This is a difficult review to write. I don't generally like short novels because there's not enough time to develop the characters or the plot. I may not have purchased this book if I had known how short it was. For that reason, take this review with a grain of salt.
The storyline was novel. It is set in a drug world and touched on some rather sensitive issues. That was interesting. I wish those issues had been delved into further. In this instance, the themes are too serious to be handled so lightly. Because there's no time to truly examine the characters' feelings toward the situations they encounter, they tend to come off as cavalier.
In addition, the plot line requires a major suspension of belief. It's hard to read this story without continually judging the events and the characters reactions to them. Strangely enough, I was able to get past this problem. Just be prepared for the unrealistic plot.
Overall, the story was okay. It is a quick read. The characters are likable. The problems with the book are those inherent in many short novels. If your short on time and looking for something to read, this could fill the bill.
