Silent memories unlock simmering passions...

He found her on the beach with no memory and a gun...FBI Agent Ryan Williams had a soft spot for women in distress and this one was a textbook example. He'd come to Paradise for some R and R -- instead he took in a beautiful stranger with killers on her trail.

Ryan had named her AJ, but she hadn't a clue to her identity. Even her reflection was that of a stranger's. But she knew something terrible had happened to those closest to her. Because of her. And unless she unlocked the secrets of her past, Ryan's kindness and his growing feelings for her would be repaid in blood....

Ryan Williams works for the FBI. He is between assignments and is taking some time off while staying at his friend's guest cottage on the beach in Hawaii. One day during his morning run on the beach, he encounters a woman holding a camera and looking out at the ocean. She is trespassing on private land so he approaches her, and in the process she pulls a gun on him. Turns out she has amnesia and has no idea how she got there. Ryan offers to help her and lets her stay with him while he tries to solve the mystery behind her and help her recover her memories. He calls her "AJ" based on initials he finds on some items she has with her.

This was a very enjoyable romantic suspense and amnesia story. The two leads were both likable and had great chemistry. I liked how Ryan really wanted to help and protect AJ, even if it meant taking a break from his vacation. I liked that he trusted her and stood by her even when others had their doubts about her. I enjoyed AJ's career of photography. I liked how she was steadfast and loyal to her friends. She felt vulnerable due to her lack of memory, but she was determined to find out the truth about herself even though she knew she may not like what she found out. I liked how her memories were uncovered bit by bit, instead of in one go. It added to the mystery. I really liked Ryan's mysterious psychic friend Jamie and would have loved to have learned more about him. A very entertaining read with a nice island setting.
