In the game of politics no one is off limits. If there is dirt, your opposition will find it. If you have a weakness, they will exploit it. But when her daughter is taken in the middle of a high-stakes vote, Lena Hayes is about to find out just how cut throat the game can be.

James Hunt's passion for writing began at an early age. While his journal of yesteryear may never be the work of great fiction, he's been working hard every day since then to bring pages to life. James has well over a decade of writing under his belt, but his professional career in literature didn't take off until 2014.
James currently lives in Orlando, FL and when he's not pounding away at the keyboard you can find him at the theater or somewhere outside enjoying the beautiful Florida weather.
I'd like to give this a higher rating because I really did enjoy it. However this is only part 1 of the story. I bought Part 2, also enjoyable, BUT the story didn't conclude. I do not enjoy cliffhangers. I don't know that I will buy part 3 when it is available, as I feel a little misled and ripped off.
I am moving on to the second book in the series. It sure makes you think. I am not a parent, but I have a lot of empathy for the mother in this book. If you are squeamish don’t read this. There is a lot of blood shed.
This book is one in a series. I am reading them as fast as I am able. You should read this series of you like suspense and want to learn more about fracking.
Large corporation against small town, Barta, No. Dakota. For two years Lenya Hazes has been fighting a legal battle over fracking for oil that has tainted water supply & air pollution. First as a lawyer then State Legislature. Many families involved who have very sick people. Now including hers as hervdaughter Kayla is kidnapped. There is so much fear & anger between employees of the oil company & the towns people who have sick families. The National Guard is called in to assist & other officers from other towns. There is so much action I had a hard time putting it down. Now I can't wait for the follow up book since we don't know where Kayla is.
