I loved every moment. One of those rare books that you don't want to see end. A perfect portrayal of heart breaking and tumultuous truthful life. You have to read this. Don't wait.
The book begins and ends in a church service. As with any church service, the people in the pews and behid the pulpit are unendingly human and this book is about their humanity. A satisfying enough read, I doni't find myself wondering abut the futures of the characters. I enjoyed them, but I'm rather happy to hae them go away without me.
I found this book boring. I couldn’t really engage with the characters. It begins and ends in church. I felt like I was peering through the window, while someone whispered in y ear tidbits about the congregation.
This book started out very S-L-O-W, for me, but towards the end it did pick up a little bit of speed. But, to be honest, I am glad I finished it because I thought a couple of times of just giving up on it.
Not my favorite of hers -- so far -- but still quite good. A series of chapters, each devoted to a member of the town. AND all their secrets. Interesting..............
