”I was still reeling from what had happened between me and Ryker that morning. It had been completely wrong, completely unexpected.
And the best sex of my life.”
I left the town of Cheyenne when I was barely thirteen. My father sent me away. An outlaw motorcycle club was no place for a growing girl, he said. Yeah, right. He just didn’t want the men of the Throttle ogling his daughter.
Now I’m back, after seven years away. It’s time to reconcile with my past. But the cocky, hot-as-hell stranger I meet by the side of the road turns out to be the last person I should be looking at that way. Ryker Stone is fire, and I‘m praying like hell I don’t get burned.
From best-selling author Daphne Loveling... a steamy standalone novel you won’t be able to put down !
Here’s what readers are saying about THROTTLE :
“I've read tons of biker books and even more stepbrother books, so when I saw a book that combined them both I had to read it! From the first page the tension between Ryker and Hadley was insanely hot, and the plot kept me wanting to read more and more. Definitely going to be checking out more from this author!”
“This was a gritty and sexy romance that you can't put down. Ryker is the sexy as sin biker with enough swagger to take your breath. Hadley is strong, smart, and stands for what she believes. The passion between these two is an inferno.”
THROTTLE is a standalone novel featuring sizzling romance, HEA, and absolutely no cliffhanger.
Note: This version of THROTTLE contains a special bonus novel.
USA Today bestselling author of alpha males, feisty females, and smoking hot romance.
Small town girl in the big city. Incurable romantic. Hopeless optimist in a realist's body.
Owned by two cats.
A sucker for a bad boy with a soft center.

I’ve taken a hiatus from formal reviews for a while, but a couple quick thoughts: I really enjoyed both Ryker and Hadley. And they were perfect together. I also enjoyed the storyline. It was meaningful and had some depth. And lastly, I enjoyed the support characters of the MC. All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable read.
With that said, I truly desired a series. Throttle MC was a great introduction. There were several aspects of the storyline that were left open, although the assumption was that they were wrapped up for the good. But I would absolutely love the author to continue to what had the potential to be an intriguing, suspenseful, sexy, conflict ridden and a truly great series. One can hope! 😃
Quick read, good story of going back home and how you just never know how it’s going to turn out. It also tells the truth about how addiction and drugs can hurt people and a whole town.
My oh my, the sparks that fly between these two, and a father as protective as the President who sent is young teenage daughter back east for school to keep her away from the MC life.
This is a combustible situation from page one and goes throughout the entire story, I couldn't put it down I had to find out what was going to happen next. In this book we get both perspectives in this story which helps make it more enjoyable because we get it to know what they both are thinking and feeling. We see them both be conflicted concerning their attraction towards each other and the implications it might mean.
This was an interesting story. It seemed a lot less taboo than some of the other stories of its' kind that I've read due to the fact that they had never met before. I kept picturing Charlie Hunnam (Jax) from SOA while I was reading it. Bad Boy MC member who wants to get his club on a better path. I am moving on to the Stone Kings MC books now.
Very predictable biker romance with uninteresting, flat characters plus a boring plot. The blurb was more exciting. lol! The only redeeming thing is the spotlight on meth use and abuse. Honestly, it read more like a porno. If that's your thing, you'll love it.
LOVED this book - Want to reread this book over and over again.
Rating: 😍😍😍😍😍
Hadley is the daughter of the President of the Throttle MC. When she was 14 she was sent away for her own good. But the life that was given to her instead was lonely - she learned that she could only take care and depend on herself. She graduates university with a Psychology degree and decides to go home before she figures out what is next in her life plan. When she gets close to home her car breaks down and an unwanted hunk on a bike stops, fixes the car, and then shows her what kissing is supposed to be like. But she realises that he isn't someone that she should tangle with as he drives away. The man that just set her panties on fire is none other then the VP of her father's MC - his second in command. OH and it gets better - he turns out to be her stepbrother as well.
Ryker is the VP of Throttle and wants nothing more then to prove he deserves the title and to set the club on a better road. He is in lust with Hadley from the moment he saw her daisy dukes but when he finds out who she is and that she is sleeping upstairs... His feelings for her grow. She is around him whether physically or in his head - he can't get away from her and he is only so strong. He falls deeper and deeper for Hadley. And when it becomes too much for them both she attempts to leave. Breaking his heart slowly in the process - but maybe it is for the best... He'd never be able to be with her right?
When Hadley decides its time to get out of town she has tried to have a relationship with her dad - which she thinks has bombed, and can't help falling in love with Ryker - well he's her stepbrother there would be no way that her father would be ok with that. Everything that brought her home was the family she had once and that is what she now wants to flee from. Can she be convinced that her place has always been with her family and the town she grew up in? Will she find her happy ever after? This plot is hot enough that the angst, steam, and chaos keeps you hooked. I loved Hadley and Ryker's story. Amazing job Daphne! Can't wait to read more of your work.
This was my first book by this author and I really did enjoy this MC book told in dual POV.
Ryker (VP of Throttle MC) and Hadley’s (the Presidents daughter) chemistry sparks from the words “need help” in the beginning pages, and doesn’t let up throughout this book.
A little taboo relationship as they are “step” brother/sister. We get to see them deal with their attraction towards each other and the implications that may, or may not, happen due to that fact. You can feel the push and pull that they are both feeling….great angst!
There is a little a bit of drama, drug dealing, hot sex – just enough to keep me turning the pages. I was hoping for a little more club drama/action, especially between Ryker and Jimmy. I kept waiting for something – anything to happen between them and sadly there was nothing. I was also a little disappointed that the book ended at 83%, without a conclusive ending.
Although stepbrother romances are generally not my thing, the synopsis on this one grabbed my attention.
Hadley, daughter of the president of the MC was returning home after a long absence. She meets Ryker, VP of the MC along the way but doesn’t know who he is entirely until she arrives to see her father.
There is an instant attraction between them, but they deny it tooth and nail.
Additionally, there are some other issues surrounding the MC that are making things hard for the town and hard for Hadley. These things put a strain on the relationship between Hadley, Ryker and her dad.
This story was good on the romance, but wasn’t believable, for me, as an MC story mainly because of the MC members loose lips. Every fan of MC stories knows “Club business isn’t discussed outside, even with their significant other”!
Also, Hadley’s dad was too unaware of what was going on in his own club, again, this is my opinion only.
Ok here we go. This was an alright step brother taboo romance. The problem, they never spent any time together. They didn't get to know each other. They spent the majority of their time avoiding each other! So tell me how in the world did they "fall in love"? Plus why didn't he come to her about what her childhood friend was saying? Yes he could tell they weren't exactly friends but wouldn't he want her to know what he was saying? The storyline was typical & if they had spent any time together it would have been a decent book. There was a few typos but not enough that it would take away from the story. I wouldn't recommend unless you're ok with 2 people falling in love without even having spoken more than a few words to each other, knock yourself out. On to the next!
Okay so I actually liked the story line in this and I enjoy a good MC book and stepbrother romances but to me there was issues here. These two slept together a few times and literally ignored each other unless they ended up in bed together. This in itself isn’t an issue but the fact we see almost zero chemistry between them and they suddenly decide they are in love. How exactly did they fall in love when they ignore each other except the handful of times they fooled around?
Ryker and Hadley's story begins on the side of a deserted road. Hadley knew what to d for her beater car, but in rides a Knight t save her! She doesn't need saving, when she realizes he belongs to Dads Mc and is Vp! When she arrives home after 7 long years away, she finds out said Vp is her step brother. There is more than the attraction between these two. Drug addiction is the main theme, and the social issues surrounding it. It was a Great Read!
The book was just too short. We moved from point A to Z way too fast.
I thought the sex was way too quick also; unbelievably so.
And the problem with "Jimmy" was not resolved. Both in relation to the club and in relation to our heroine. It almost felt like "to be continued" without really saying it.
I have read several other books by this author and gave them all 5 stars. But not this one
Loved it Ryker and Hadley relationship was beautiful. If you love alpha biker males this is your book. Hadley is back in town and her father is the president of the MC club. The club is going in a dangerous direction. Ryker is VP of the club and has an instant attraction towards Hadley. This is a hot and steamy sexy book. Fast pace from page one, my only negative is it just ended wanted to know more about Jimmy reactions. Great book.
I first thought this story might be a little uncomfortable but was gladly mistaken. The characters fit well together and it could only be fate that brought Hadley and Ryker together. The two made a great team in making the town they lived in a better place and as a couple, they fit together like two missing puzzle pieces.
The writting was surprisingly good with a believable storyline and characters I really liked, although there was definitely room to have developed the characters further. Altogether a very pleasant read, if only just a bit rushed. I would have loved to see this story stretched out a bit more.
I found it lacking that these two people fell in love when they hardly knew each other. The only time they were together was when they were intimate. Weeks would go by and they didn’t see each other. They didn’t go on dates, they didn’t talk to each other. That was very lacking in this book. The characters had nothing I read that build their story.
Overall it wasn’t terrible but I feel like there should’ve been more to it. They had sex what three times over the course of months with very little conversation & they somehow knew they loved eachother ? It just wasn’t a great read for me and I feel like they could’ve put more to it personally. Definitely readable but wasn’t my favorite .
Quick read, good story of going back home and how you just never know how its gonna turn out. It also tells the truth about how addiction and drugs can hurt people and a whole town. Definitely one I would read again.
This was everything that you would hope for from a step brother/ MC romance. Well written with strong characters. My only criticism is that it missed so much potential by being so short and skimming over issues that arose within the story.
Hadley and Ryker are so cute together that you can’t help pulling for them. I seriously think I could become a bikers old lady if someone like Ryker Stone came along
Ryker wanted Hadley, and his step sister wants him back. Can things get any hotter? Can they avoid the heat? Will her reunion with her father make things impossible? Daphne has a way with words that draw you in.
This is my first MC read by Daphne and I liked it. There wasn't any real MC action in the story; however, I liked the story's issue message. I was captivated from chapter 1 and read this story in one sitting. Looking forward to the next book.
Where do I start, so it started off a bit slow and because of this I think she rushed the ending. I was left with so may unanswered questions, not even the epilogue gave you closure. That’s why I gave her two stars.....
When a hot guy helps Hadley on the side of the road, she had no idea that it was her step-brother. Soon sparks fly between Ryker and Hadley, but it’s so wrong that they like each other. Can the step siblings become more than that?
Holy cow I’m blown away again. This book was amazing and I felt connected to each character and every emotion I felt in the story. There’s so much tension everywhere and I couldn’t have asked for a more realistic relationship with everyone.
I said little story because that's exactly what it was. It ended at 75% with only half of the story done. If you are going to sell 3/4 of a book say it!!!
