My mom went to Catholic school and she wanted to become a nun. lol My dad told me the other day that he would have become a priest had he been brought up Catholic. I honestly wish I had attended catholic school rather than a public school but alas. The illustrations are beautiful, each page looks like a canvas painting. The nuns are strict but also motherly. Great book to read to a Catholic school kid.
I loved how you could really see the texture of the paint on the canvas in the illustrations. It made me imagine the illustrator at work. I love that! I liked the snow and how the nuns unexpectedly decided to sled with the kids. I also like the emphasis on poetry. I wasn't expecting that. This would be good for teaching a poetry unit, bonus points if it's in the winter! (Catholic CLASSROOM)

I like that the book showed a girl having fun with her teacher who she had just been in trouble with the day before. I like the stories that the teacher and the girl exchanged.

Snow Day tells the story of joy when a snow day sort of dismisses an extra homework assignment. Maggie was assigned a poem to write when she was caught passing notes, but when the nuns find Maggie playing in the snow the next day, her omission is found out.
Cute story about a little girl who just can't seem to get to her homework and some nuns who show that they can have fun too. I know I'll give this one away - just need to figure out to who???
