Mafia Made #2

The Game Changer

Rate this book
Terra
I'm going to marry this man, and nothing will stop me.
I didn't expect it to be Michael Tripp who left when we made our announcement. He knows this life, he knows what it means to be a part of mia familia.
He didn't know he was marrying the boss's daughter.
I kept it from him—I lied to him.
He came back, thank God. My love forgave me and the wedding is on.
I'll die before I allow any more secrets to come between us.

Tripp
I'm a man of my word. I love hard and tell it like it is. But the Mafia has me in their crosshairs and I'm in deep. Partnering with a crime boss is one thing. Working for a crime boss who is also your father-in-law…that's just f***ed.
I stepped up to the challenge. Shaking things up and making changes that needed to happen to secure our power. And the profits speak for themselves.
No one could have seen the end coming. No one could have stopped it, not even me.
The playing field has changed. And nothing will ever be the same.

Please do NOT read this review & this book if you haven't read book #1 yet!!

We basically start where we left Terra & Michael in book #1.
Michael just proposed and both couldn't be happier...BUT....
A few buts are standing between them and their Happy End!

First of all Terra needs to confess to Michaelwho her father is.
And of course Michael's and her father's dangerous and illegal business dealings are also a topic of discussion.

And all through the fighting and the making up and the dangerous life... Terra and her mom have a wedding to plan!

With some secrets still left to uncover, lots of danger, and LOTS of sexy time.....
Terra and Michael still have a LONG way to go until they can ride off into their Happily Ever After Sunset!

What will happen with Terra & Michael?
Will there be a HEA?
Will everybody survive this booK??
Or will there be a horrible Cliffy?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT ☺

YES! We're finally back with Michael & Terra!

I ususally have to do a re-read when the second book in a series comes out, but I didn't have the time, so I just read my review of book #1 and the last pages of the book again... I'm not sure if you should read this book if you haven't read the first one... you could if you really had to, but why should you? ☺

I'm not a fan of mafia books and I don't like my hero killing people while doing illegal business, but I guess that's what you get for reading a mafia romance! ☺
And I really liked it!
It's very adorable and suspensy and slighty eww here and there ☺ and mysterious and moving and very erotic!

I really enjoyed the book. I was a great romantic suspense story. You can't stop reading - you just have to know how the two of them will overcome all those problems...

Only...we won't know how their story will end yet - because it's a TRILOGY ...grrrrr ☺

And how the book ends is sending us in a totally new direction - and I had a lot of tears in my eyes reading the last pages .... but our darlings will get through everything thrown in their way in the last book... GIVE ME NOW PLEASE!!! ☺

THE GAME CHANGER was another very sexy & exciting mafia story!
Run to your nearest amazon for your own Michael - this one is MINE! ☺

~4.5 Game Changing Stars~
"You think keepin' secrets from your lover is different than lying?"
description

The Game Changer is the explosive second book in the Mafia Made Series. Tripp and Terra are back and when this hotshot Marine and the ultimate Mafia Princess get together sparks are sure to fly!

description
"Do you love him?"
The Game Changer picks up directly after The Gun Runner. Tripp has proposed to Terra and before they can make their way down the aisle Terra must come clean with Tripp about her family. As a Mafia Princess her connections are sure to complicate this blossoming romance. When the truth is revealed, will Michael remain by her side?

description
"As I rubbed her clit with my thumb, I guided the tip of my cock into her dripping-wet pussy. The air escaped from her lungs as I buried myself inside of her in one quick thrust."
When the truth is revealed, Michael is forgiving and willing to give Terra a second chance. As Michael is drawn closer to Terra and her family, he is quickly swept into the Mafia World. His father-in-law (to be) begins to place Michael in the ranks and when complications with the business mount, Michael is forced to step up and deliver. Between planning a wedding and battling their enemies, Michael and Terra are forced to hold on tight for the ride of their lives.

description
"...he loved me with all his heart."
Told in dual POV, The Game Changer offers a perfect blend of action, romance, and tenderness delivered with a heavy dose of delicious dirtiness. The plot is full of suspense, intrigue, and complex relationships. The romance element is off the charts as Terra and Michael grow even more closely together in this installment of the series. In true Hildreth style, the dialogue is unique, witty, and full of smutty goodness!

description

Overall, I highly recommend this entire series to any Mafia Romance fans. Michael Tripp is simply addictive and I am anxiously awaiting his return in The Good Boss.

ARC received for review

The continuing drama of Terra and Micheal. More of their journey together and his into the mafia family. Plus there's their BFFs hooking up. But then it just ended with a HFN for Michael and Terra and unfinished drama with Michael and her dad.

Where's the next book?

This is the continuation...and it is just as gritty as the first one. The first time I read one of Scott Hildreth's books, I was...shocked isn't the right word, but there was something about it that made it seem more real. This is great when we are speaking of the romance and the characters (who were very real in this one) but is a little tough (at least for me) when it comes to the violence of the mafia life.

But, then I think about what I said. Hmmm...this author portrays mafia life/violence in a way that feels authentic. Actually, this is a good thing. I have zero experience in anything related to the mafia...unless you count movies and tv shows, so the idea that this can shock me, and unsettle me, and give me pause...I liked that.

I liked it a lot. I also liked Terra and Michael. I liked the realism, I liked the fact that they both seemed fairly committed to the idea that they were together. This worked for me and, again, gave this a realistic quality that made me want to keep reading even after the "book complete" appeared on my Kindle.

Oh, and the events at the end, those made me want to keep reading too.

I recommend this book.

KIM'S REVIEW
5 STARS

Don't you just love an author that can write 4 words at the beginning of a chapter and make you think, "Oh lord this is going to be messy." Well Scott Hildreth is the master of creative chaos.
This is the second installment of Michael and Terra's journey to happy ever after.
There is love and laughter. Chaos and calm. There's also touching moments of self discovery and dreams come true.
And I think I love Cap even more than Michael.
As Terra discovers things about her father, some good, some not. She also grows up a little and becomes a strong, spirited woman. Perfect for a man like Michael.
There isn't an HEA yet. Michael just inherited a family. And A FAMILY.
We're going to have to wait for more from this amazing author before we find out what Michael and Terra's world is going to be.

I only read it because I had suffered through the first one - but damn it gets more ridiculous. What Mafia boss doesn't have an attorney on stand-by, doesn't understand the law, doesn't have a Consigliere, and has a daughter that outright asks her father, WHILE AT THE JAIL, if he's guilty?! Seriously?! Complete and utter nonsense.

The Game Changer is the second book in Scott Hildreth’s Mafia Made series. You definitely need to read the first book, The Gun Runner, before you read this one. It is by far one of my favorite books/series and Scott Hildreth has become one of my favorite authors. The writing style is so easy to follow and the characters are intriguing. Throw in the mafia along with some mind-blowing sex scenes and what else could you possibly need.

The Game Changer continues the unlikely love story between Mafia Princess Terra Agrioli and Gun Runner Michael Tripp. A lot of things happened in the first book including the engagement of Terra and Michael. This second book picks up with Michael now working with mafia boss Anthony Agrioli but still not knowing that his future wife is Anthony’s daughter because that’s a secret that Terra continues to keep. A couple of mafia related deaths and Terra’s confession about her true identity truly change the lives of Michael, Terra, and Anthony Agrioli. Without giving too much away, let’s just say that a criminal investigation into Agrioli has some unexpected consequences including the exposure of a rat inside the Agrioli crime family. Michael’s actions as a result of these revelations put him in an interesting position with Agrioli. He comes from not wanting to have anything to do with the mafia to becoming one of their most trusted assets. His instincts and dedication makes The Boss take notice and disregard the fact that Michael is not who he would have chosen as a son-in-law. On the other hand, these events also force Terra to take a different look at the mafia family that she has long tried to deny exists.

It was great to watch how both Michael and Terra began to embrace what it means to be a part of the mafia. Michael’s confidence and sense of loyalty is commendable. He truly goes all in and doesn’t hesitate to do what’s necessary to protect The Family. In addition, he is relentless in his quest for both vengeance and mafia justice. I was amazed by some of the things that happened because of information being withheld. I also gained a lot of respect for Terra as she began to realize that by turning a blind eye to her father’s organization while benefitting from its perks made her a hypocrite. Terra truly grew into a woman as the book progressed. Oddly enough, through a few tragedies and missteps, the Agrioli crime family actually grew stronger and closer. I could go on and on about everything that I liked about this book but I’d just end up giving everything away. In short, it’s well worth the read. I look forward to reading the third book in this series, The Good Boss, and I will have to read other books by Scott Hildreth to see if they can hold a candle to this series.

You have to read the book one to really understand what is happening in book 2. This series isn't really a stand alone and while the author does a good job of catching readers up the best he can you will get lost.
Scott Hildreth was able to effortlessly transitioned from The Gun Runner to this story to The Game Changers keeping his readers from the first novel hooked

The author created a story that feels real that it sucks the reader in keeping him hooked. His ability to create such a strong bond between characters where the reader will feel as if they are part of the family. While they are family readers will question their loyalty and if the character is betrayal the readers feels betrayed.
Scott Hildreth is able to create complete characters overs time while keeping the story moving creating a very captive read that readers will not want to put down.
When you finish this book #2 you will wish book 3 was out already.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy

Seriously Mr. Hildreth. Again with the insane cliffhanger??? Gaah!!! 5 wild ride stars for THE GAME CHANGER!!

Terra Agrioli has been hiding a big secret from her fiancé Michael Tripp: the fact that she's the daughter of a mob boss. Terra knows she's got to come clean with Michael AND her father, but she has no idea just how either of them will take the news. Fortunately, their love is strong enough to withstand just about anything, even murder, mayhem, arrests and la famiglia.

GO. GET. THIS. BOOK. It's so so good. I don't understand what it is about this rather bad dude that has me adoring him, but I'm a little obsessed with Michael! A former Marine turned gun runner turned associate of the mob, blood and killing have never been a problem for Michael. I totally adore Michael and Terra together, but my favorite part was seeing how Michael assimilated into the Agrioli family. It was interesting that he didn't wage a moral war with himself, even though he was, underneath, a really good guy. The relationship between him and Terra's father was complex and well written, and I was on the edge of my seat wondering exactly how that would pan out. This is a rough, wild and sexy read, but it's one I wholeheartedly recommend after reading the first book in the Mafia Made series, The Gun Runner, and I seriously can't wait for book 3, The Good Boss!

Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; no condom use; mild BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; loads of violence, murder. - See more at: http://www.theromancereviews.com/view...

As a follow up, it starts right where book one left off. This is good. There is actually a lot of fun to this story, but sadly, I was really irritated with much of the plot this time around.

Couple of things that really stand out...
The lack of awareness that Terra has. She's so in the dark, I find it difficult to believe. She's incredibly naive. And speaking of in the dark, her father, the mob boss? Well, he apparently hasn't got a clue what to do when getting arrested and really doesn't know what kind of things he could face. There are some very basic legal issues that he should be aware of and isn't, also leading me to question his intelligence.

And then there's this super charged need of Michael's to be part of the family now. I didn't feel his need for this in book one. Yea, he wanted to make a family with Terra, but now that he knows who she is, it's like a total change of mind. Where he had originally not wanted to be part of the mob, a get in do some work and get out attitude, it's all different now.

Then there is the whole issue with Terra's friend. OMG. More lying to the boyfriends... or omitting the truth and important facts. Now Michelle and Cap will have a huge issue going forward because what happens in this book is seriously messed up.

There's a lot wrong with this... and yet I can't look away. I know it seems like I have more problems with this than not. BUT, I still need to know what happens. Things have gone from intense to uber intense. I don't know where this is going, but I certainly didn't think I'd hold sympathy for a mom family. And I totally do. Maybe it's that they really didn't seem to be doing things that are all that bad... in the whole spectrum of bad things. I don't know. I do know that I'll be on board for the next book.

Adult Romance/Mafia Romance

ARC provided for an honest review through NetGalley.

This is book 2 in the Mafia Made series, a continuation of The Gun Runner (Mafia Made Book 1). See my 5 STAR review for The Gun Runner.

I recommend reading The Gun Runner first because you need the backstory to fully understand and enjoy this story.

I really enjoyed this book and I absolutely loved how it effortlessly transitioned from The Gun Runner to this story. (It has been a while since I read The Gun Runner and I had no issues picking the story back up. The Gun Runner really left a mark on me and I was so excited to reading this continuation.)

What makes this book so good is how Scott Hildreth builds up a detailed mob world that sucks you in. I felt as though I was part of the family and mob. AMAZING. I had strong allegiances/bonds to certain people and questioned everyone. Scott’s writing makes this world REAL. He builds a thrilling story off the detailed and complex characters and keeps the plot moving, ultimately creating a captivating read.

I don’t want to give away too much of this story, what I can say is this book continues to follow Terra and Tripp’s story as they grow and take on new challenges associated with being part of the mob. Overall I really enjoy mob themed romance books and this series is one of the many reasons why. It's so well done with all the mob details and aspects, HOT HOT HOT chemistry and the interactions between the characters. I can’t wait for the third book, The Good Boss (releasing May 1st), because I have a feeling it’s going to be just as amazing as this book.

I will say the 1st book in the series will always forever will be my fave ... but this is a close 2nd, still well worth the 5 star or even more stars!!

I have read "The Gun Runner", well in love, love seems like a weird word to put there, I'll keeping thinking how to describe them, but Scott's characters are so rich and descriptive ... you just feel you know them and/or you wanna meet them in person ... it was the kind of story that pulls ya in and then suddenly it was over and I knew by Amazon that "The Game Changer" would be coming sooner than later ... August 2, 2016 to Feb 6th, 2017, 7 months, I think I did count that right? That is a bit of the wait. & Darn it ... Scott has me ordering "The Good Boss", comes out August 21, 2017, I already have it pre-ordered ... he is just that good of an author ... I Love His style of writing!!! Such a fan. I love to see other reviews too 'cause I am not the only one who lives & breaths his style of writing ... they are like movie made, suspenseful, a bit of sexyness or hotness in there, all wrapped into one book. I love the team. SOLD!! Must read.

The Game Changer is book 2 in the Mafia Made series and should not be read unless you have already read book 1, The Gun Runner.

TGC picks up with Michael and Terra being engaged. Terra still hasn't told Michael who her father is and he hasn't gone into detail about his job. Terra also needs to tell her family about Michael so she can begin planning their wedding. There are dead ATF agents, snitches, and the Family has a rat to identify and take care of. I don't want to say too much, because I don't want to provide spoilers.

What I will say.... Location 81-82% on my Kindle .... OMMGGG!! I did not see that coming and I about swallowed my tongue. I've never been a very patient person and waiting until May to see what happens next is gonna drive me crazy! The Good Boss is book 3 in the series and is already up for pre-order on Amazon.

This was another great book by this great author. Scott remains one of the few authors whose books I automatically purchase. I can't wait to see what we get next.

DNF. I ended it when it became clear, that Tripp (Hero) was being pulled into the Mafia, without his wishing to do so and Terra (Heroine) was la-la-landing for her wedding preparations.

And then there was the scene of Tripp's punishment for Terra, because of her lies. Not sexy at all.

I'm out.

Fast-paced, fun that will have you on the edge of your seat at times, and awwww at others

Loved this second installment! After looking at a couple a reviews…is this standalone or part of a series. I think it can be standalone, but the story is best enjoyed after reading the first book, The Gun Runner. As there’s been 6-7 months between books, there’s enough little reminders from book 1 to get you by, which is also why you could read this without book 1.

This was a fast paced book, I’d say read, but I did this as an audio. In book 1, I felt Terra, the female lead, was underdeveloped and her dialogue a bit simplistic. She’s now developed and fully woven into the fabric of the story as with the rest of the characters. At points of the book I was at the edge of my seat waiting to hear what was going to happen next…and annoyed I had reached my destination (I was in my car listening) do I stay and listen more or go get business done and have something to look forward to?

I don’t want to give any of the story away, but there are some truly soft, and sentimental moments with Michael’s character….oh how it made me love this book even more.

Very much looking for the next installment! Read this series!!

Scott Hildreth's take on the mafia is uniquely his own. This book, the middle of three, leaves us hanging in several ways. I'm ok to wait the almost 3 months until the last book is published. There are a few typically "mafia" goings on in this book and some that are not so typical. I was interested all the way through. I do love how reading books by Mr. Hildreth is like cutting a hot knife through butter. This book was long on plot and short on sex. That's ok too because I like all kinds of reads, even though I prefer the nastier, sexier ones. The grit of this story, the impeccable quality of the hero's ethics, the twists and turns, more than make up for the lack of focus on sex. I have a feeling there's going to be a hell of a finish to this story.

I loved this one and was so happy to get the rest of the story from book one. Michael was just as amazing as he was in the first book. I loved Terra and really felt for her and everything she went through in this book. The secondary characters were awesome!! This was an amazing book with lots of twist and turns that kept me on my toes and looking forward to the next page just to see what was going to happen.

I love reading fictional mob stories, have since being a child, this is a good one.

Tripp and Terra are engaged to be married and she has finally told her father. He has accepted Tripp as a member of the family in both ways. Tripp has always wanted a family and has finally gotten one of his own. But the road will not be easy.

I gave this a three star because I saw what was coming from early on in the story. I didn't see what was coming at the very end though.

After reading the first book The Gun Runner I waited not so patiently for this book. The characters in the first book get you hooked and weirdly addicted to their personalities and into the story, so I was anxiously awaiting this release.

It's going to be so hard to accurately review the story without giving too much of book one away. You have got to read book 1 to fully understand this second book to the series.

Micheal Tripp was totally an amazing hero! He was slightly different in this book but not in a bad way. We just get a different looks at him. There were so many times my heart burst with joy for him because of all that he gets in this book.

Terra finally comes clean and my heart broke for her and all the crap she has to deal with in this book. She is a good person deep down, even if I'm book 1 she was misguided.

I loved Cap in this book. He make a huge impression on me. He was still a foul mouthed man, but sometimes he was so right and had some pretty amazing things to say. I would love to see him get some type of a book.

This one started of with action and blood and I couldn't be happier! We get more twists and turns and truths that come out. In book 1 we know exactly what was going on with Terra and with the ending of the first book we needed to know. I will say that I was very pleasantly surprised at the turns that the author made for these characters.

Overall, this was another amazing book and I can't wait for the next one!!!! Twists and turns left me with my jaw dropped and tears in my eyes, I need more!!!! But I'm the end this was an amazing follow up
To book 1, with another to follow! 5 stars #2OCCJD

Guess what? The Game Changer is out! And it is better than never. Scott Hildreth has released the continuation of Terra and Tripp story in The Game Changer.
The Game Changer starts off where the first book ended. Terra and Tripp are newly engaged but they are going to face some problems since Terra has not told Tripp about her family which will cause some stir throughout the book. You will definitely see some drama going on with them since they are facing some serious issues but they are determined to make it through.
Terra is definitely in big trouble because she has not told Tripp about her last name. She definitely will help to tell him since they are about to get marry. It may cause some problems between them but I just know that they are meant to be that they will work through it.
While Terra face her issues, Tripp will also face some challenges when he gets closer to the family. There are some big concerns problems which I won't spoiler but it will keep you interest until the end.
The Game Changer is the perfect suspense book that will change everything for Terra and Tripp lives. And we will get to see them again in the next book which I am delighted to read. So I will definitely start the countdown soon. Four Stars!
