep her calm and not upset her they both go along with it. So thus begins the relationship between the two of them. They both seem to have some aversion to committing and Makenna has a lot of
Demons she has to work through. Aiden knows something is up because Makenna has a tendency to run away or think Aiden is going to leave anytime something gets rough. Makenna has a son named Ryder and Aiden ends up being crazy about both of them. So much so he's willing to take on Makenna's ex. Her ex is a famous singer and let's just say not very nice. I can say with all honesty I was rooting for Aiden and Makenna from the beginning. They were adorable together and I really enjoyed reading about them. I really enjoyed Nonna too. I found her to be funny! I felt like the writing was good and that the characters were well liked and developed. I hope that there end up being more in this series! I really enjoy reading them! 4 star rating!

this was a fun and sweet journey.

Although it deal with several deep issues - I came away light and happy from the story.

Makenna is a single mom, song writer, loyal daughter who works hard to provide a loving and stable home for Ryder, her 3 yr old son. She has a bit of go in the past - but is enjoying her life now.

Aiden is single guy enjoying playing the field and his job as a personal trainer and spending time with friends.

On New Year's eve these two meet eyes and end up sharing a kiss - that neither can forget.

My two favorite characters were Ryder - how could you not love the "big guy" & Nonna - I want to be just like her when I'm 80ish! Of course the MCs were great too - they really were a perfect fit for each other - Love the HEA!

I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this Advance Reader Copy and was not compensated in any way.

Aiden loves his Nonna. Aiden is also a fitness trainer. PERFECT combination.

MaKenna is a gifted songwriter who has a twenty foot wall around her heart.

But only Aiden is strong enough and sweet enough to scale her wall and then begin tearing it down.

You seriously don't want to miss this romance. This one is swoon worthy.

I really enjoyed this book. I have not read a book from this author before, but I can guarantee that this will not be my last book to read by Brinda. It was well written, flowed together nicely, very believable, and easy to read. It was also sexy and smoking hot, which is always a plus.

Fit For Love is the third book in the Stand By Me series by Brinda Berry. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this wonderful book. It is the second book of Ms. Berry’s that I have read so far, and I have really loved each one.
Makenna Ross (Mak) is a really talented and successful songwriter- she is also a single mother and is determined to do the best she can, for her 3 year old son Ryder. Tragedy marred her childhood and the trauma of it has haunted her ever since. Her experience has had such a lasting effect that Makenna won’t allow herself to get attached to anyone, except her son and her mother. She has built up pretty solid defences around her heart. It’s going to take someone special to break through them!
Aiden Alesini is single, twenty-four years old and works as a personal trainer in a gym, and also does some part time bar tending. He dreams of opening his own Gym one day and is saving as much as he can to put towards achieving his goal.
On New Year’s Eve Aiden is working at his friends bar, when he notices the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. She had an ethereal, almost other worldly quality about her, with stunning red hair, green eyes and porcelain skin. She and Aiden end up sharing a sizzling, knee trembling kiss to welcome in the New Year, both are left reeling from the powerful chemistry that surges between them. Suddenly, a bar fight breaks out and Aiden rushes to her aid, but ends up getting socked in the eye in the process and receives a nasty gash.
Makenna offers to patch him up and then drive him home. Along the way, Aiden gets a call to let him know his beloved Grandmother has been rushed to hospital after suffering a heart attack. They hurry to the hospital and Makenna accompanies him inside, as she doesn’t want him to be alone if something bad has happened.
Once inside, his Grandmother mistakes Makenna as Aiden’s Fiancée and is so happy that he has finally found someone to share his life with, that neither Aiden nor Makenna have the heart to tell her the truth. So they play along for her benefit. The problem is, Aiden really would like for it to be true, now all he has to do is win over Makenna and convince her that this is meant to be and he is worth her affections.
Again, Ms. Berry has produced a beautiful love story with a great plot and a captivating storyline. Added to that were her wonderful, fully developed characters- the combination of these pulled me into the story and wrapped me up in its warm embrace. I was so completely emotionally invested in every detail. I couldn’t put it down, reading it in one session.
Aiden was so adorable and the way he loved his Grandmother was so sweet. I loved his interactions with Ryder, they were so cute together. Nonna was a darling- quite feisty, very loving and says what she thinks. I hope to be like her when I’m eighty-nine years old. Makenna was so strong and yet vulnerable. Makenna’s ex showing up in the picture, causes some trouble as he is pushy and jealous.
This is a reasonably quick, easy read. It can be read as a standalone and ends in a H.E.A.
Ms. Berry manages to instil a lot of charm, heart, soul and feeling into her stories and character. I really recommend this book- you’ll love it and won’t regret getting it. Just be prepared to fall in love with Ms. Berry’s work!
I can’t wait to jump into her next book!

Thank you Ms. Berry.

Fit for Love by Brinda Berry is the third book in the Stand by Me series. This is a standalone novel told from Makenna and Aiden’s point of view with a few well developed side characters. It’s witty, deep, and romantic and definitely won’t be my last novel to read by Brinda Berry.

Makenna Ross is not looking for a man. Growing up without a father and then getting pregnant by her ex-boyfriend and him not really being in the picture most the time, she finds it best just to stay away from men. But, one New Year’s eve, she meets Aiden, and when the clock strikes twelve, he kisses her with a passion that leaves her breathless.

“He kisses like he’ll die tomorrow so he’d better make good today.”

Immediately after meeting Makenna, Aiden Alesini knows there’s something very different that sets her apart from all the other women he’s ever met. He meets her on New Year’s Eve and a misunderstanding leads others to believe that they’re engaged. They decide to lie for a bit to those around them just so they can grant Aiden’s grandmother her last dying wish-for Aiden to find love.

“I get lost in this nirvana.”

But, during this white lie, Aiden starts to fall hard and fast. And, the more he gets to know Makenna and her son, Ryder, he wants nothing more than to turn the lie into something real for them because he’s fallen in love with her and the love she has for her son. But, her ex-boyfriend decides he wants to fight for Makenna’s love right alongside Aiden.

“Some guys are handsome, some adorable. Aiden? He’s beautiful.”

But, all untruths eventually come to an end. Makenna pushes back as Aiden pushes harder to make this fake engagement real. Is Makenna willing to listen to her heart and give this beautiful man a real chance? Can she set aside her past in order to move forward in life with Aiden? Does her ex-boyfriend go to further lengths than Aiden to try to win her love?

“We have a chance at something spectacular. You know that, don’t you? This thing between us is what people search for and never find. I know what I’ve found in you. In you and Ryder.”

Brinda Berry will take you thru a beautiful story of two people, one chance meeting, and the lengths a man will go to convince a woman and her son that they’re the best thing that’s ever happened in his life. If you’re looking for a romantic story with a happy ending, then I highly recommend Fit for Love. I loved the writing style, the characters, and the beautiful story. I’ve read other Brinda Berry books and they never disappoint!

Fit for Love by Brinda Berry is a romance novel and it is the third book in the Stand by Me series, though you do not have to read the other books to understand this one as it is a standalone. Aiden Alesini is a fitness trainer who is trying to save money so that one day he could open up his own gym and he is very close to his grandmother as she is the one that helped him become the man he is. He hasn’t had the best of childhoods, but his grandmother has always been there for him and is also pretty much the reason he finds himself engaged… or well, actually fake engaged. On New Year’s Eve he is informed that his grandmother had a heart attack and his is given a ride to the hospital by a woman he had not met before, but was kissing. Once they checked on his grandmother the woman decided to leave, but it seems that his grandmother thought a bit differently. Aiden’s grandmother mistakes the woman as his fiancé, which the woman plays along with the role as she wanted to make the grandmother happy before she dies. Who is this woman you may be asking? Well, her name is Makenna Ross. Makenna is a songwriter as well as a single mother who never knew how things would change on that fateful New Year’s Eve. Kissing someone she didn’t know and becoming fake-engaged to him thanks to his grandmother? Yea, not something she expected to happen and even more unexpectedly during the time she knows him she starts having feelings for him which does come with problems of its own as when things start to become serious she tries to push him away the best she can. It’s hard for Makenna to believe she deserves love from anyone but her mother and son as she blames herself for her fathers’ death. Of course, falling in love with both Makenna and her son Ryder, Aiden won’t let her just get away. It is a sweet story and I absolutely love Aiden and Ryders’ interactions and how Aiden tries to get Ryder to like him, and it’s just… it’s too cute! I love those kinds of things because it’s always so funny, especially when the kids are like Ryder who makes the potential boyfriend work to even get on their good side as well as making it absolutely known that the mother is theirs. This is a really good read and I would for sure recommend it for anyone.

Fit for Love by Brinda Berr is the third novel in the “A Stand By Me” series. This story is about two people learning to trust each other. This book will make you happy, mad and cry all at the same time. This story will show you that it is possible for two people to form a relationship and turn it into something more.

Makenna “Mak” Ross is a woman who writes music and is a mommy. She suffered a traumatic situation with her father and blames herself for it. One night she is about go on stage to fill in for a band when a fight occurs and that's when she meets him. She accidentally hits him in the eye and offers to take him home. Once there he gets a call that his grandmother is in the hospital. She goes with him to the hospital and finds herself pretending to be his fiancee. Will she continue this pretending game? Will she let him into her heart?

Aiden Alesini is a man who works at a gym as a trainer and is a health nut. Its New Years Eve and he is filling in at the bar for a friend when she comes up to the bar. He finds her attractive from the start. His grandmother always said that the person you kiss at midnight is who you will end up with. Will he kiss her? Is what his grandmother always said true? Will he convince her to play the part of his fiancee for the sake of his grandmother? Will he win her over?

Mak and Aiden's story is an up and down relationship and will keep you wanting to find out what will happen with them. Will they be able to overcome Mak's tragedy? Will they turn their friendship into a relationship? Will Mak trust Aiden with her heart?

This is a first read for me by Brinda Berr. Brinda lives with her family in the United States. She likes to spend time on sandy beaches, new technology, Kings of Leon and cairn terriers. She enjoys chocolate and stories that take her away from reality. This is a easy fast read and these characters make it that way. It makes you want to see if they end up together. I suggest everyone read this book as they will find it as enjoyable as I did.

Makenna Ross had a traumatic childhood that has left her emotionally scarred. It's something that has left her not wanting to get attached to anyone. Having her son shows her that she doesn't need a man to be happy she just needs her son and her mother. So when she helps out a guy that she just so happens to punch in the face, by pretending to be his fiance for his grandma that is in the hospital. MaKenna is a songwriter who has a pushy, jealous, baby fathers who just so happens to be a famous singer. He also wants to come back into both of their lives. So not only does Aiden get help from her but he helps Makenna out.
Aiden Alesini is a fitness trainer who is trying to save enough money to open up his own gym. New Year's Eve brings many changes. First he gets punched in the face by the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. Next he gets a phone call that has turned his life completely upside down. There's nothing he wouldn't do for his grandma she has raised him to be the man he is today. He didn't have a fabulous childhood but his grandmother is the only constant in his life. When he bags MaKenna to be his pretend fiance his grandma is beside herself with joy.
They slowly start to build a relationship that may have started out on a lie but form into something solid. When it starts to get serious though Makenna tries to push Aiden away. He does everything in his power to show her then he is in it wholeheartedly it's not just pretend for him. Can she really trust another man not to hurt her or will it be too late?

This book pulled at my heartstrings from page 1. Aiden he is a unique man he has a goal and his life that nothing will stop him from achieving. He loves wholeheartedly and it's hard happens to want Makenna. Now Makenna is a great mom. Yeah her childhood was not pleasant after reading about it yeah I would have tough time with that also. I thought they were the perfect match for each other. I loved them from page 1. How they met that is unique, I don't think I have read a book today that had a couple start off like they did.

Fit for Love by Brinda Berry rated 4 stars

Makenna Ross, who is a songwriter, has a child and a rock star ex not counting childhood baggage. Aiden Alesini has a wonderfully pushy grandmother and a deep interest in learning about all things Makenna. Makenna Ross is doing a friend a favor, on New Year's Eve, singing onstage. Aiden Alesini was filling in as bartender that night. He sees Makenna and instantly wants to know her better but first there is that delicious midnight kiss they share. Makenna goes on stage and a fight breaks out. Aiden rushed up to defend her. Little did he know she threw a heck of a punch and clocked him in the eye. Feeling bad Makenna offers to take him home and clean him up. This coincidental meeting is the start of a wonderfully real relationship.

Aiden worries about meeting Ryder, Mckenna's son. He wonders what to do to make sure Ryder likes him. There are some funny scenes on the first get together for all three of them. Ryder has quite the stare and it unnerves Aiden so he feels like he is enemy number one to him. Eventually Aiden and Ryder become pals. The relationship between Makenna and Aiden only progresses because Aidan's grandmother swears she is his other half. Somehow Makenna get talked into being Aiden's fake fiancée to make his grandmother happy. The problem with a fake relationship is the couple spends so much time together they start liking each other. When Mckenna's ex , also Ryder's dad, shows up he tries to break up the happy fake couple. Makenna has a habit of running from relationships. Will she be able to overcome her past and stop running? Will Aiden be strong enough to overcome her fears?
This was a easy to read romance. There were quite a few cute scenes with Ryder that I could imagine happening in real life. Also I don't want to forget to mention the songwriting that is throughout the book. One of my favorites was:
One little promise
Two to make mistakes
Three to start a family
Four can make it break

Fit for Love is a romance novel in the Stand By Me series by Brinda Berry – it is a standalone book. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. The author has a lovely, relaxed writing style that made it easy to read and she also created characters that were very easy to fall in love with.
The story is about Aiden Alesini, a bar tender, fitness trainer and fake fiancé. One minute he’s kissing a complete stranger at midnight New Year’s Eve and the next he’s engaged to her but it’s only to appease his Grandmother. His Nonna’s dying wish is for Aiden to find someone and settle down. Songwriter Makenna Ross is perfect for Aiden and she’s also the hottest woman he’s ever met – thankfully she agrees to go along with the fake engagement but the longer he knows and the closer Aiden gets to Makenna the more he falls for her – and also her little boy. Makenna doesn’t do commitment and Aiden knows that she is hiding something from him because the harder he chases her - the faster she runs.
I just totally loved these characters. I have to admit the model on the cover (who is extremely HOT by the way) is actually how I imagined Aiden to look. The way he loved his Nonna melted my heart, then he started to pursue Makenna and he melted my heart again and just when I thought he couldn’t do anything else when he started to try and build a relationship with Makenna’s son I was gone - he stole my already melted heart and ran away with it - he has also set up camp on my book boyfriend list!
Makenna is a great character too – she has a lot of love to give but something is stopping her and once I found out what it was my heart broke for her. Luckily she had Aiden there to break down the walls she had erected around her heart and show her that she is ‘Fit for Love’
A really lovely story - full of romance and swoon worthy moments. I give Fit for Love 5 beautiful stars!

Songwriter Makenna Ross is the hottest woman I've ever met, and she's been strumming at my heartstrings from our very first kiss. And her little boy? He's stolen my affection, too.I didn't plan to fall for her. One minute I'm kissing a stranger on New Year's Eve and the next I'm engaged. It's only a misunderstanding, but I'll take advantage of this unexpected gift. A convenient fake engagement is just what the doctor ordered for my dying grandmotherThere's something she's not telling me. The harder I chase, the faster she runs. She's perfect for me, if she'll let her guard down and let go of her past.

This is my chance to have everything I ever wanted but can I convince her to give up her ghosts from the past and just love me.?
Man and Aiden are destined to be together, from the beginning of this amazing story you know it's meant to be, but Makenna has scars from her childhood and her relationship with the father of her child so she is not going to enter into a relationship easily.
Aiden knows from the minute they meet that she is the one for him, but hour can he convince her that he is her to stay for her and her son Ryker?
When Aidens grandmother becomes ill they both agree to let her believe that they are engaged so that she can see her grandson happy, but to Aiden this is something he really wants.
I loved the character of Nonna, she was the perfect Italian grandmother, saying what she thinks and loving her family with all she has.
And then enter Makes ex, the rocker dad to Ryker, and fireworks start immediately.
I really enjoyed this story by the talented author Brinda Berry.
It has everything that you could ask for in a perfect story, hot fitness guy, cute girl, ex's, family, and things from their pasts to add trouble to the mix.
I definitely look forward to reading more from this very talented author.

FIT FOR LOVE. BY BRINDA BERRY. *****5*****
THERE IS SOMETHING SHE IS NOT TELLING ME. THE HARDER I CHASE HER THE FASTER SHE RUNS. SHE IS PERFECT FOR ME, IF SHE WILL JUST LET HER GUARD DOWN AND LET GO OF HER PAST. THIS IS MY CHANCE TO HAVE EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED. MY NAME IS AIDEN ALESINI AND I WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO WIN HER LOVE.
"I KNEW FROM THE VERY FIRST TIME I WATCHED YOU SINGING ON THAT STAGE , THAT YOU WERE GOING TO BE WORTH WHATEVER IT TOOK TO MAKE YOU MINE."
MAKENNA IS A SINGLE MOTHER AND A SONGWRITER. HER SON RYDER IS THREE AND AFTER BEING BURNT BY HIS FATHER HAS NO INTEREST IN COMMITMENT. BEING A SINGLE MOTHER COMES FIRST BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE.
AIDEN IS A FITNESS TRAINER, WHO MOONLIGHTS AS A BAR TENDER. ON NEW YEAR'S EVE THE BAND THATS PLAYING JUST SO HAPPENS TO BE THE BAND MAKENNA IS WITH. BEFORE SHE GETS ON STAGE SOMEONE SHOUTS OUT TO GRAB THE PERSON NEXT TO YOU AND KISS THEM OR YOU WILL HAVE BAD LUCK NEXT YEAR. SO AIDEN GRABS MAKENNA AND KISSES HER, WHICH BOTH ARE STUNNED AT THE ELECTRICITY THAT IS FLOWING THRU THEM.
"GREAT THINGS HAPPEN WITH GREAT EFFORT. YOU AND I ARE DESTINED FOR SOMETHING GREAT." MAKENNA OFFERS TO DRIVE HIM HOME AND ON THE WAY THE HOSPITAL CALLS INFORMING AIDEN HIS GRANDMOTHER NONNA HAS BEEN ADMITTED. HE PANICS AND ASKS MAKENNA TO PRETEND TO BE HIS GIRLFRIEND TO MAKE NONNA HAPPY AND HOPEFULLY PULL HER OUT OF DANGER. SHE AGREES BUT SHE HAS HER OWN DEMONS SHE FIGHTS DAILY THINKING SHE IS NOT WORTHY OF LOVE AND TO BE LOVED.
AIDEN MAKES HER FEEL SAFE AND LOVED AND HE TREATS HER SPECIAL AND THAT SCARES HER TO DEATH. WILL MAKENNA BE ABLE TO FORGIVE HERSELF FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS NOT HER FAULT? WILL SHE RUIN THE BEST THING THAT'S EVER HAPPENED TO HER? YOU WILL HAVE TO READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!
THIS AUTHOR IS NEW TO ME AND I HAVE LOVED THIS STORY.

Makenna has been through a awful lot in her past and with the darkness from the past seeping into her life now which makes her guarded and no longer think she deserves a happy ever after the two people in her life she is open too is her son Ryder and her mama who means the world to her but her life is turned upside down when she meets Aiden. When Aiden first lays eyes on Makenna he can't help but feel all these different emotions the need to claim her as his and make her the one but that’s insane right he hasn't even spoken to her and yet he wants everything with her. When he looks into her eyes he can see sadness there but it doesn't make he run for the hills he wants to get to know everything about her. The thing is when Makenna feels trapped or feels to much she runs scared so when Aiden just ask for her number and date the first thing she do is try and push him away by telling him she has a three year old son thinking he won't be interested but shes so wrong yes he's scared because he's never really been around kids but he want to get to know him too. Aiden is determined to get through her walls she has built so high around her and also get her to see that he wants a future with her the happily ever after but can he convince her. There are so many obstacles along the way will it scare of Aiden or will he continue to fight?...
I absolutely loved this book Aiden is a adorable lovable character to top it of he's sexy and in control in the bedroom what more could you want and Makenna she's a sweetheart you can't help but feel sorry for her you just want to shake her to get her to see what's in front of her. The storyline is addictive I was sucked in right from the start I actually couldn't put it done til I finished it. It's a beautiful love story with ups and downs but worth every second you read you won't be disappointed at all.

Fit For Love by Brinda Berry is a Stand By Me Novel. I love when I find a new author that I find myself wanting to read all of the books they have written!!! This is one of those books that will get you interested in catching up with all the characters!!!
Is it fate when two people are at a bar on New Years Eve both helping out someone they know and meet and have a night you never forget!
Aiden Alesini is helping out on New Years Eve at a bar called Dastardly Bastards... Makenna Ross is also helping a friend by singing in a band for the night because her friend had step throat!! Aiden normally doesn't look for anyone from the bar, but when he lays eyes on Makenna, he feels something. The first night, they had a short kiss on new years eve, then Makenna accidentally punches Aiden in the eye, leaving him with a swollen eye. Makenna was going to being him home when he gets an emergency phone call from his Nonna's friend/neighbor, that Nonna was sent in the ambulance and is noe in the ICU. On the way Makenna who was driving like a maniac, got pulled over and gotten a huge ticket. Then at the hospital Nonna thought that Makenna was Aidens fiancee. That Aiden just didn't want to introduce her to Makenna. They went along with it because they didn't know if she would make it and didn't want to upset her at the hospital.. WHAT A FIRST NIGHT FULL OF LAUGHTER, FIGHTING, TEARS, AND A KISS!!! All in one night of meeting someone... If that's how the first night went what do you think will happen next???? You will not be disappointed in reading this book and you won't be able to put it down until you finish!!
Someone from Makenna past cones back to stir up trouble, Will it destroy any chance at happiness? Can Makenna and Aiden tell each other about their past??!
I give this book 5 Stars!!!

I may be biased here, but Fit for Love by Brinda Berry is a very sweet and heartfelt story that deals with emotions in a realistic yet approachable. Anyone who has ever lost someone they love, like a grandmother will understand and react to this story. This was a simple yet pulling story of two people who connect on a deep level when they first meet and as fate likes to do, they get caught up in drama to the nth degree. This is the first book in the Stand by Me series and I believe it foretells of greatness in the future.
Aiden will do anything to make his grandmother happy before she leaves this world even if that includes lying to her, that is a love I understand. Ryder, the precocious three-year-old son of Makenna will steal the scene and your heart every time he opens his mouth. Makenna has a secret that she keeps hidden away, and that has worked quite well for her in the past. Aiden scares her, she hasn’t felt this way about a man for a long time if ever, but will he still want her after he finds out her truth?
I could relate to this story on a few levels. I am a daughter of a single mother who carried her own secrets with her and I saw how that changed the way she would react to people. It isn’t easy to let people in when you are scared or hurt, especially if you have a child to take care of. That may be the case in this four-star read but Brinda Berry handled it well. I never felt sorry for Makenna and I thought the way she finally trusted Aiden was honest. It doesn’t happen overnight and this story reflected that. Though there are other challenges in this story the death of Nonna and Makenna learning to trust again are the main focus and I could have read about those stories for much longer than I had the chance to.

Fit For Love is the third book in the Stand By Me series by Brinda Berry. This is the first book of Ms. Berry’s that I have read so far, and I loved every single minute of it!

Makenna Ross is a successful songwriter and a single mother who is determined to do the best she can for her 3-year-old son Ryder. She had a rough childhood and she’s been haunted by it ever since. Her focus is on her little boy and her career. She keeps her heart protected by not letting anyone close! It’s going to take someone special to break through them!

Aiden Alesini is single good-looking guy and works as a personal trainer in a gym. He dreams of opening his own gym one day and is saving as much as he can to put towards achieving his goal. He crosses paths with the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen (Makenna) while bartending at his friend’s bar.

She and Aiden end up sharing a sizzling, soul-searing kiss to welcome in the New Year, both are left reeling from the powerful chemistry that surges between them. Bar fights and Aiden’s grandmother all play a huge role in getting these two together; but will it be enough?

Aiden was so adorable and the way he loved his Grandmother was so sweet. I also absolutely loved his interactions with Ryder. Nonna was a darling- quite feisty, very loving and says what she thinks. Makenna was so strong and yet vulnerable and absolutely captured my heart!

This is a reasonably quick, easy read. It can be read as a standalone and while it’s the third book in the series, I never felt lost by not having read the first two.
Ms. Berry creates a charming and heart-warming world with her stories and characters. I recommend this 5-star book to any romance lover!
I can’t wait to jump into her next book!

Fit For Love – Brinda Berry – 5 Stars
Fit For Love by Brinda Berry is Book # 3 in the Stand By Me series but can be read as a standalone HEA romance.
It’s the story of Aiden and Makenna who live in Nashville. He has gray eyes with long lashes, his hair smells like wood and leather and he is fit and muscular because he’s a personal trainer who trains for triathlons. She is a song writer, with red hair, hazel eyes that tip catlike at the corners, framed with dark lashes and a Cupid’s bow mouth with a creamy complexion. Her voice is sultry and inviting. (Sheesh did it get hot in here?) How could it NOT be “crush at first site”?
I really enjoyed reading Aiden and Mak’s romantic love story – man meets woman on New Year’s Eve while he is bartending and she is on stage with the band. She throws the first punch, he throws the first kiss and together they work through navigating life as a “fake couple”. Oh? I didn’t mention Aiden’s Nonna? Well she… Oh wait, I don’t want to give away the whole story.
Both main characters where raised by strong female role models, have long term goals and have plans how to achieve those goals. They are strong willed yet willing to bend and compromise, not so stuck in their ways that they can’t communicate through life’s obstacles. I really liked that Aiden and Mak are able to communicate with each other like grown-ups. The characters are well defined, there is no guessing as to what the other is thinking. One of my favorite lines in this book is: “Great things happen with great effort. You and I are destined for something great.” ~Swoon~
If you like a good romance, I don’t think you will be disappointed by Fit for Love

Fit for Love by Brinda Berry

4 Stars

Fit for Love by Brinda Berry is the third book in her Stand by Me series, where Aiden the fitness instructor’s chance meeting with the feisty, sincere and supportive songwriter Makenna leads to a story that makes you believe in love at first sight and that everyone is destined, no matter what, to find their perfect partner.

Makenna’s past has prevented her from committing to any relationship. Up until she meets Aiden, her most successful relationships have been with her mother and her son. Aiden’ sincerity and perseverance breaks down Mak’s carefully constructed walls; all aided by his grandmother’s good –hearted machinations to see her grandson married.

Aiden spots Makenna in a bar, and is drawn to defend her honour, but in all honesty she can and does fend for herself, her life has made her that way. He falls hard, and I don’t blame him. He has his work cut out for him, having to win over her son, her mother, and her ex… a tough contingency for anyone to handle, but he handles it well… so well that it’ll have you cheering by the time you get to the epilogue.

Unlike many “adult” fiction books that I have read, the sexual content is not gratuitous; it is well handled and appropriate, enhancing the storyline and the developing relationship between Mak and Aiden.

Having come to this series late, I’m looking forward to going back and reading books one and two in the set, as I think, although Fit for Love stands alone well, I’ll enjoy them just as much if not more so. Brinda’s writing style makes it so easy to get into the characters and their storyline without any effort at all.

Fit for Love is the third installment of the Stand by Me series by Brinda Berry. This story hooked me from the first page! There was something about Aiden Alesini and Makenna Ross’ characters that were so relatable that I couldn’t help but feel a unique connection. This story was one that I didn’t want to put down.

Makenna Ross is a single mother of three-year-old, Ryder. She’s a very successful songwriter who finds herself at a bar on New Year’s Eve and ends up kissing a stranger. Granted it’s a stranger that she finds she has this chemistry with that she cannot ignore. Due to an emergency situation with Aiden’s grandmother, they find themselves in an even more strange situation where she is Aiden’s fake fiancé.

Aiden is a fitness trainer. He is working hard to reach his goal of opening and owning his own gym. No relationships were supposed to get in the way of that. His whole world is turned upside down when he kisses Makenna on New Year’s Eve. Besides the fact that she is gorgeous there is something about her that he is drawn to.

Aiden and Makenna start to spend a lot of time together. She is hesitant at first to how he is going to interact and get along with her son. Aiden, himself, is nervous that Ryder isn’t going to like him. Once that obstacle is overcome, Aiden and Makenna have to figure out what they want. Are they on the same page? Can Makenna get over her past and make any kind of future with Aiden or is she going to keep her walls up forever and eventually push him away?

I loved Makenna and Aiden’s story! The characters were great, the emotions felt real and you couldn’t help but fall in love with Ryder! I definitely recommend Fit for Love!

This book took me by surprise. I honestly enjoyed reading this story of love, honor and self worth. A chance meeting between Makenna Ross and Aiden Alesini. Time seemed to stand still when these two met. From that first spark sent Aiden to find out more on this fiery spirit. Makenna is a songwriter who prefers to be backstage rather than being onstage. Things between Aiden and Makenna turn fun and innocent while Aiden checks on his grandmother. Makenna turns into Aiden's fiancée. Something to humor his dying grandmother with. “Nonna” is an Italian woman whose dying wish is to see her grandson happy before she leaves this world. This lady made me laugh out loud and smile so big my cheeks hurt from the constant happiness reminding myself of my own sassy grandmother. While going along being Aiden’s fiancée her and Aiden strike up a friendship which has a lot of sparks. Makenna is a single mom to Ryder, her spitfire of a toddler. He's his own story lol. Makenna’s ex and Ryder’s father comes back on the scene and wants what he pushed aside. Aiden has a stake in this new life he's created with Makenna and Ryder. Makenna having a troubled past painted with heartbreak makes her heart guarded. Aiden wants nothing more than to tear down her walls and give her new inspiration for new music. Things happen with Aiden and Makenna feeling their time of “pretending” is over, but he's ready to fight for his future and the family he deserves. Reading this story by Ms. Brinda Berry, I had no clue this was the third book in it's series. I read it as a standalone. Now I can't wait to go and get the first two and meet the other stories!

Book: Fit For Love
Author: Brinda Berry
Series: Stand by Me #3

Fit for Love by Brinda Berry was a great 5 star read.

While bartending on New Year's Eve Aiden meets a beautiful redhead, Makenna who definitely can take care of herself. While she was onstage singing, a drunk came up and started harassing her which turned into a fight. When Aiden stepped in to help, Makenna accidentally punches him in the face.

Mak ends up taking Aiden home, while on the way he gets an emergency call about his Nonna.
Mak ends up going to the hospital with Aiden where Nonna misinterprets who Mak really is. She has so many dreams for Aiden and she feels like one of them is finally coming true.

Aiden convinces Mak to go along with the charade to make his Nonna happy. As these two grow closer, Mak is still trying to keep her distance due to some past demons. Mak’s ex and Ryder’s father is trying to come back into the picture, especially when he learns about Aiden jealousy sets in.

The harder I chase her the faster she runs.

There is so much more to this great read. I loved the humor, I had some LOL moments that really added to the story and I had some ugly cry moments. I was emotionally all over the board with this read. I also really enjoyed all of the secondary characters. My favorites were Nonna and Ryder, Nonna was feisty and didn’t hold anything back and Ryder was very protective of his mommy (so sweet). Fit for Love is book #3 in the Stand by Me series however it can be read as a stand alone. If you're looking for a great read with a HEA than 1-click and get started today. Thank you Brinda Berry for a great read.

Brinda had me feeling so much throughout this book. I think anyone can relate to some if not many of the emotions these characters go through. Self doubt, worthiness, jealousy, guilt, love, loss, excitement, pride, loyalty, sorrow and joy. I laughed, cried, hurt and celebrated right along with them.

Aiden has a game plan of opening his own health club. He works hard towards his goal and is a good, honest guy. He adores his grandmother who raised him. She is 89 years old and wants to see him married and with children of his own.

Mak is a songwriter and raising her three year old son Ryder on her own. She lives next door to her mom who is her rock. She feels so much guilt for things that happened in her youth and deprives herself of happiness outside of being a daughter and mom. She feels if she gives her heart to someone they'd leave her like others before have.

While Aiden is bar tending he meets Mak. They have an easy time talking to one another right from the start. Aiden gets a call that his grandmother is in the hospital and Mak offers to drive him. His grandmother confuses them as a couple and Mak lets her think it's the truth. She's afraid if his Nonna doesn't make it she should die knowing her grandson found the girl that will make all his dreams come true.

They continue the charade for his grandmother. Aiden starts wanting it to be true while Mak is pulling away afraid of the inevitable moment when he will walk away from her. Like all the men in her life before him have left her broken hearted.

You will laugh, cry, get frustrated and root for them.
