As a book drawing our attention to the sins of the premillennialists, it does a very unbiased assessment of the infatuation these brothers seem to have with finding every and any current event that can be acclaimed as a fulfilled prophecy. This, being true, is a slight on our integrity as men who ought to be God's mouthpieces. Should we be wrong repeatedly on the subject of the end-times and expect the unbelieving world to take us seriously? How do we speak in prophesyings and bestsellers and year after year (or is it decade after decade?), there continues to be gross irregularities in what we have proclaimed and what eventually happened. Brothers, the only way to explain this is: Presumption.

Let us simply teach what the bible says and if the Lord gives you a word of knowledge about political and cultural events that is the fulfillment of prophesy, please say, for we know that God cannot lie. But if these declarations does not come to pass, then we know that you have been under the influence of your ego. I know my Lord will come. And everything He has said about the events surrounding His coming will surely come to pass, but He has not made me a supervisor over the fulfillment or even the sequence of fulfillment of these things. Men have gained fame and notoriety by making themselves a fortune in guesswork. God have mercy on us all.

May God help all His servants!
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus.

Since John Cummings first interpreted Rosh as Russia in 1855 and predicted a Russian invasion of Israel, premillennialism has made hundreds of speculative and false predictions. Premillennialists would do well to examine the history of these ideas and learn. Premillennialism is based on literalism and one would think there would be a simple solution to its problems. Instead, it's just the opposite. Opportunistic interpretation of current events has brought their credibility to a low point. Those are some of the issues brought forward by Wilson in this fascinating look at premillennialism and history. This book and others can be read and downloaded for free from the Institute for Christian Economics.
