Are either of them capable of keeping their partnership business only?
When recently-single billionaire Jason Harper dashes into Kylee Jones’s bakery to hide from the press, he brings all of the New York City press with him. For a day, Kylee experiences record sales, and Jason decides that they could help each other out: Kylee can pose as his new girlfriend for the press, and Kylee in turn will get tons of publicity for her bakery. And Jason’s ex, Hannah, just might get the message and move on.
What starts out as a brilliant business arrangement gets muddy when two attractive people are thrown together into a play and forced to pretend true love. When things turn confusing for the pair, how can they tell their true feelings apart from the acting? And are either of them worth telling the truth and risk losing each other forever?
**** This is a standalone full length BWWM romance novel with an HEA.****
The fake girlfriend stories aren't always as entertaining. The billionaire stories I usually feel the same way. But Alas.... This was a cool story. Billionaire CEO and eligible bachelor had to run for cover when he broke up with his equally rich girlfriend. He lands at the doorsteps of his soon to be fake girlfriend's pastry shop and the fakeness soon becomes real. The rich guy is a nice guy, the shop owner is smart and easy going. Together the story was fun and believable. The story did not focus too much on that he was a white billionaire, or the fact that she was an African American business owner. The story was about a couple who fell in love and had a HEA ending to their story.
Kylee and Jason meet while Jason is trying to hide from reporters. Jason left New York on the advice of his advisor, Felix. Jason had broken things off with his former girlfriend, Hannah. Hannah was a model with rich indulgent parents who had a terrible temperment. Hannah's parents owned a lot of newspapers and magazines, so the breakup was highly publicized from her point of view. Of course it put Jason at fault and as a bad person. As Kylee comes to offpen her business, a small bakery, Jason appears and asks to hide out till the reporters leave. From that point on Jason and Kylee spend time together having the reporters believe they are a couple. They even go on trips for a few days at a time. As they spend together and learn about each other they both began to wonder about what they feel for each other. Hannah cooks up a story that Jason has abandon her and her unborn child. Jason and Kylee work to find a way to stop Hannah. Hannah comes to the bakery after Jason has gone back to New York and to work. Hannah has reporters with her as she verbally attacks Kylee. Kylee in her quiet way works to defuse the situation with the help of one reporter, Ryan. And while Hannah is still at Kylee's bakery Jason calls Hannah. Jason is protective of Kylee in all ways and matters. Hannah then leaves after making a fool of herself with the reporters she brought along. Kylee and Jason are fighting with their feelings at this point but are coming to understand that they love each other. When Jason has to go to Paris for a conference he decided to take a chance and tell Kylee how he feels about her and all the things they have done together. When he gets to Kylee's bakery it is on fire and they are getting ready to take Kylee to the hospital. In fear of losing the woman he loves Jason tells Kyle's all. He also proposes for real. The course of true never did run smoothly. Good job Ms. Rivers.
Just finished this. I'm not sure what I think about it. It's a plot I've read in other stories (fake girlfriend thing), and I have to say this one was different. I was wondering if the two characters, Jason and Kylee had any kind of chemistry. They seemed more like friends, which is good, but I wanted to see more flirtation and stolen moments. They got together because they were supposed to, but I just didn't feel the connection between them. The story was a good one, but just wanted to see more romance between the two.
Aww man! I didn’t want this to end! It was a great story & Raven is becoming one of my favorite authors! I love her writing! Kylee and Jason were cute together even though it was pretended in the beginning. I even came to tolerate Ryan! I’m glad Hannah got put in her place by Kylee! This book was everything! Great job as always Raven!!
Nothing to jump & shout about..But ok. An unlikely but cute couple. There just wasn't a lot to get excited about. The sex scene was a little too raunchy..And the ending seemed rushed.
This is a delightful story with characters that are charming and entertaining. The story is compelling with drama and fun but believable as a couple there isn't much romance but there is championship and sizzling hot passion. It's a good story that I enjoy reading.
I love the characters Jason and Kylee. Kylee was a smart business woman in a fake relationship with billionaire Jason. It eventually becomes real and leads something. I thought it was cute how they worked out.
This was great read. I enjoyed how the H/ h got to know about each other.
What started as just pretend girlfriend, blossom into a very good romance.
Billionaire hiding from his problems. Crazy ex-girlfriend and her drama. While driving on the beach, he was spotted by one of his most dislike photographers. While running from him, found himself in front of a bakery and ask the owner for help.
The premise was good, but it fell flat for me. The connection was never really established between the h/h, heck even the love scene when you would "assume" two people would be ready to go he was only half mast until she gave him a blow job. Additionally, it could use an editor. When the H shows up at Kylees house she darts out in her towel to greet him, but then suddenly she is dressed?
I loved this book because its believable. Kylee and Jason's story will have you tickled. It will also show you the great lengths people would go through to make your life miserable.
This was a good read. What a great way to get to know someone. Although they were pretending they kept honest communication between them except their true feelings for each other.
It was a cute story, but kind of too slow for my liking. The ending seemed rushed. It was a short story, only 63% of the book and then she added another short story. I would definitely read something else from this author.
Aside from the whole "Billionaire" trope, this was a relatable story with two people who fumble their way through a relationship. One of the nicer stories I've read in a long time.
