This is the third book in the series about Bailey becoming a witch and learning the secrets of the Caves. It is one series you definitely need to read in order, otherwise there will be more confusion than fun in resolving the mysterious death of Professor Owen Turner.
When Bailey goes to the Caves to practice meditating, she arouses herself and finds a strange man is entering the Caves. Archeologist Owen Turner has come by invitation to study the caves. While it makes Bailey nervous to have him examining the Caves, she shares folklore and information about the Caves. She finds Professor Turner quite likeable. Unfortunately, someone else doesn't agree with her assessment, and murders him. Circumstantial evidence makes Bailey's father, Ryan, look guilty and he is arrested for the crime. Desperate to find the true murderer and absolve Ryan from blame, Bailey enlists her friends to help investigate. What follows is a little magic, a lot of friendship, and an investigation complete with odd spells on the guards of the crime scene.
This magical story is a good mystery as well as a great story about friendships. It is a clean read that is good for all ages. I can't wait until the next book comes out so we can learn more about the Caves and Bailey's life, as well as the changes in Piper and Avery's lives as well!
