Daniela Sacerdoti is a mother and a writer. Born in Naples, but brought up in a small village in the Italian Alps, she lives near Glasgow with her husband and sons. She steals time to write when everyone has gone to bed, or before they wake up. She’s a Primary teacher, but she chose to be at home with her children. She loves being with her boys, reading anything she can get her hands on and chatting with her girlfriends. But she also adores being on her own, free to daydream and make up stories.
My first time reading this author - and it really didn't do it for me. I didn't really like any of the characters - and found it hard to empathise with them. And perhaps because I hadn't read any of the other books sent in Glen Avich, I didn't really get a sense of the setting or the community. Hey ho.
I've rated it as 2 because it exasperated the monkeys out of me but t's not badly written or actively terrible in that way - so it doesn't deserve a total pan.
As part of Daniela Sacerdoti's Glen Avich series, Calling You Home is short, sweet and Christmasy, a romantic novella that's easy to enjoy in one sitting. It includes all the essential ingredients for a heart-warming festive read - snowy mountains, a brooding hero, a baby that's in a rush to be born - with a touch of celtic mystery thrown in too. It's currently free on Amazon kindle, so recommend for anyone interested in reading more of Sacerdoti's popular Glen Avich series.
On my way to read every Daniela's book, I keep thinking after the end of each one, 'okay, no, this one is my favorite,' then I go on and read another one and you know the rest...She's definitely one of my favorite authors. Her way of writing gripping you tight at your heart and touching your soul with each words she writes...So gifted.
This is a little short book from the Glen Avich series. It was a little bit too short to get immersed into but still had the mysterious feel to it - a mysterious stranger turns up to help inary deliver her baby but no one knows who she is. I enjoyed it but not as much as her others I've read so far
This is a novella and gives you an insight to one of the characters from Glen Avich. I loved it as it transported me back to the Highlands of Scotland although for me it was just not long enough. Easy to read.
With a Novella you know that you can usually guess the end within the first couple of pages .. here I didn't mind that. The characters were quickly defined and there was enough back story for each to develop them further. Good little read to introduce me to this Author - will happily try a tree book in this Series.
A beautiful short story of true love, loss and family. The stories of Glen Avich really connect with the reader, you really feel like you're there in the village and the characters are wonderful.
The author has an uncanny way of weaving past and present, with relatives of this small Scottish Highland village. Who says it’s ever too late for love?
The Glen Avich series is unique and I have loved every one This is a novella based at Christmas and is a love story with a twist that warms your heart.
Although all these books are stand alone they all feature characters we met in previous books
Having read all the books I feel I am now part of the Glen Avich family and eagerly await future books.
