Kiss of Leather #4
Grand Opening
The men of Kiss of Leather celebrate a beginning, but will the price be another ending?
The grand opening of Kiss of Leather draws near and the pressure is on to make sure everything is completed in time. Master Josh is a perfectionist, so no detail is too small in order to enhance the quality of the prestigious club they’ve all worked so tirelessly on. Unfortunately, the endless demands on Josh’s time have caused him to forget the more important things in life.
David’s love for Master Josh is overpowering at times, but lately, that love has been constantly tested. How can a sub in a fulltime D/s relationship serve a Master who’s never there? As things continue to deteriorate between him and Josh, David wonders if maybe his Master has tired of having to care for a sub full time.
By the time the grand opening arrives, Josh and David seem to have worked out their differences and David is hopeful for their future. The emotional collaring ceremony between Gavin and Kyle is a beautiful reminder of the power of love. But when an unexpected party crasher intrudes on the evening’s festivities, the men are reminded that there are still too many unanswered questions related to Corey’s kidnapping.
More than ever, the men of Kiss of Leather need to stand strong together. Will Josh and David be able to do the same?

Possible Trigger Warning: All Four Books in this series contain heavy BDSM content.
I really hate to see this series end. These guys have been beautiful together. However, I know Morticia Knight has more beautiful couples up her sleeve and more great books to write. Like the rest of this series, Grand Opening weaves the main story around a particular couple, blending it in with the threads of the previous three books, so you really should read the first three before tackling this one. In this addition we follow Josh and David. The story moves along the plot of the slave trafficking ring that caught up Corey and Marshall in the last two books, as well as catching us up on the relationship between Marshall and Stone. It also rather emphatically sets up the next book, which features Stone’s assistant and the manager of another club. If you are not familiar with the lifestyle you may find that the whole idea of a club like Kiss of Leather and the world in which these characters exist is somewhat of a stretch. Please don't misunderstand... clubs like Kiss of Leather do indeed exist but those of us not in that lifestyle seldom, if ever, see them in person and quite frankly probably never wish to. But reading about this one and the people that run it with their partners makes it one you kind of want to believe exists. This, Josh and David’s story, is both heart breaking and heartwarming, showing another side of the lifestyle that isn't seen that often in the BDSM stories.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on 'Grand Opening', book four in Morticia Knight's 'Kiss of Leather' series. I have loved seeing each of the previous couples find their way and fall in love, but I've been very curious about Master Josh and David. They are already an established D/s couple who have been together for a while so I didn't get the opportunity to see them meet and fall in love. I can only imagine what the stress of opening Kiss of Leather is going to do to them and I can't wait to watch.
One of the things I get the most enjoyment from in each of the books is that the author always begins with what's going on in the lives of the couple who were the main characters in the most recent installment. That means I got a look at Stone (sinfully hot) and Marshall (my favorite bratty bottom) and could reassure myself that all was still going well in their world even as they continued to work through their issues.
"A lone tear trailed down his cheek. It had nothing to do with being overwhelmed by his love for Josh. Instead, it was dangerously close to being from his fear that their love had already been lost."
Poor David and poor Josh. They've been together for five years but the last two years, and particularly the past six months, has seen Josh so focused on creating his BDSM dream club and the upcoming opening that he's forgotten what it means to have a boy. It takes Gavin reminding Josh of some very important things, but even then Josh figures it can wait until the club is open. Well, I certainly know that you can't put off forever what you need to do now. Certainly not in a loving, long-term relationship.
While Josh is dealing with his regret and disappointment in himself as a Master, and he and David are working on getting back to where they were before everything started sliding out from under them, Stone and Chuck, his associate, are still trying to identify the elusive Mike who was working with Tony in the selling of human slaves. Tony is currently in jail but they need to find all of the answers and get more proof in order to keep him there and get Mike arrested.
Oh boy. I really thought Josh was going to end up ruining everything between him and David. It was awful and I was on the edge of my seat anxiously hoping against hope that this could be fixed. Thank goodness for the Doms and subs of Kiss of Leather. They're a tight, loving family and if it wasn't for them, especially Gavin and Kyle, I think Josh could have lost David forever.
An exceptionally loving addition to the series that I greatly enjoyed. I know there'll be another book because the problem of Tony, Mike, and now a big-shot criminal defense attorney hasn't been solved yet. I loved seeing David and Josh work through their issues and reconfirm their love and commitment to each other. Sweet, sexy, hot, and very, very loving. A must-read!

In the fourth book of the series, the Masters get ready for their club opening. Master Josh and David realize they have grown apart, Josh neglecting his sub. The heart of the book is a penitent Josh reestablishing his D/S commitment with David. There are tears and angst along with deep feelings throughout the book, not to mention spicy times. As usual, all the Masters are included in the book in many capacities. I really enjoy this series. I received a copy of this book through Booksprout and this is my voluntary opinion.

This is the fourth book in the series, and does need to be read in order to fully appreciate the dynamics and plot lines. They are all excellent reads, so this would be no hardship at all!
The book does a lot of loose end tying up - although one big mystery continues to elude the guys... but means there must be a book 5 :-) It is great to see the club finally open, even if Josh is working even harder, and neglecting David ... a major theme of the story. I found it really interesting to think about just how much effort goes into such a 24/7 lifestyle, on both sides. As always good friends who can see the problems and are not afraid to speak out come to the rescue ... they really are invested in ensuring the best for all concerned. Marshall finally has a Master that gets him (and how; hot, hot, hot!) and old wounds are put to rest. Adding new blood - such as Chuck, ensures that the stories remain fresh and give the reader food for thought.
All that is wrapped up in some great writing, some steamy and erotic scenes that these masters think up for their subs, and some warm and caring loving that men find with each other. Yum!

OK - we get the (title of the book) :) for the Kiss of Leather club - which everyone has been waiting for. There are some little gems hidden with this story (get to them later), but the 'main' part of the story is the almost disintegration of the relationship between Josh (Master/Owner) and David, his sub.
Josh has worked hard (as have Gavin and Derek) to get the club opened by Christmas, but he's forgotten his responsibility to David, and David is feeling abandoned and unloved. With due respect, Josh doesn't f**king deserve David, who has maintained his submission and eagerness to please throughout the build up to the opening. Josh is an utter prick for forgetting him, and totally deserves everything Gavin gives (when Gavin undertakes to show Josh what submission means). OK, Josh and David love each other, but, oh my, David deserves better. [Hence the 3 stars]
Gems are the collaring of Kyle by Gavin; Marshall's conversation with David which is overheard by Stone (and oh, my golly gosh, I wish I could have been a spider on the wall for THAT consequence); and Chuck's burgeoning interest (and his blushing fits) :)

It was great to be back with the guys from Kiss of Leather. I love that the story doesn't just follow one couple but we get to see what is happening in the lives of all of the couples we've met so far.
I was surprised by the amount of angst I felt reading Grand Opening. The relationship trouble between Josh and David were issues experienced by many couples. My heart went out to David and I kind of wanted to smack Josh.
Will there be more books from the men of Kiss of Leather? I don't know but I sure hope so.

Walking in Another’s Moccasins!
A peek at Josh & David’s committed romantic relationship. This was actually a bit of a soap opera involving the owners of the BDSM Club and their subs, which I enjoyed. A good read!

Grand Opening: An M/M BDSM Romance is the fourth book in the ‘Kiss of Leather’ series. It stars all the Doms who own Kiss of Leather: Josh, Gavin, Derek, and Sloan, a Dom and the club’s detective. This is told in first person from multiple people’s views, the Doms, and the subs.
The blurb focuses on describing the troubles Josh and David are having in their relationship. It doesn’t however, take up a lot of the book, I’d say half of the story. There are other subplots that are given full chapters. The story starts out in Marshall’s pov and if I remember correctly, a sex scene between Marshall and Sloan. After that, chapters switch with Gavin and Kyle, Josh and David, Sloan and Marshall, and Sloan and Chuck. There’s more headway made into who the people are involved with Corey’s kidnapping, which Sloan and Chuck are investigating. Sloan’s assistant in the detective agency, Chuck, might be interested in BDSM. Chuck has an interest in Jordan, who is the owner of another BDSM club. David and Josh’s deteriorating relationship is covered but not that much. I think there’s too much time covering too many different topics. It makes the story feel fragmented. I understand the desire to tie up loose ends for the opening of the club, but it was too much.
Scenes I liked: David goes to see Marshall to see if he can straighten out their disagreements. Marshall turns out to be very sympathetic to David’s situation which David wasn’t expecting at all. I really liked their interaction. I liked the scenes between Chuck, Jordan, and Sloan. It was interesting watching a possible new relationship growing and how Chuck reacted. I also like Gavin taking Josh on as a sub so that Gavin could teach Josh how a sub felt. The time span jumped quite fast forward from after Josh’s sub contract beginning to ending, so readers weren’t given a complete idea of how Josh’s pov had changed, we were just told.
The thing I didn’t like. There was a ton of inner monologue. The monologues for each pov would go on for pages and it was all talk, no showing, no insertion of the character’s personality to brighten the monologue. It was flat and could be interchanged with any other character. The dialogue however was better. I could get an impression of the characters personalities, especially Marshall’s and Stone’s.
Overall, I thought Grand Opening was too cluttered with too many povs, and too much inner monologue which turned into telling instead of showing. This story did show where everyone was in their relationships up to this point, and how much they’d discovered concerning the mystery about Corey’s kidnapping, and Chuck and Jordan’s relationship. I give this book, 3 Stars.

The men of Kiss of Leather are back. This time the author focuses on the relationship between
Josh and David. Readers have seen their relationship from a distance in the prior stories but this story is about how even a long term, committed relationship sometimes needs work. David is feeling adrift and disconnected. He has always depended on Josh to be there for him and to include him decisions. Ever since Josh helped Marshall out of a bad situation, David worries that Josh doesn’t want to be with him anymore. Will they find their way back to their loving and committed relationship?
I like the journey that Josh and David go through in this book. The story does a really good job highlighting the importance of communication, particularly at times when you think life is too busy to slow down. I felt bad for David. He wants to stay home and take care of things but he also wants to feel wanted. I like how the author found a way to teach Josh how David is feeling. I think it is in a way that Josh won’t soon forget.
All of the books in this series suffer from the same issue in my opinion. The author includes adult scenes that focus on characters other than the central characters. In this book I understand why the scene in chapter 1 was included but I feel like it could have been at the end of the prior book. It was almost like Marshall was taking of David’s book just like David was afraid Marshall was taking over part of his life.
This is a contemporary M/M book with adult themes (it’s set in a lifestyle bar if you get my meaning). I will read more from this author in the future.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book 4 in the Kiss of Leather series, and you really SHOULD read the other books first, you won't get the full enjoyment out of this one if you don't.
This is all about Master Josh and his sub, David. Although they are already in a committed relationship, things between are tense, with Master Josh so busy at the club, and David left at home. Usually, David enjoys the Total Power Exchange part of their relationship, but how can he care for his Master, when said Master is never home?
This one, for me, fell a little short. While it IS Master Josh and David's story, it felt like there was very little of Master Josh and David! When David calls "moratorium" and calls a halt to their relationship, Master Josh is placed in a situation he never was meant to be: at the feet of another Dom. Gavin, to be exact. And we get so little of what Master Josh goes through, during those two weeks! I so desperately wanted it all: every single thing Master Gavin does to make Josh (cos let's face it, at this point, he doesn't deserve his Master title!) see, to really SEE what he has been putting David through, and we only get the very last bit.
The Grand Opening does eventually go off without a hitch, Master Josh and David's problems notwithstanding, but there is an unwelcome visitor, and Corey's kidnapping comes right back into the action.
I do enjoy the continuing story arc, and the fact that ALL the players from previous books continue to take part in subsequent books.
Just that this one fell a little flat.
so, 4 stars

Just that this one fell a little flat.
so, 4 stars

"Masters are humans and have as many or more faults as any sub has."
Josh and David are already an established couple, and over the past three books we've gotten to know them pretty well, so I was interested to see what Morticia had planned for them. I initially was surprised at their deteriorating relationship, but then, when I thought about it, it made sense. Josh has been extremely neglectful of devoted David for quite a while. I was happy to see this being addressed, but for most of the book, David and Josh seemed more of a side story than the main focus until the last couple of chapters. I understand that there was a lot of other information that needed to be revealed to continue to move the series along. I also understand that some of the scenes for this couldn't be told from Josh or David's pov. But it was very distracting and really took away from their love story. I was also a little disappointed we didn't get to see what happened during their time apart and the ending was way too rushed and abrupt.
The best part of the book was Gavin and Kyle's collaring ceremony, of course. Very moving with a suprising twist. I also loved the interactions between Stone and sweet, clueless Chuck. And the scene between Marshall and David! I laughed so hard! Marshall is definitely my favorite person in the series. He's hysterical, and I just love him.
Looking forward to the next book and seeing how Jordan handles Chuck. This should be quite amusing. 😉

Grand Opening is the fourth book in the Kiss of Leather series by author Morticia Knight. This one I am gonna be honest is not my favorite. It does have to be read in order. Like the other books in the series, you will meet other people we know from before.
There are a lot of storylines going on in this book. Josh is a Master and he is being overwhelmed with trying to get Kiss of Leather club off and running smoothly. His sub-David has been feeling well like he does not matter. Poor David though is a Sub and he doesn’t really communicate well with his Master. He just is patient till well he can’t be anymore. Josh fell into a trap I think that most of us in long-term relationships fall into we take the other person for granted. Well, David is worth way more than that.
There are some sub-stories in the main story here. And we do get to meet other Masters and Subs and see where they are in the relationships now.
For me there is way too much going on, I am a straightforward reader. I like my romantic couples and I felt that this book lacked that. I do however feel this book is important to the overall series and does give us storylines to move forward with. Just a ton going on and for me that got confusing.

So much is going on with the opening of the club and all the men involved are feeling the strain. Will it be worth it in the end or will it be the end?
This is a nice continuation of the relationship that are developing in this series. I loved seeing the bonds that deepen and the love that shines. My heart went out to David as we see the what Josh does not. Their story will pull on your heart and have you believing in love. It was nice to see the depth of emotions and the strength of the friendships as the men come together and support one another. I was quickly immersed in this book and am eager to return to this world and its characters.

As much as I thoroughly enjoyed this book I feel like I missed out on a lot. Because I just finished building bonds last week with Gavin and Kyle and I was upset that there was no closure for Marshall. Now in this book Marshall's back but he apparently been kidnapped. I love Josh and david. I'm very happy that Josh took a submissive role to open his eyes to what he was put in David drew. Because as a long time switch myself I feel like I have the best of both worlds and have a better understanding of both sides of the coin. I also appreciate that even though you should not use a fictional book as a lesson on BDSM I appreciate the fact that things aren't blown out of proportion in this book.

This is such a good series and I do recommend you read the previous books to follow the characters. This book gives us more insight into the established couple Master Josh and David. A thoroughly enjoyable storyline as we follow all their stresses and worries leading up to the opening Kiss of Leather, their BDSM club. A test for their love as David worries Josh no longer wants a full time sub whilst Josh feels he is letting David down! Luckily they overcome their issues and reaffirm their love and commitment to each other. Highly recommend.

Book 4 in the Kiss of Leather series did not disappoint. Another good one. I only had one issue and that’s more of a I don’t bend that way thing. These books are very much in the D/s zone. This impacts dress, behavior, relationship dynamics, etc. So, there’s certain k*nks that might not work for you. Mostly I’m here for it. I’m also enjoying the underlying story line and relationship development that continues from book to book. In this case, between Josh and David. They hits some bumps but find their way back to each other. Just beware, the underlying story thread is not resolved yet. More to come.

Lessons learned, high level angst, and emotions run ultra high all the way through. This was an eye opener for me and anyone else that thinks the Dom has all the answers and knows it all. They forget sometimes what their partner is feeling and going through, and this was an excellent reminder. I liked the communication between Doms and willingness to find solutions and fixes for problems. They are
more like family than friends. Relationships need constant work, love, care, and communication to remain viable. This is a real heart tugger. I can't wait for the next book.

This was a real page turner! The fourth book in this series that does need to be read in order. Josh had a lot going on to open the club but unfortunately poor David took a back seat. Thankfully they had some amazing friends who spoke up and helped! I was really worried there for a minute! I loved the characters in this series and I loved watching them fall in love and be there for each other! This is such a wonderful story that I highly recommend.

I understand why this book is part of the series because Morticia Knight has written this series as if it’s one long story although parts of them overlap, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did the other books. I think it’s because I can really emphasize with how David feels being lonely when their partner works too much. That said it’s still very well written and I do hope that there will be more stories from this club.

David officially broke my heart! The best domestic submissive is left to question everything he is and what he does because his partner is too busy to attend to his needs. I loved how David was brave enough to step away and learn more about himself in the process. Marshall made me laugh at his close bond with Kyle and how he was willing to draw attention towards himself. Great addition to this collection.

Tension, releases. With the grand opening upon the partners, focus is on a successful opening. Josh, is so focused he forgets his priorities. David, his sub feeling a bit neglected, starts feeling more and more insecure. This is a gripping your kindle story, hoping things work out but watching, questioning and wanting to give the men a push in the right direction. Nicely done. This is book four in the Kiss of Leather series and it is another great addition, Josh and David are an established couple but problems have arisen with Josh being so focused on the new club opening and Josh doesn’t realise until it’s to late that things were reaching breaking point, this story shows how much he loves David and what lengths he would go to to get him back.

Loved reading it as much as the previous books. Wish I would have had time to binge read the series beforehand. Maybe someday.
Best enjoyed in order.
I’d recommend if you like these tropes.
Fingers crossed the rest come available as arcs too.

The opening of Kiss of Leather is finally happening on Christmas Eve. While Josh has been devoting most of his time to the issues of the club, he has been ignoring his commitment to David. David feels neglected and his last priority so he leaves to have a break. This story is how and what Josh does to regain his trust and love"

So it's finally time for the grand opening of the club. Everyone is still dealing with the kidnapping from Bondage so there is still that drama. I love that this one is about an established couple having problems. They have to continue to work on their relationship to keep their HEA. Each book gets better for me.

Opening a gay Bdsm club has put pressure on their relationship. As a master he ignored his sub and their relationship deteriorated. They need to find a way back to each other.
