Paxton Stewart… The boy I spent my entire childhood pining after. He never saw me of course. To him I was just a child. His best friend’s baby sister. A silly little girl. Until I wasn’t anymore…
I thought I could be the one to change him. The one to tame him. Instead, I became one of the many broken hearts he left in his path.
I didn’t run away. I had planned to leave all along. But what I didn’t plan for was how I would feel returning all these years later.
One look and it all came back. One look and suddenly I remembered everything… Every word. Every kiss. Every touch.
Even after everything he put me through; Paxton Stewart still owns my heart. The only question remaining is what he plans to do with it now…
Crazy Stupid Perfection is the third of three standalone novels in the Crazy Love Series.
Melissa Toppen is a USA Today Bestselling Author who specializes in New Adult and Contemporary Romance. She is a lover of books and enjoys nothing more than losing herself in a good novel. She has a soft spot for romance and focuses her writing in that direction; writing what she loves to read.
I was lucky to receive a Beta copy of Crazy Stupid Perfection for an honest review and feedback. This is the third book in the series but xan be read as a standalone. Although I would highly recommend reading Crazy Stupid Love & Crazy Stupid Obsession because they are amazing as well. This book is about a forbidden love. Brother’s best friend falls in love with baby sister. I absolutely loved this book and once again Melissa did not disappoint me. Charlie & Paxton’s story is so bizarre and heart string pulling. Their relationship made me feel anxious happy and sometimes sad because they kept it a secret for so long. The things I like most about this book was the super steamy sneaky sex scenes. The author wrote flawlessly. I was lost in every word written. The other thing I loved about this book was the last scene where Gavin and Paxton call truce. Two best friends making peace even though the circumstances. That seriously pulled on the old heart strings for sure. I'm am also suppose to share something about the book that I didn't like. Well I honestly say I can't recall anything that I did not like at all. The story flowed without my eyebrows raising. Not even once did I question the motive in the characters or the general events happening in the story. The reason I could not wait to read this book is because I did read book 1 and 2 and they were so amazing I had to know what other couples story we would get next on this series of bad boys! This book has inspired me to be more open about my feelings no matter if someone may or may not like it. Sometimes it's all worth it no matter who you upset. If they love you they will support you. This book gets 5 stars from me because the author done a fabulous job. It was written beautifully. I would high recommend CSP to anyone who loves a forbidden love romance. Oh and there is a huge surprise that I can't spoil in this review!! It will not dissapoint you I promise.

After reading Crazy Stupid Love and Crazy Stupid Obsession, I just knew that things were going to be downright explosive between Paxton and Charlie in Crazy Stupid Perfection. Melissa Toppen's Crazy Stupid series has sent an arrow straight through my heart with her down to earth characters and their real world problems and sticky situations. She drew me into her fictional world full of new and old friends coming together and finding love among drinks and dancing and had me enamored from the first story to the last. Paxton and Charlie are filled with passion, selflessness, and heart all rolled into one delectable, panty dropping package.
Charlie Porter has recently ran from college in New York back to Portland into the arms of her family. Little did she know that the ever elusive Paxton, her brother Gavin's best friend, who broke her heart three years ago has come home as well. She finds herself up the creek without a paddle drowning in herfeelings for the man who has had her heart since she was thirteen. Can she and Paxton pick up where they left off or will her brother Gavin and her troubles in New York find a way to stop them? Charlie had me engrossed with her spunkiness and steam roll ahead perseverance. She sets out to prove that sheis the woman for Paxton and she is no longer Gavin's little sister in pigtails. She soon finds out that her headstrong, secretive ways are going to get her in more trouble than she ever imagined.
Paxton Stewart is back home from California and grieving the loss of his mother. The last thing he expects is for the saucy little Charlie to decide to pack her bags in New York and venture home. Just when he thinks he can pick up the pieces of his life and move on with his dream of building a music store, Charlie is there to rock his world in more ways than one. Paxton is all heart, dirty talk, and muscled yumminess! My heart strings were pulled and tangled by this troubled hero who finds himself stuck between the girl of his dreams and losing the only family he ever had.
Melissa Toppen delivers a series that gives us love, obsession, and perfection with amazing “give you the feels” characters and their unstoppable, toe curling heat. I highly recommend Crazy Stupid Obsession along with the rest of this soul grabbing series for a read that will have you dancing the nightaway, throwing back a couple of drinks, and giving love another shot with characters that will live on inyour heart forever.
Ahhh….a story after my own heart—big brother’s best friend; we’ve all seen be drool over this trope time and time again. It’s one of my favorites; as soon as I see those words in a blurb my one-click finger starts to get twitchy. And Melissa Toppen’s Crazy Stupid Perfection is well, perfection indeed. It has all the hallmarks of a great story in this particular trope: overprotective big brother, feisty little sister who’s a little bit broken, and a best friend that’s fought the attraction for too long. This is the third in the series but it’s not necessary to read the other two before diving in headfirst into this one (though I highly recommend you do, they are just as yummy!).
Charlie comes home with sadness lurking in her eyes but she’s still feisty. I loved how she gave as good as she got with her big brother. It was easy to see her bond with Gavin, Decklan and Paxton. Paxton was just delicious. He’s a dirty talking musician that’s easy on the eyes. He’s also full of heart. These two have some explosive chemistry. It steamed out of my Kindle. I’m surprised they were able to keep it a secret so long; I’d have thought they’d be sending out smoke signals! Tangled all up in their romance is a bond of friendship stronger than steel and a family of choice rather than blood.
These characters (and the side characters) were beautifully flawed, relatable, and real. The conflicts are realistic. The drama isn’t over the top. And while there’s angst, I think it was just the right amount. There are a ton of emotions in this book, a rollercoaster of them. But it was a wonderful ride. I cannot wait to read more of Toppen’s work.

So I enjoyed Paxton and Charlie's story more than I did Gavin and Harlee....I have become a fan of Melissa Toppen's and look forward to reading more of her work..having the Breathless series on my Kindle. Paxton and Charlie are like family as Paxton is one of her brothers best friends...things happen and Charlie goes off to NYU, only to return unexpectedly three years later with no real explanation for coming home. We saw bits and pieces of Charlie and Paxton in Crazy Stupid Obsession....this is their story and while there is something I am not a fan of, it does work.
What do you do when you fall for your best friends younger sister? You sleep with her and then tell her it's a mistake. Now she is back from New York and Paxton is no longer able to stay away. Charlie is home and she still has feelings for Paxton but after the hell she has been through will she take the chance with him? Loved the story but whoever edited this book needs to stop or take a closer look. To many errors and was very distracting.
Crazy Stupid Perfection Crazy Love, Book 3 By: Melissa Toppen Narrated by: Erin Thomas
This is a fantastic brother’s best friend’s younger sister romance novel, the story drew me right in grabbing my attention and captivating it for the entire book. Melissa Toppen is a gifted author, I enjoyed her writing style and the characters and storylines she created, they are interesting, realistic and easy to relate to. This book is the third of her “Crazy Love” series, it is my first and I was able to enjoy it on its own, I didn’t feel like I missed anything because I have not read or listened to the first two books, but characters from those books appear in this and it would have been nice to have known them already, I will definitely get their books soon, I loved this world the author created and the camaraderie amongst the characters. Paxton Stewart is best friends with Gavin Porter, Gavin’s family became his family, but his feelings for his younger sister, Charlie, morphed into something more, but she is totally off limits to him because he can not jeopardize Gavin’s friendship. Charlie has crushed on Paxton for as long as she can remember and just before she left for NYU she had a night to remember with him, a dream night that would be their secret. She returns home and finds her feelings for Paxton are stronger than ever, the feeling is mutual, but Paxton is torn between his feelings for Charlie and his loyalty to his friend. But the chemistry between them is electric and they could only deny each other for so long. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a beautifully plotted story with plenty of heartfelt emotions, drama, relationship, family and a crazy ex coming back in the picture and a romance that is meant to be. Melissa Toppen, thank you for another wonderful book and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧 📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Erin Thomas is a talented narrator and a versatile voice artist. She does a great job bringing these character to life, giving each their own distinct voice and personality, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. I loved how she took each role and made it her own, sounding believable in every role she played and just as I pictured the character to sound. She set the perfect tone for the story, captured all of the characters emotions and projected them into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen.

One of my favorite tropes is the brother's best friend/best friend's brother, so I was super excited to read this book on that premise alone. Now this is book three in a series, but it can be read as a stand alone (and that's what I did).
Paxton and Charlie have known each other for a long time, as long as he's been her brother's best friend, and that's wherein the problem lies. Paxton believes that his friend would not be happy if he knew the thoughts he'd been having about his sister. But Paxton hasn't been able to stop thinking about Charlie since she left town; something inside of him changed then.
Charlie has been in love with Paxton forever, and she thought she could be the one for him, but left town with a broken heart. Now she's back and her feelings for Paxton are still front and center for her, but she doesn't want to get hurt again so she plans to ignore him as best as she can.
You can read into the history of not only Charlie and Paxton but their group of friends as a whole within the pages of this book, there is a lot of love there among them, loyalty to each other, and a family made up of those most important. The fact that the group felt this way really made it fit that Paxton felt pulled between two sides of himself, the side that doesn't want to mess anything up with the group, and the side that feels something more towards Charlie.
I enjoyed watching as these two tried to figure it out, there was an undeniable chemistry there from the start, but also a strong desire to both be loved, but also to not be hurt. I love how it all worked out, how Charlie's initial plan of 'ignore it and it will go away' never stood a chance of working. I loved the added bit of drama that hiding a relationship (or trying to) builds, it made things a little more on the dangerous side, sneaking around, trying not to hurt anyone involved, it definitely had me hooked, just waiting to see when and if it would all fall down around them and what would happen.
Crazy Stupid Perfection was a wonderful story, full of love and friendship. It was a story that made me laugh, that made me feel, and most of all it was a story that pulled me in and held me in its grasp wondering how it would all turn out and if these two would finally give in to the love between them or if they would continue to fight their feelings. This book was one of the better books I've read within this trope and I recommend it to all.
THIS is the love story of Charlie and Paxton. Paxton couldn't keep her Charlie off his mind ever since their time together while in Vegas. When she came home from college, his feelings for her that were hidden, resurfaced. Paxton knows Charlie is forbidden since she is his best friends little sister. Gavin is very protective of her. He doesn't want to lose Gavin's friendship, so their only choice to see each other was to sneak behind his back. Charlie is hiding a dark secret that follows her from New York. There is plenty of emotions: guilt, friendship, betrayal, fear and love in this story to keep my interest. Erin Thomas narration is good. 🎧🎧audiobookObsession🎧🎧
This whole series was amazing. But I’d have to say, being a younger sister, this book was the best of the three. I myself have never been in love with brothers best friend, but I could put myself in Charlie’s shoes knowing that if I had ever loved or even openly crushed on my brothers friends he would have the exact reaction. Lol. Other than a few grammatical errors this book is Crazy Stupid Perfection.
No build up to their romance, every scene between the mcs was a glossed over sex scene, some slut shaming and an unplanned pregnancy which results in some more slut shaming.
And what exactly made Paxton a bad boy? He plays the guitar and wants to open music shop and that‘s the extent of my knowledge about him.
So not the book for me...
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Another fantastic story. I loved Paxton and Charlie's journey. It's steamy, emotional and has you on the edge of your seat. Love this series. Great having the other couples from the first two books. I still want more of these couples.
I am a huge Melissa Toppen fan. I'll admit I didn't read her stories until I was chosen for an ARC of The Road to You (which is phenomenal), and I was shocked. Before and now. I love her books.
It’s been a minute since I read a light romance and this one was amazing! I loved it so much! The emotions and overall story had me wanting more and more as i kept reading!
this book was by far the best book in the crazy stupid series. the plot twist, the bortherly, family romance, and the plot, betrayal it had everything, but it wasn't something that i will recall and say, "this was the best book ever" u know, it was good, but not that good.
Ah what a great book. This forbidden romance is so good. I love their love story from start to finish. With an exciting storyline I was hooked. A brilliant performance.
Reviewed on behalf of 2 girls who love books blog. Crazy Stupid Perfection is the third book in the Crazy Love series by Melissa Toppen. Although part of a series this book can be read as a standalone but I really do recommend reading the first 2 as they are both fabulous reads! I could not wait to get my hands on this book – I loved Decklan (Book 1) but I had this sneaky suspicion that Paxton was going to steal my heart away from him and he did! I absolutely loved every minute of this book. One thing I love about the books by this author is that they each seem to deal with different issues surrounding the couples. For this story we see the main characters Charlie and Paxton try and battle forbidden love. Charlie is in love with her brother Gavin’s best friend – Paxton Stewart. She’s loved him for as long as she can remember but knew he would never look at her as anything more than his best friends little sister. That is until one hot and steamy encounter between the two. Paxton loves Charlie but knows he can’t betray his best friend and so they can’t go beyond the one night they spent together. Nursing a broken heart Charlie heads to NYC for college and to try and forget about Paxton. Fat forward 3 years and Charlie is back home unexpectedly and 1 year earlier than she should be but she won’t tell anybody why. When Charlie and Paxton meet again the chemistry between them is undeniable. After everything Paxton put Charlie through he still holds her heart – what Charlie doesn’t realise is she holds his too. I was totally sucked into Charlie and Paxton’s story – I loved them as a couple. The author certainly knows how to create characters that as a reader you will fall in love with. Paxton is such a gentleman, he clearly knows Charlie went through something significant in NYC and he tries so hard to help heal her. I thought that the book was excellently written, it kept my attention all the way through and I couldn’t put it down. I love that it is written from both characters point of view – it’s my favourite writing style! The story flowed well and had no plot holes. Having read books by this author previously I expected nothing less and I was not disappointed! An absolutely fantastic story and I give it 5 stars!
Another bad boy book by Melissa that will have your panties melting. what can be said about Paxton, he's the best friend, he's like a brother, he's hot and sexy. has a dirty mouth and loves to make the ladies feel good. he's also troubled and cocky, but you will definitely fall in love with him.
Charlie she's his best friends sister. she's smart and sexy, she's feisty but loyal, and she loves her brother.
I really like where this story went. and I love the characters in this book. the way their still interconnected is the best part. the journey of Paxton and Charlie is reckless yet beautiful. this was definitely my favorite out of the three. so dive in and swoon because I saved the best for last. the SEX was HOT.
I received a copy of this book for my honest opinion for Hot Box Reviews and here it is OMG this has got to be the best one of the series I feel in love with it from cover to cover and as I lay in my hospital bed I could not put it down as some people know I am a very emotional reader and this book brought out all of my emotions and Melissa Toppen is so amazing I will be reading more of her books this amazing book is so well written and it ties the other two together with it so well and I gave it five stars if you haven't read this series of books you have really missed some awesome books. Thank you so much for giving me this amazing opportunity to read and review your books for Hot Box Reviews.
What is it about the concept of a "forbidden romance" that keeps us enthralled and eagerly seeking more?
Why is it that the complicated dynamic surrounding a love that is begging to be discovered yet is inherently destined to remain in the dark so appealing to writers and readers alike?
How does knowing that the characters in a romance that is traditionally frowned upon possess feelings and desires for someone that they are hopelessly and seamlessly in love with but will never technically be allowed to be with appeal to us so?
Incredibly, the potential for inevitable love and insurmountable loss fascinates us.
Why?
Melissa Toppen’s Crazy Stupid Perfection addresses so many of these important questions that I do not even know where to start.
Who among us can resist the lure of a man who falls helplessly, madly and deeply in love with his best friend's little sister?
HINT: Not me!!!
The first chapter introduces us to Paxon Stewart and Charlie Porter.
This star-crossed romance!
*falls to the floor in need of resuscitation*
The intensity of the first interaction alone was enough to keep me glued to my Kindle.
These two childhood friends have been in love for ages, but Charlie is Paxon's best friend's little sister and the show-stopping fires that blaze between them are extinguished over and over again by life and the circumstances that come along with it.
However, on Charlie's prom night the inferno that has been burning between them for years is ignited and the heat that is fueled by a passion that has been deferred for so long is like a white-hot blaze that comes into direct contact with flammable gasoline.
The fire refuses to be snuffed out.
Charlie and Paxon's chemistry lights up the night, setting off a sequence of fireworks and sweltering heat that simmers while they are in each other’s' presence like a living, breathing being.
What results is an encounter that sears the night.
The physical culmination of their love is like a ghost, haunting Charlie and Paxon until they cannot deny the connection that has possessed and consumed them until they finally come face to face once more.
And so it begins...
I simply could not get enough of this angst-filled liaison filled with limitless love and the potential for the indefinite loss of a union that is so rich. One that is so pure, regardless of the taboo nature that came along with it.
The author makes sure to highlight the fact that Charlie and Paxon are experiencing an undeniable connection that can move mountains and establish a love that can thrive, grow and create a legacy... familial history and "bro code" be damned.
Ms. Toppen also conveys the fact that the potential "happily-ever after" that these characters could experience is not only being threatened by individuals who are close to home...
There is also a secret that one particular party strives so hard to keep hidden in the dark that will shatter everything in its path when it is finally revealed.
This is a spoiler free review but even so I feel obligated to say that this novel addresses a very serious issue. One scene in particular was quite hard for me to read. Therefore, if you have any triggers be advised that you should tread carefully.
How will Charlie's brother react when the love that has been cultivated behind closed doors is finally exposed to the light?
Will Paxon and Charlie's love survive the turmoil?
Can they get the well-deserved HEA that we ultimately crave for them?
READ IT to find out.
Melissa Toppen's Crazy, Stupid Perfection is part three in a series but it is totally stand alone.
You will experience lows while reading this novel.
Do not forget that the highs make reading this book infinitely worth reading.

Crazy Stupid Perfection is book three in the Crazy Love Series and can be read as a stand alone. I had not read the previous two books however after reading this fantastic read I made sure to one click the others as well.
Melissa Toppen did a great job in bringing to life these characters. The story line was wonderful and the players well developed. It had a little bit of Crazy, some stupidity on the part of some and a WHOLE LOT OF PERFECTION ! A story of a forbidden love that was so right yet so wrong in the eyes of some.
Charley and Paxton have known each other for quite some time. Paxton is like a brother to her own Brother Gavin thus making any relationship between them off limits. Love however doesn't always listen and fate always has something else in mind. One moment in time where they let their emotions run free and they are forever bonded. Neither can forget and neither can summon the strength nor courage to act upon the feelings they have for one another. Until a girl comes home to find the boy she always wanted waiting ...
After returning home Charley faces her childhood love once again. She comes home jaded, broken and looking for comfort. When these two reunite sparks fly and feelings that they have fought to remain dormant re emerge.
What happens to two people who's chemistry is undeniable yet their love and sense of honor get in the way? Will Paxton finally have the courage to claim the girl who has claimed his heart ? Will the past make an unwanted appearance and spoil everything ? Will love win ?
Filled with twists and turns, heart break, laughter, love and passion, Crazy Stupid Perfection is a one click must for any romance lover.
I have waited for Paxton to finally have his story out in the open for some time now and while I am fairly satisfied, I was actually expecting more because I believed Paxton and Charlie had it in them to be fire burning hot when they finally get together. Well, at least they did have a fire burning hot passionate romance.
Both characters came out almost as what I expected them to be but how their story went was definitely not what I was hoping for them. I've always had a soft spot for Paxton and to have him man up and do his responsibilities made me love him even more. Charlie has also showed in the book that she is more than how she was introduced the previous books. Falling in love with my brother's best friend storylines are one of my favorites alongside second chance romance and to have them both in one book was surely not disappointing. This could definitely be read as a standalone and if you are looking for that sweet, romantic but sneaky romance then this is the book for you.
There is something wonderful about reading a second chance romance, but it definitely becomes a whole lot better, when it is about the First Crush or even First Love of a character! It reminds you of a simpler time, when love wasn’t influenced by reality nor by practicality!
Crazy Stupid Perfection is one such romance – and it was one beauty of a ride!
Charlie Porter, just left her life in New York to return to her home in Portland. While she has her family almost convinced that there was nothing quite drastic about her decision; she is in fact running away from something quite painful. The last thing she expected was to run into her brother’s best friend, Paxton Stewart, the one boy who held her heart as a teenager and the man who broke it into million pieces years later.
Paxton Stewart, on other hand, also ran away from Portland years before – not only to go back home to his mother, but also to get away from the one girl who has always held his heart. Now that he is back, trying to pick up the pieces of his life, he is rocked again by the “one who got away” – and this time he isn’t sure if he is strong enough to actually do the right thing. Both embark on a foolish craziness of “secret relationships” but when hearts are involved, nothing ever really goes to plan, now does it?
This one however does fall into the “New Adult Trap”, the way I like to call it – mostly because the author doesn’t give them time to grow into mature adults – adults who know the meaning of the word “responsibility”; and that’s exactly what happens here – I sorely wished that the way the author took the plot could have been handled a little better – but then again that’s the way I thought from 84% to 90% of the book. Also, communication; how hard could that have been?
This was my first Melissa Toppen book, and it was such a fun crazy ride – there is humor, immaturity, amazingly scorching chemistry and definitely a full rounded plot with well-established secondary characteristics. Definitely going to check out the rest of the books for sure! <3
Paxton is such a romantic guy, “it’s not the same, and you know it.” He presses a soft kiss to my mouth before pulling back. “Now let’s get the eff out of here so I can stop acting like I don’t want to strip you bare and eff the hell out of you.” I loved this book, I loved Paxton he didn't shy away from responsibilities and he was really caring.
“I hate sneaking around and having to hide. I finally have the man I’ve always wanted, and I can’t tell a damn soul about it. Well, other than my mom, of course. But let’s be real, who really wants to discuss things like sex with their mother? Not me.”

Charlie and Paxton's story is crazy. The ending had me in tears. Knowing the hurt she kept from her family and friends was so hard to grasp, yet understood why she did what she did. I enjoyed the entire series!
Crazy Stupid Perfection by Melissa Toppen was filled to the brim with just those things- some crazy, a little bit of stupid but an enormous amount of simple perfection as she tells the tale of a forbidden love. This book is the third book in the Crazy Love Series and focuses on the forbidden relationship between Paxton and his best friend’s younger sister Charlie. It’s that timeless angst ridden tale of forbidden love that no matter how many books I read with this similar trope I get sucked right into the emotional storyline. Now, Crazy, Stupid Perfection can absolutely be read as a standalone. I’d not read the first two books ( WHY, WHY?) in this series before cracking this bad boy open and it was absolutely not hard to follow this group of entertaining characters that Toppen had created.
In this third book however, Toppen introduces us further to Paxton and Charlie. Charlie is the kiddo of the bunch, surrounded by a group of her brothers friends she’s supposed to be the younger sister type, until she isn’t. Paxton doesn’t want to love his best friend Gavin’s sister, but for so many years now he has fought temptation’s vigorous battle until he will has given up. His focus is on Charlie and how he can prove to her that she matters.
This book was riddled with twists, turns, heart break, laughter, love and so much more thrown in. It took me on an emotional ride that I will have a hard time forgetting these next few days. It’s a definite one click that you’ll just have to see for yourself.
