The sand cat is my new favorite animal. Tiny. Adorable. Eats scorpions and lives in burrows. Super intro to cat species (and the threats they face from habitat loss and clashes with farmers & ranchers). Fascinating animals!

The book wild cats was a great book and has great images. All the images were cats and really helped me with understanding them and I never knew there were this much cats. Some cats are nice for example a tabby cat and some are mean for example tigers there not always mean but they can kill you. An interesting thing about cats is that's a lot of them avoid human contact. There is even a cat called the bay cat and they all usually have a different species from there name, for example, you would think pumas species are called pumas but no they are called the concolors. And there is a cat called the African golden cat that has very nice golden fur. In conclusion, the book wild cats is a very good book and I recommend it to everyone.

"WildCats : Past and Present" written by John E. Becker, Ph. D. is a nonfiction book about wild cats from the past and now the present. The intended audience is for more upper elementary school and middle school students. This book is very detailed, including pictures, illustrations, captions, index, and a table of contents. The book is broken into 8 different sections starting at "Ancient Ancestors" all the way to "Wild Cats at Risk". This book would most definitely be in my library if I was a middle school teacher due to the information provided. However, I would not have this in my elementary classroom as I believe it is too complicated for most lower elementary school students to read and comprehend.

We got this book for our kids at the Reading festival, and it was really neat because the kids got to meet Mr. Becker, who signed the book for them.

I have to say that I absolutely loved this book, it really was wonderful. It is written in a way that is accessible to my kids, lots of beautiful illustrations, and very simply put. At the same time, it still conveys a massive quantity of information, in a clear, concise manner that made it an enjoyable and informative read for myself.

I'm not going to say "run out and buy it," but definitely "run to the library for it!".

I am not usually interested in cats or non-picture book non-fiction, but this one really sucked me in. I love the pictures and the text, very simple and readable.

This book is beautiful. It is a bit above my first-grader, but he loved looking at the stunning photographs.
