There can be little doubt that Adolf Hitler changed the lives of everyone who lived in Europe and altering the lives of future generations throughout the world. No one has ever attracted more attention from biographers and historian than Adolf Hitler. This short book is an outcome of the conversation taken place between the author, James Bunting and the tyrant Hitler. It shows how and for what reason this nondescript, illeducated son of simple parentage became ruler of a country and one of the worst tyrants the world has ever known.
Hitler is perhaps the most significant figure of the 20th century. The existence of this one individual impacted the lives of millions. This account of Hitler's life was the first I came across, that, unlike the more popular biographies was much more concise and focused primarily on how Hitler went from a struggling artist to the behemoth we know all too well. It wasn't by any means a comprehensive account of his life but it provided a bird's eye view of the whole affair without delving too much into the politics. Overall, this can be viewed as an introduction on the life of Hitler, recommended to those who are venturing just now into the topic.
2.5 stars [Biography] (W: 2.5, U: 2.5, T: 2.5, P: 3) Exact rating: 2.63 #24 in genre, out of 28
The writing got a 2.75, but minus 0.25 for numerous typos/misspellings. Dubious truth included saying Neville Chamberlain wasn't weak, but instead saved Britain from annihilation by giving her a year's breathing space to build up armed forces (p195) and finished the book by saying Eva shot Hitler because his own palsy prevented it.
I just wonder even in autobiography one can lie. After reading this,i realized most of the things Hitler written in his "Mein Kampf" was manipulated by him and not the exactly true one. To attract the german towards him ,he must be lied.I appreciate the author to bring out some of the reality about Hitler.Though i'm not much interested in history, I enjoyed it by reading.
