I think this is the best single author weird western collection ever written. It's that good. Haakon Jones and his Native American sidekick Small Jumper wander the west for some very creative and entertaining adventures. Whether it's a plot to kill President Grant with vampire bats or an abduction by a Sasquatch, Haakon Jones is the man for the job.

Unfortunately, this book is out of print. I sure wish somebody would reprint it as it's really hard to find a copy.

Weird Western goodness. I bought this years ago after going through Dark Tower withdrawals. The stories cover adventures of Haakon Jones from his first gunfight until the day he dies. He runs into all manner of weirdness: sasquatch, vampires, Nazi time travellers, Lovecraftian horrors, and the like. Quite good.

This great collection of fantastic adventure stories, follows Haakon Jones from his family farm, as the West and beyond, ending fifty years later in 1906 San Francisco. Along the way Haakon faces werewolves, lake monsters, gunfights, time machines and a lot of Lovecraft monsters. Using his wits, fist and blazing guns he takes them down and Robert Howard would be proud!

This is simply the best single author weird western collection I've ever read. It's packed full of everything from vampire bats trying to kill President Grant to time travelling Nazis. Every story in it is simply awesome. Alas, the book is out of print and not all that easy to find.
