Daniel’s on leave from the Army to train an elite team of wolves… and a witch with a wild secret is not part of the plan.
Daniel Wilding’s family is being meticulously stalked by the Wolf Hunter. He takes a leave from the Army to fight back by assembling a team of white wolves—shifters who can tap into an ancient witchy magic. The only problem? The sexy witch brought in for the training is stirring up the wild magic inside him—magic he’d rather keep buried. But when he finds the hot little witch has a secret of her own, his wolf won’t rest until he uncovers it… only what he finds might let loose the wildest magic of all.
WILD MAGIC is a complete “after story” novella, a follow-on to the Wilding Pack Wolves series. All stories are standalone, but for maximum reader enjoyment, start with the Riverwise Private Security trilogy. Contains scorching hot shifters, alpha heroes, and sexy witches.
Really? The last book in the series and it only has 66 pages? I’ve read the other 5 books but this one was such a disappointment. Daniel only deserved 66 pages? That is soooo not right. AND it went so long without anyone saying a word when the story began I was beginning to think this would be a book without dialogue.
And WTH kind of ending to this series is this. Here’s part of the blurb from this story:
“Daniel Wilding’s family is being meticulously stalked by the Wolf Hunter. Daniel takes a leave from the Army to fight back by assembling a team of white wolves—shifters who can tap into an ancient witchy magic.”
Seriously? The Wolf Hunter was never caught or killed. Daniel met Skylar, they decided they were mates, they had sex, The End! This was book 6 of 6. Did I miss something in the other 5 books I read? Or is the Wolf Hunter just free to keep doing his experiments and killing wolves? A truly horrible ending. They all got their HEA but the bad guy goes free? I don’t know why I bothered.
There was sex in this book and the F-bomb was used 12 times.
As to the narrators: I can tell you Lydia Alexander is one lousy narrator! She reads like she’s in a race, she reads with no emotions and her voice is the same no matter who’s talking. Every man sounded just like her. She has ONLY this book that she’s narrated and already I don’t want to listen to her again. This is 2017 NOT 2009, where narrators know to sound manly when a man is talking, NOT just read the book like a speed reader.
As to narrator: Jong Lee? This is also his only narration and he’s just like Ms. Alexander. He reads too fast and the women sound like a man sometimes and he reads without emotion. WTH? That’s a helluva way to end a series: 66 pages and 2 awful narrators. It was disappointing all the way around.
Between Daniel Wilding, a wolf shifter and Skylar Starling, a witch they make Wild Magic when they met and get to know one another. The Wilding pack is still in danger from the 'Wolf Hunter' so Daniel has leave time from the Army to help lead his pack and defeat their enemy. Several members are white wolves (wolves with both wolf magic and witch magic) and Skylar has come to the family compound to help train the wolves to use and control their new type of magic.
The romance is fast, fun and full of surprises as Skylar keeps her secret and Daniel fights to control his white wolf. I loved the romance, the ending and would love for the series to go on further with the Wilding Wolf family saga.
Really Enjoyed This Story.. Must Check If I Missed Beginning!!
Over 18+ Reading Loved this ending but need to see if I missed some of the others of this series. I want to know more. Wouldn't even mind (and would enjoy it a lot) if at some point Alisa wanted to tel more of this couple Her excepting her wolf more fully and him learning to control his witch and his white wolf. Since he was black it would be fun to see how their families deal. The way she teases him, makes him face the things he wants to hide and the way knowing he wants her let's her face the things she has kept hidden. A beautiful story.
This is the after story of the Wilding Pack Wolves series. It tells Daniel's and Skylar's love story. It can be read alone but you really should read books 1-5 first. This is a fast read full of steamy sex and hot shifters magic. The characters are well written and the HEA completes the series beautifully. I loved the writing style, the characters, and the plot. There are no spoilers in the story but reading the whole series will make this novella more meaningful.
This is an "add-on" story that tells a little of the interaction between Daniel and Skylar thar happened in the prior book. There is not a while lot of substance and would have been better off as a subplot in Troy ans Zoe's story.
I am glad this was on Audible Escape because if I had paid directly for it I would have been extremely disappointed in my purchae.
A longer novella or full length story that included Daniel/Skylar and all the Wildings in a post Wolf Hunter demise would have been a much better choice and better use of a story in my opinion.
I binge purchased, binge listened, binge read, this entire series! So now I am binge reviewing! Each book in this series was very well written! That it was all offered in audio is what tipped the choice for me to one click them all. I was very happy with every book! The characters are excellent and the storylines are engaging for each book and for the series as a whole!
Skylar had a secret that could get her kicked out of her coven or killed. Daniel was the head of a group of white witch/werewolves and he could not do magic or turn into the white werewolf. Daniel is blown over by this witch, sparks fly and the rest is history. Well-written with well-developed characterization in this novellas. This is an adult only book due to sexual content.
The last book, Wild Fire, pretty much finished off the series. This very short book is just the story of how Daniel and Skylar come together. We had seen a little bit of them previously, but this is their love story, with the unexpected twists Alisa always gives us! No other couple could possibly complete each other in quite the same way as these two do! It may be short, but it's worth every minute!
So this is an 'aside' to the events in the previous book Wild Fire. We knew Danial and Skylar had hooked up, but it all happened off scene. This novelette revisits that window of time on Mama River's estate to let us 'peer around the corner.' As far as overall series plot goes, this book doesn't add anything and Wild Fire is the true conclusion volume.
A shorter than usual hot love story in the Wilding Pack.
She is a witch who is secretly a wolf, he is a wolf descended from a witch, and they need him to be able to pull his witch side out and be able to use the magic like a witch would. They did not see falling in love as a possibility.
This is Scarlet and Daniel’s story While the other books in this series got doc’ed a star because I already knew the ending, so it lost some of the suspense. With this book I just completed Wild Fire and this is essentially the same events told from a different POV. So I definitely knew what was going to happen, yet I enjoyed Scarlet and Daniel’s novelette the most. (Go figure)
This story ties in the other Wilding series stories very nicely. but it is very short! I actually expected it to expand the story lines a little...putting all the white wolves together and starting the WITCH part but it is just the love story for Work at and Daniel but it still ROCKS
The witch that is helping the white wolves control their magic has a secret. Daniel has been a bossy jerk in the other books but he comes into his witch in this one. Well worth the wait.
What a wonderful way to end the Wilding series by finding as mate for Alpha pack leader Daniel who finally accepts his magic powers by falling in love with Skylar who's a with with magic and also a wolf a perfect match.
Now Daniel has found his mate! So sweet and a witch with a secret so big her coven can never know! She's a wolf also powerful with slash wolf! So happy I got to read all these stories so much to read and live!
I was hesitant to read this as I felt that Daniel’s story was told (briefly) in the last book, but I was wrong. I’m glad I didn’t pass this by as it was a great short story to highlight the best parts of Daniel and Skyla getting together ❤️
I downloaded Wild Magic as a free 66 pg novella from Amazon. A quick read- good story, but no real substance or character development. Good for an hour's entertainment.
Read in TOTAL SHIFT OF THE HEART box set. The end of a series I have not read so cannot really comment. Thought it strange this was so short with very little story. The blurb had more interest.
Wild Magic is a paranormal romance that will keep you guessing as to what is really going on. I admit that I haven't read the rest of the books in the series but I truly did enjoy reading this book. Will read the rest to understand the other characters more. Plus it was just so easy to read and appreciate the characters, I need to know more about these individuals.
This is a great book by Alisa Woods. It is a story of Daniel who is a wolf, yet post witch and Skyler who is a witch yet also a wolf that she must keep secretive, she doesn't want to upset the coven nor her parents. Skyline is helping the white wolves train until Daniel shows up and notices a witch helping. You will have to read to find out what happens. Amazing story.
