I have absolutely no unbiased or intelligent idea of whether these books (there are three in the series) are any good or not. I tripped over them when they first were published in the UK, fell in love with them, and was faithful ever more. If I read them for the first time now, would they get four stars? Probably not. Possibly even two.

But it doesn't matter. For me they are fours and will be forever.
