Stranded with the Seal is book one in the H.E.R.O. Force series by Amy Gamet. This is my first book of Amy’s. I kept seeing excerpts of it on Facebook and finally had to download it. This is a fast paced romantic suspense.
Trevor “Hawk” Hawkins is a former Navy Seal and now works for H.E.R.O. Force. Two years ago, he watched his close friend and teammate’s life ended by a man they were trying to capture, Steele. In the time since, he has thought of nothing else but revenge. But for some reason, his superior won’t allow them to go after him. He has gotten information that something big is going down at the mansion on top of the mountain where Steele lives. So he has decided to go it alone. Only he didn’t plan on there being a blizzard. Or, he didn’t plan on the car stuck in the snow after a blind curve. And he definitely didn’t plan on smashing into the car and injuring the woman standing next to it.
Olivia Grayson was on her way away from the mansion at the top of the hill. But the blizzard conditions caused her to run off the road. After the accident, she found herself lying in the snow with no idea who she was or why she was there. The only thing she new was that the very strong man who found her was the only thing between her and freezing to death.
Olivia and Hawk find themselves in an old cabin trying to survive. Is the weather the only threat to them? Hawk isn’t sure. And does he have to give up his mission to make it to the mansion at the top of the mountain and end the life of his enemy? What about the crazy attraction sizzling between he and Olivia? Do they dare act on it when she doesn’t know who she is?
As I said above, this was a fast paced romantic suspense with plenty of steam! I enjoyed meeting Hawk’s team members and the following books in the series will feature them in their own books. I never really did feel the connection between Hawk and Olivia though for some reason. So while I enjoyed the suspense part of this, I never felt the romance the way I wanted to. The next book in the series will be Hawk’s boss, Jax’s book in Sheltered by the Seal.
Have you ever gotten really frustrated with a book because you could see all the potential it has, but it just doesn't come together right? This is that book for me.
The writing style? Good The general plot with the ex-SEAL wanting revenge on the guy who killed his buddy and then falling in love with the bad guy's girl? Super fun A handful of side characters with great personalities that you can't wait to read more about in their books? Yup, just right
But the main characters?
They're absolutely ridiculous and their actions make no sense. They meet when Hawk comes around a blind corner and demolishes Olivia's car. She's knocked unconscious, and despite his frequent worry that she's dying, all he's capable of doing is getting a stiffy every time he thinks about her.
And when Olivia wakes up, turns out she has amnesia. Why did the author decide to give her amnesia? I have absolutely no freaking clue. It made absolutely no sense. It doesn't do anything for the story except add these weird awkward scenes where Olivia wants to do Hawk, but feels a little guilty because she knows she's engaged to someone she can't remember....but she still does Hawk anyway....and it turns out she was on the run from her crime-lord fiancé because he was roughing her up a bit...but she ends up still feeling guilty about cheating on the guy....who also bangs underage sex trafficking victims...
Added to this was a whole bunch of ridiculousness to explain stupid stuff that didn't even need to be in the book anyway. Like, the fact that Olivia is actually a super famous actress whose stage name is Brooke. Why did she need to be a famous actress? Beats me.
She forgets this anyway because of the stupid amnesia, and Hawk doesn't recognize her the whole time they're together....until they're going at it, and he sees the name "Brooke" tattooed on her butt. Yes, the world-famous, just hosted SNL, actress with a billionaire fiancé has her own stage name tattooed on her butt. And it is that form of identification that suddenly makes her recognizable. Do you think Lady Gaga has the same problem? Dudes not recognizing her because she introduces herself as Stefani, but then they see she has Gaga tattooed somewhere and figure it out?
Yeah, no....because it's stupid.
And don't even get me started on how no one knew that a famous actress was engaged to a famous billionaire WHO SHE LIVED ON THE SAME FREAKING MOUNTAIN WITH. Or how a team of former Navy SEALs didn't know the regular billionaire Marco Acero (that Olivia/Brooke was engaged to) was actually also Marco Steele, the drug and sex trafficking billionaire that tortured and killed their buddy. Acero even means steel in Spanish...ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This crack team couldn't put this together until the end of the book? Just how many billionaires named Marco are there? Maybe these guys need someone new to join the team. I heard this guy is pretty good with solving mysteries.
Seriously, if the author hadn't pushed so hard to put so much in here, this could have been so much better. All the crazy extras just ended up making the story feel ridiculous. And the insta-love is this was just so overboard. Way too quick and nothing to back up the infatuation. The relationship was so unbelievable and so forced that the author would have been better off just leaving it out completely and making the entire focus how the SEALs go after the bad guy who killed their teammate.
I'm not sure if I'll continue with the series or not. I really enjoyed Cowboy and Jax and Logan, but if their books are over-written like this one, I'm just going to end up super frustrated with them, too.
Purch Amazon June 11, 2018 Stranded with the SEAL by Amy Gamet Genres: Adult (Mild), Crime, Mystery, Romance, Suspense 4 solid stars
I probably should have given this 4.5 stars.
The intimate romance scenes could have been kicked up a notch. They were close to 'Fast Food'. Nice, but not hot and steamy. They are what I would call 'Adult', but just barely.
The writing and flow is off the charts perfection.
Loaded with surprising twist & turns.
Great mystery and crime elements.
Very well done suspense. Loaded with action.
I'm impressed enough that I am reading Book#2 now.
Hawk’s book is a win for me, normally I don’t always like the Hero’s more than the Heroines in books like these but something about him got to me. His need to protect but also with that thought in the back of his mind about revenge. And yet when it’s all said and done I don’t think it was even revenge that kept him going. I think it was Olivia, which I totally dug.
Olivia was a good character, I don’t know that she is a favorite she was missing something for me to whole heartily like. Maybe she was just too naive for too long. I know it was amnesia but something was still missing. The way her sister manipulates her and yet she still gave in. I don’t know I just didn’t like that part of her character, she seemed stronger than that to me.
The team members intrigued me especially Cowboy. I want his book.
I don’t think it’s a surprise I loved the narration, something about Janelle’s tone, voice, infliction gets me to connect and truly enjoy the stories with her voice. I want more. I always want more. Again the way she can distinguish males and females so well. I am always looking for good female narrators who can do both but not just that do them well. Worth a listen for dang sure.
What do you get when you mix vengeance, a run-a-way bride, a blizzard, and two racing cars? You get an accident that result is some minor gaps in memory, electric chemistry with a stranger, remote cabin, and oh, yeah someone hunting you like you just killed their world.
This was a quickie read but it had action, drama, suspense, and chemistry. This was a well paced romance, mystery with a solid character base. They were well written and a great start to a new series. Trevor has one thing on his mind but that slowly begins to change when he collides with Olivia. There's a chance they can both help each other and still have what they want.
Jump in on the beginning of a action-filled, drama intense series with more than just the HERO has what it takes.
Trevor 'Hawk' Hawkins is an ex navy seal and is now a member of an elite team. H.E.R.O.- the Hands-on Engagement and Recognizance Operations Team. He's hell bent on avenging his friends murder and, on his lonesome, heads to Colorado mountains to the 'bad guy' to exact his revenge, against his commanders orders. In a severe snowstorm he literally runs into a beautiful, young stranded woman. Rescuing her he not only finds an abandoned cabin but she has a concussion and amnesia. The premise was good, the book started off well, you knew she was running from something or someone. He's injured, without a vehicle, communications or weapons but swears to fulfill his lone mission...but he feels guilty and responsible for her. Up to that point the storyline was solid, if not a little predictable, but steady. The predictability factor comes in spades after that. The storyline gets very jumpy too. The other teammates are mentioned a lot and set up for future books. For an honorable man he wasn't that honorable and she was a bit of a ditz. Sometimes their dialogue was child like and the chemistry almost none existent but there's sex scenes aplenty. A quickish predictable read. Read better. 2.5*
4 stars and here is why: “Is there something wrong with your bed?” she asked.
“You aren’t in it.” He was so grumpy, honestly they were both grumpy and it was fine because it was funny. In the beginning, around like the first 15% if the book, i was on the verge of starting to dislike them but listen to this: “Hello?” she said.
“Livy, is that you?”
Her stomach dropped down to her knees at the sound of Trevor’s voice on the line. “Yes, it’s me.”
“It cost me three personal favors and a hundred bucks in cash to get your phone number.”
She couldn’t help but smile. “That’s all?”
“I would’ve had to prostitute myself for your address.”
She laughed, nervous energy rising to the surface.
“Where do you live?” he asked.
“Nowhere near you, why?”
“Seriously, give me your address. I’m in town.”
He would have to "prostitute" himself to get her address. Also funny.
Short summary of what this is about: Actress is forced to marry crimelord, Navy seal has to avenge his friend by killing said crimelord, actress and navy seal get into an accident with one another in the snowy mountains, they are injured and stranded in a cabin, actress has amnesia and can't remember much from a head injury.
Published in 2016. When a movie star trying to escape a bad relationship, and a SEAL bent on revenge are stranded in a cabin during a blizzard, sparks will fly. I really liked this story. I could feel the characters attraction, even though it was fast. It had some heated scenes, but the overall story was rich with suspense. The ending was satisfying. I recommend this book for anyone who loves romantic military suspense.
Navy Seal Training 101/How Not to Embarrass Your Country By Being A Lousy Lover
I swear, for a bunch of guys that went into the military right out of school, and are 1 night-standing their way around the world, these guys know how to not only burn up the sheets, but ignite a raging inferno everywhere they touch down How is that possible? Seriously!!! Not just Seals, but every branch of the armed services, AND private contractors. We are drowning in national debt. Open those classes to civilians, at a high premium. Not only will we balance the budget, but take over the entire world with a smile on our face. Without blood shed or PTSD. Other countries would line up to become part of the United States. And women would be in charge. As it always should have been:) Ok. Another Navy Seal story right? Yes. But a really good one. Fast reading. Suspense and good sex. The right elements to mix into a continuing series. I was briefly married to an airmen back in the stone age. He paid attention during his super secret Operation Panty Drop classes, so they must exist. I would think, like special ops guys get intensive extra training for military action, that additional classes in the finest art are required as well. They have an obligation to their country to be ready and prepared for all kinds of action. To "serve" proudly. Also kind of explains why so many countries have mandatory military service. Not to prepare them for war. To have them skilled at pulling in and out of different conflicts. All kidding aside, I certainly recommend this story. And God Bless our military men and women. Thank you for your service to my family and our country.
Brook Barrons (Olivia Grayson) is a famous movie star who is engaged to a man she has learned is a “monster”. When she is on the run from him, she has an accident while driving in a blizzard. Trevor "Hawk" Hawkins is on a personal mission when he is also caught in the blizzard. His teammate had been killed two years ago and he was out for revenge on the man responsible, Steele. It was while following a lead to find Steele that Hawk drove into the blizzard. Getting into an accident is not a good way to meet, but that is what happened to this couple. When Olivia came to, she couldn’t remember who or where she was. Who was the man laying beside her?
Olivia doesn’t know if she can trust Hawk but as her memory starts to come back, she realizes she has to trust him if she wants to stay alive. Hawk has problems of his own. Does he protect the woman he is falling for or get revenge on Steele? They can't go anywhere with a blizzard raging outside their cabin so they have time to think. But the heat between this pair makes it hard to think straight.
The surprises in this book just kept coming. I loved it! Picture a famous actress not knowing who she was or why she was in the middle of a snow storm. Add a SEAL, out for revenge and you've got great characters and quite a story. There is action, suspense and sexual attraction in this well-written story. You won't want to put it down.
If you like action-packed romantic suspense, you will love Stranded with the SEAL.
This book is the perfect combination of intrigue and suspense with a side serving of sexual attraction that makes for a very exciting read. Trevor Hawkins is SEAL on a private mission of revenge when a mountain snow storm knocks him off track and has him fighting for survival along with the woman he hits on the side of the road. Olivia Grayson has no idea who or where she is and she's not even sure she can trust the chiseled stranger who insists he saved her life when her car caught fire after their accident. With hints of sexual attraction, plenty of suspense and heart pounding intrigue, Trevor and Olivia have to run for their lives because of an unknown enemy and the bitter elements they hope to survive during their heart pounding meeting on Warsaw Mountain. I read a complimentary copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
Oh man, oh man! I was leaning towards 2.5 stars, but then the ending made me loath the heroine and it was just such a bad writing move, I can't give it more than 1 star. First things first, the story suffers from having too much information needed with not enough pages to properly write them in. There was no character development. The heroine had no real personality and was so damn confusing! She went from thinking he drugged her, to kissing him in like 3 hours. Then she finds out she's engaged and since she can't remember her fiance, she says "Fuck it" and then literally fucks it. "It" being Mr. Navy Seal Dude, aka not her fiance. So all that was pretty shady, even before she remembered who her fiance was, they were both ready to dive in after being around each other for 2 days. How could you take a relationship with her seriously after that? Let's hope she never loses her memory again because you've got 1.3 days to get to her before she's fucking and falling in love with a random stranger 🤣 We don't learn much about either character, they are both defined by one thing. The H can be defined as "I only do two things; Get revenge for my fallen comrade and fuck engaged women and I just finished fucking an engaged woman." The heroine is just vapid, childish and has reason to envy the intelligence of brainless slime mold. Then the ending. Ohhh, the ending. She finally remembered who her fiance was and realized her new fuck friend is going to go kill him and she's rushing there. I thought she was going to save the H or do *something* helpful for him, but she gets there and even after hearing her fiance traffics drugs and women, killed her lover's friend in a horrific manner and just raped a teenage girl on his desk a half hour ago, she's like "don't kill him! He's done so much for me!" 🤣🤦🏼♀️and this pussy whipped H is like "Okay, I won't kill him for you" , but then the fiance grabs a gun and is moments away from shooting the H's teammate, when, of course, he shoots the guy before he's able to kill his friend. You'd think that even the dumb AF h would grasp the necessity of him having to shoot the dude. But no, H saves his friends life and this bitch is like "How could you?" 🤦🏼♀️🙄😮💨 She's talking to sister about it later and it's almost satirical. "I just can't be with him. He shot my fiance even when I asked him not to!" Her sister is like "Well, why did he shoot him?" and the TSTL heroine says "Because he killed Trevor’s friend, and he was about to shoot his other friend.”...🤣🤣🤣 Yeah, you're temper tantrum is TOTALLY justified! Jesus Christ, was this supposed to be satire and I'm taking it too seriously? If I find out later that's the case, I may adjust my rating, but for now, that's where things lie.

Lui se ne innamora all’istante.

I feel like none of this book made sense. I mean it's not necessarily for everything to make sense for a book to be good, but this one went way beyond even a soap opera for making up weird things for drama. Everything was so instant in the love department. Like I didn't have a chance to even feel attraction before they were in love. No one seemed very smart. A world-famous movie star was unknown, and a billionaire crime lord sex trafficker because he changed a last name but everything else was the same about him. Throw in some amnesia and all kinds of weird relationships. This book tried to do too much too fast for sure.
No chemistry, weird changes in who is telling a story, 2 chapters repeating on the audiobook, and an ending that has no build-up?? Well, at least it was free.
Ehhh this was okay. The spice was good but not great. The plot was lacking and that wouldnt be so bad if the spice was better. If the plot sucks, at least have good spice. The ending made me mad cause she felt guilty for fucking trevor and cheated on marco but yet marco was HUMAN TRAFFICKING people, killed her family AND cheated on her with underage girls. Make it make sense!

SEAL Trevor Hawkins (aka Hawk), has gone rogue from his HERO unit when he runs into (literally) Olivia during a snow storm on a remote mountain road. While he manages to get them both to shelter in a nearby cabin, they’re injured, and Hawk’s forced to set aside his dreams of revenge while they recuperate. Olivia’s on the run as well, only she can’t remember why, so while she’s trying to get her memories back, she and Hawk give in to the mutual attraction that’s flared between them. However, when their pasts catch up to them, they’re torn apart: Olivia is tormented by guilt, and Hawk can’t forgive himself. Can there be a path forward for them together?
I had to push to finish this one. Neither Hawk nor Olivia have much going for them. She seems shrill and fragile; he’s very closed off. And...at no point did the author get me to a place where I cared about these characters. They are VERY cardboard, and have no depth at all.
The story was a muddle as well. Too many random plot points going in too many directions.
Glad I got this from KU. The only thing worse than reading this would be paying to read this.
Fear, revenge and action collide to create the bounty that is Stranded with the Seal. Amy Gamet is full of surprises. She took a story filled with emotional and created an action packed thrill ride that delivers suspense, romance, lust and heart. Livy is a woman faced with a tough choice, Trent is a man on a mission. Caught in the cross hairs of a vicious man and a dangerous situation Trent and his mystery women will have to face some truths and just maybe find the answers to a prayer, in each others arms. She's good. Whether facing down a violent mad man or working to confront a troubled past, Ms. Gamet delivers stories that are stunning works and unforgettable reads.
This introduction to a new group of military type men who will find their true loves was a short, action-packed, intense, dramatic read. Oliva and Trevor had some major situations to deal with alone and together that managed to ultimately work out positively for both of them. I look forward to reading about the other men in the group as the rest of the series comes out.
Thank you to the author for the copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Send help. If I’m reading anything involving military men, or billionaire tycoons, I need help sent because it means I’ve found nothing else to read.
This book was okay, it of course had our Hero sharing how he was a Navy SEAL every four pages, which is exhausting. Can you imagine if other people in other professions did that? Like I can’t wait to tell people I’m a recruiter every 30 minutes. Also the fact that he said “booyah” as a whole grown ass man is… concerning.
This was a great read for the first book of HERO Force. There was a little intrigue mixed in with a little action. Trevor was a true alpha navy seal, and Olivia finally got her memory back. They sizzled off the page. Can't wait for the next installment of HERO Force.
Personal Preference Rating 4.5/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Audiobook (ScribD) Interesting plot with a good amount of romance. I liked the story quite a bit and if you like the ‘military man’ sub-genre, this is a solid read.
Wasn't sure about this one with the choppy beginning but once you figure out who Olivia is it made sense.Love the guys from Hero by then i couldn't put it down.L9ved the out come now on to #2 !!!
This book was on the short side but packed a punch. The characters and storyline came together perfectly… The Author gave enough information about secondary characters that leaves you wanting more which is where I’m off to now …..
