Have had a copy of this book for at least 8 that I bought from a used bookstore in Columbia, Missouri. Finally felt compelled to read it. I greatly admire Finkel’s ability to make the mundane feel beautiful. He presents overwhelming scenes in a way that feels serene. Truly loved this. Found myself wondering many times if I have passed through the same places he once may have, but perhaps my lapses in memory were from my inability to appreciate all that is in front of me, as Finkel was so clearly able to do.
